1. This is laughable. The “Russian Collusion” exercise was NOT initiated by partisan hostility. It was motivated by strategic efforts to sabotage a presidency by Hillary Clinton, the DOJ, and their subsidiary, the FBI. Partisan hostility implies revenge or vengeance. This was, very specifically, an effort to limit the abilities of the President by those who didn’t agree with his positions. While attempting to protect their own posteriors in the process from…oh I don’t know…how about all the hijinks that are being displayed on a daily basis in this second term.

   Missing from this piece is Bruce Ohr of the DOJ acting as a direct intermediary with Christopher Steele and passing Steele’s made up information (through the Clinton camp) onto the FBI without any corroboration. Not to mention that Bruce Ohr’s wife (Nellie Ohr) was, at that time, working for Fusion GPS (Clinton’s goto opposition research firm).

2. If I remember correctly, the dossier was deliberately leaked to a news organization. The purpose of this was to make it an item worth investigating. See, it’s not a rumour or some weird bullshit, it’s a news story now. Gotta investigate if there is any truth to it right? McCain also sent a staffer to England to get a copy of the dossier and made sure the FBI had a copy (of course he need not have bothered). At the time I thought it was Quid Pro Quo for Obama going to England and opposing Brexit publicly. Comey went to brief Trump on the matter. That is the excuse he gave. In reality he conducted the brief as an interrogation hoping Trump would say something that could incriminate himself (just like he did with Flynn). Comey filled out the paperwork in the limo right after the “interview” while it was fresh in his mind. Sez who? Said Comey. He bragged about it.
