I’m twelve miles out from Floyd Central. We all used to run into Minneapolis for the bars and restaurants and theaters and . . . all the things a nice city has to offer.
No more. It’s all a war zone. Businesses are shutting down – no customers, lots of break-ins and robberies and filth in the streets.
But the liberals who DON’T live in the affected areas are ecstatic. They got their way. No police driving through the city, and the felons – boy, are the felons happy! When they do get caught – seldom, of course – the liberal judges refuse to order bail, they just release them. And, if they DO get prosecuted, the white lady liberal prosecutor (she used to run the public defenders in our court system) drops charges or reduces them to joke level.
So, yeah, Minneapolis is a no-go zone. Stay away. Spend your money elsewhere. Somalia, maybe.
Sounds like Oakland. The GS Warriors, The Oakland Raiders, and Oakland A’s all fled even InandOut Burger and Denny’s fled. And one-by-one … local bars and restaurants are leaving too. No one in their right mind would park their car on an Oakland street.
I am working on a project right now … on a gorgeous historic home, built in 1921 in a super upscale neighborhood in Oakland (in the hills). I asked my client if any of the Oakland crime had made it into his neighborhood (the same neighborhood where I was taken after my birth in Peralta hospital in 1955) . A very, very, nice neighborhood. Without hesitation … he said …as a matter of factly … “yeah, my car was stolen from my driveway”.

Sorry … but I grew up when black culture was an admirable thing. Black culture that had melded FULLY into American society. It had its own flavor … but it was FULLY part of the American culture. This was the FANTASTIC black culture I grew up with. It was fully part of the American culture. Yeah, Soul Train was “separate” from American Bandstand … but it was simply a black cultural offshoot.
