You cannot reduce poverty because poverty is defined relative to the mean standard of living of the rest of society. The “poor” today live like kings compared to the middle class of merely thirty years ago.
Total bullshite. The poor today live in tent cities, are homeless.
The middle class of thirty years ago owned homes.
But they get free fent, needles, and a cup of coffee and soup when they go to the “supervised safe consumption site”.
Western Nations have the FATTEST most OVERfed poor people in recorded history. And EVERY homeless person living in a tent or shanty is getting a monthly check. Plus an EBT card. And probably many more checks.
Our government should be HONEST and provide a detailed accounting of where all our welfare, food stamp, housing allowances, and homeless funds go. How much $$ does each indigent get paid … and what is the overhead … salaries, bonuses, and benefits.

Governments don’t solve poverty, they institutionalize it.
