I switched from local (Rawlco) news radio to country stations a few years ago, but once in a while I check to see if anything has changed. Nope.

Now a days, if any TDS patients speak of their affliction, I tell them ” I don’t care”. Your affliction is pointless and no one gives a tiny piece of sheep shite.
The country FM station here in Calgary at 95.3 is owned by Jimmy Patterson Group which is apparently solely owned by Jimmy Patterson… the gal in the afternoon isn’t a fan of anything American, most of her opinions and between songs chatter is as though lifted from any of the usual culprits in the MSM, the morning people are good though.
There’s another country FM station here Country 105.7, I rarely listen as they’d blown their wad with Dixie Chicks “Aint Ready to Make Nice” or whatever very much directed at ex President George Bush seemed to bring it all out in them.
It’s a Corus Station, so their days are numbered… Corus Entertainment stock closed today at $0.095
I haven’t heard any country music on CKRY (aka Country 105) for almost 20 years. The icing on the cake was a 20 minute log mourning session for Joe Cocker but never a peep for any recently deceased actual country music artists.
As for Wild 95 I haven’t really listened since they advertise “new stuff” that I don’t care for.
I forgot to mention that CKRY gives free advertising to the NDP, HSAA and every other leftist BS around. Must be a CORUS thing.
I have pretty much given up on over the air stuff.
Used to listen to a local on air FM radio station in southern Alberta Sunday mornings. Classic rock, blues. One morning the female DJ started her program w/ a land acknowledgement. That was the last time I turned on FM radio, save for brief visits to Cowtown where I may listen to Q107. Otherwise, at home, it’s internet streamed.
can’t remember the last time I listened to local radio ….. that’s what CD’s are for when driving… lol, I hate commies!
Country music sounds like someone vacuuming cats.
Apropos of nothing … I offer THIS as an antidote to country … from 1967 … yes … 19-67 hey! Mr. Comey that means FREE-LOVE … not “kill da president”

After all the jacks are in their boxes
And the clowns have all gone to bed
You can hear happiness staggering on down the street
Footprints dressed in red
And the wind whispers “Mary
How good is Mitch Mitchell? In my top 5 drummers of all time. Speaking of Mitch Mitchell … he was personally selected by John Lennon to sit in with his rendition of the Beatles “Yer Blues” played at The Rolling Stones 1968 “Rock and Roll Circus” O.M.G. … is there a better example of Brit Blues than this D-side cut from the White album? What a tight little Supergroup THIS is? Clapton, Lennon, Mitchell … and Keith Richards on bass. Not given enough consideration

Psychedelic era sonic bliss
Like Neil Young? Okay he’s more like a cat in heat.
I gave up on radio years ago. I don’t listen at all. The talk radio hosts I could pick up were squishy sucks pretending to be a bit right-wing, and “Country” music regressed to the point that it had nothing in common with the stuff I grew up with.
I can get Corus out of Edmonton and Calgary. Total inertia on both stations. Mind numbing from dawn to dark.
On the weekend they have skidded most of the News team and run the Canadian Press for news on the hour. Everything is rerun. A borefest.
I have streaming radios and xm
660 News in Calgary is pretty much Radio Moscow comrade! 770 isn’t any better.
Murray Wood and Sarah Mills have to be two of the dumbest and worst opinionated on air personalities in SK. They’re giving Murray Mandryk a run for his money.
Why do such retards live among us?!
You hit the trifecta of truth.
I listen to Rawlco for the same reason my ancestors listened to Lord HawHaw.
What has happened is the people at the top are so Trump Deranged that they haven’t hired anyone that would speak openly in support of the President for the last 10 years. So with no personal to take the other side, you then have all the employees living and working in a bubble of TDS. If there are any that might occasionally see things differently from the group, they become afraid to say differently inside the bubble.
Wood got rid of the Gorm, so he could bring in some of the leftist advertising dollars, and union dollars.
Shick’s interviews with C. Beck, sound much like they are sleeping together.
OK, I get that this is more “provincially” focused… but…
Oh, broaderly there is Vassy Kapelos, the sage voice of our nation.
You must hear her and obey.
Otherwise, watch Rosie.
As for me, I listen to Jazz and Bluegrass and selectively read some books.
Current book by Gad Saad.
Music by Mike Brecker and Billy Strings.
In short…choose your potion. and eschew the tiresome noise of dying media. Hell, listen to birds returning to your region.
Two nice musical choices stevie
L – It would be interesting to see the chart on the size of their listening audience over the past 25 years.
CKUA is a music station. Public radio but not NPR. Acoustic through zydeco. No politics. Transmitters cover Alberta and internet for the rest of the world. I haven’’t listened to commercial radio since I moved to Alberta and discovered them in 1989.
Or you could try radio garden
(App/web)
980 CJME is unlistenable at this point. Plain static coming from the speaker would be a God send.
Being an abbotsford, bc resident living a scant few kms from the US border, I thoroughly enjoy 92.9 kism out of Bellingham, wa.
All the hard rock and no land acknowledgements. No trump bashing either, and since the airwaves are cross border and the Fraser valley dwarfs their local population, I get the weather In Bellingham in Fahrenheit but the Abby weather in Celsius. I also get local canadian ads and news… hey, it’s a free market and no tariffs and not nearly the puked up canadian political correctness.
Thank you America, once again.
Katie Hopkins documentary on the ‘non-genocide’ in SA.
“Plaasmoorde: The Killing Fields is a world-first — a documentary that goes well beyond polite interviews in safe places and deep into uncomfortable places, where the heart of the truth lives. Included in this groundbreaking work are interviews with active farm attackers and serving police officers who confirm corrupt police are complicit in the mass-slaughter of South Africa’s whites.”
