Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

I couldn’t tell if that was Rosemary Barton or a milking cow.
Milking cows are a net positive for humanity.
She can use a Ramadan or 2.
Daily. I hate to attack someone’s looks, but since she is such a lying, deceptive propagandist, all civilities are off.
Agreed .. therefore ….
Rosemary Barton looks like she could be related to Jabba the Hutt. She seems to have have a gluttonous aura about her. She personifies the CBC.
If winning more than double the seats of all the other parties combined isn’t a “super majority,” then what is?
Remind me again why we pay to support the Liberal party news organ a few billion dollars?
Barton is a driveling idiot. It is a sweeping majority win. And that’s no small feat for his third election win. Very few governments ever win three back-to-back-to-back majority governments. What it shows conclusively that Ontario voters like what Ford has done since throwing out the Liberals under Wynne in 2018. Voters added to his majority in 2022 and have returned about the same size majority government today. It should be noted that arguably Ontario’s most popular Premier Bill Davis never won three majority governments.
Sorry, Rosie, you fat cow, you lose. It means Ontarians do prefer Doug Ford to your driveling at the CBC. It means that Ontarian are reasonably satisfied that Ford got the province through Covid without too much damage. It means that Ontarians want Ford to deal with the problem posed by the Trump tariffs, NOT YOU or any nonsense you spout.
Only problem is that Ford and his government is not living up to his party’s name. He is not truly conservative. In fact, Rosie, Ford has capitulated more times to the opposition than any governing party that I can remember. To say that he “is not responsive” is a complete and total fabrication on your part.
Ford is a useless tit. He’s a puppet . Surprised he made it.
Guess his 200.00 bribe really worked.
Mostly it is that the alternatives were so bad as to be unthinkable. Barton is so bad she sees the word “conservative” and it is like waving a red flag in front of a bull, sorry for the mis gendering Rosie, and she reflexively recoils in horror. Ford is a liberal in all but name, no principles and spend now pay never fiscal policy.
Agree
Aye. Rosie Cowfart and Douggie the nutless Steer. Must get kind of crowded when those two are shouldering each other for a lick at turdo’s arse. Good thing they’re de-horned.
“Only problem is that Ford and his government is not living up to his party’s name. He is not truly conservative. ”
Not in the least. ‘Progressive’ Conservative = Liberal Lite.
Poilievre is not much better.
There was only 43% turnout, I suspect a high % of turnout are people like me who are old enough to remember Bob Rae, Dalton McGuinty, and Kathleen Wynne.
cghCOLON
And Davis = A$$HOLE
Ford = A$$HOLE
There’s that!
And… Oh, never mind!
All Canadian mainstream media people are worthless pieces of garbage that should be rolled down ski jumps inside flaming oak barrels half-filled with rabid rats. GoPro footage of the inside of the barrels would provide the only worthwhile content of their careers.
i spit my drink thru my nose ,,,brilliant!!!
Ok. Now, what’s Ford’s position on the CBC issue, and what is the Ontario voter’s position on the CBC issue?
He is too focused on Trump to have any position on CBC.
Rosie really thinks he will take her advice?? lol
As a long time PC supporter I could not vote that way today.
Ford has kissed up to Trudeau too many times and now he has the useless obsession with Trump.
I did vote.
Some will call it a wasted vote, or a protest vote. But I voted with a clear conscience.
Good for you. We should all vote according to our principles and values, regardless of the anticipated result.
Aye. Otherwise you make your principals and values meaningless.
Yes, but my principles and values are meaningless in the first place, so I can vote as I like.
The CBC News department should be dropped immediately. The blatant bias it shows proves it is not a professional entity.
If the CBC continues to exist It should only create shows such as it did back in the 60s and 70s such as the Friendly Giant and information shows that aren’t ideologically biased.
If that can’t be done. Shut it down completely.
The CBC news department is a professional entity. It professes its political bias consistently and sincerely.
Forest Rangers. Ivanhoe
oh, please … the sour grapes run through every one of her sentences. Ford and Daniel Smith can probably make some good things happen.
Note to Rosemary: a majority is a good election win.
Canadians need more of our own factories, as there have been too many recalls.
It was a disappointing night—for the Tories. By rights they should have won over 90 seats tonight, perhaps over 100.
As it is, they’ll have 80 will be one whole extra Tory arse in a seat at Queen’s Park. Turns out slagging off Donald Trump, a hero in much of Ford Nation, and swanning around in Liberal/PRChinese red is a good way to convince enough of Ford Nation to stay home on election day (or vote New Blue or Ontario Party in protest) to save the bacon of the Dippers.
Meanwhile, even if Bonnie Crombie lost her own race, her party regained five seats and official party status, and whipped the NDP in the popular vote by over 11 points.
The Ontario Liberals are back. Thanks a lot, Doug.
With almost all (8,073 out of 8,079) polls reporting:
Seat count, versus projection at 338canada.com:
PC 80, down 3 from 2022 (expected 92, up 9)
NDP 27, down 4 (expected 16, down 15)
Lib 14, up 5 (as expected)
Green 2, up 1 (as expected)
Bobbi Ann Brady 1 (as expected)
People Who Work For A Living and Believe in God shut out (as expected)
Vote share relative to 2022:
PC 43.0%, up 2.2% (expected 46%, up 5%)
Lib 29.9%, up 6.0% (expected 28%, up 4%)
NDP 18.6%, down 5.1% (expected 18%, down 6%)
Green 4.8%, down 1.2% (expected 6%, unchanged)
Bobbi Ann 0.7%, up 0.4%
People Who Love Their Children More Than They Hate Trump 3.0%, up 0.7%
Aside that it’s always nice to see CBC tears after an election, there was 45.4% turnout – about 1.5% more than the 2022 election. I suppose Ford will claim a mandate and don the Captain Canada garb as he takes on Canada’s mortal enemy, but he didn’t even get 20% of the available vote.
Give CBC credit where it is due. They are good servants to their paymaster.
Since his actions during Covid and his insane bluster on Trump, not to mention a few more really bad things here in Ontario like RECORD CRIME and homeless living in the parks, I’m pretty proud to say I voted for Bobbi Ann Brady today, and she has won her seat.
Because #BlubberDouggie is basically a mobster. And a buffoon. I could not in good conscience vote for his party.
Now we get to see a hundred billion bucks flushed down the brand new tunnel under the 401. Yay.
It wasn’t even close in that riding, with Bobbi Ann beating the PC candidate by more than two to one. She probably will have that seat now for as long as she wants it, and by all accounts deserves to.
Chasing “soft” Liberal voters doesn’t work. They’ll always vote for the real Liberal in the end. There is no choice but to appeal to the people who do all the actual work worth anything to anyone and pay all the taxes, and give them a reason to get to the polls.
Tories win when they run as the party of the average Joe, and against Joe’s ex-wife whom Joe is still supporting with his taxpayer dollars that go to paying her to turn up to a busywork job, a much easier way to fund her lifestyle than staying married to Joe (the organization doesn’t insist on Girl Fridays being chaste or even willing to do the little real work they’re asked to do).
Straight men who work for a living vote PC. Such men are not afraid of Trump. The silly women and sissies who thought Justin Trudeau was God are afraid of Trump.
All Doug had to do to get straight men who work for a living to go to the polls and give him 100 seats was to let Bonnie and Marit do the ranting and raving about the Orange Horror and focus on what straight men who work for a living care about. How difficult would that have been?
I suspect that like me, many people in Ontario held their noses and voted for Ford. Who else were we going to vote for? Liberals or NDP’s? I don’t like Ford at all, but no other options.
Meh…I was up late the night before into the sauce with a bunch of colleagues, left work early and went straight to bed. Besides, I’m still pissed at Dougie over his Covid response and he turned out too much like a red Tory. No one else on the ticket worth a toss so I probably would’ve spoiled my ballot anyway.
At least my hangover is gone. Can’t say the same for Bonnie.

Fat Ford beats the living shit out of the opposition and he should see it as a warning because he never won all the seats. CBC sure does like their talking heads to be stupid.
What is this PC Party that everyone keeps talking about? PC stands for Political Correctness in my universe and I have no idea why any real conservative would associate themselves with such an abbreviation.
If there were any true conservatives in Ontario they would surely rid their part of this ridiculous and semantically contradictory adjective, no?
Maybe they are not real conservatives…
Way cool that Bonnie “Dhimmi” Crombie lost her seat BTW.
No one remembers today, but there was an organized socialist revolution in the West after the First World War. The United Farmers established themselves as the voice of the farm community and took control of the governments in Alberta and Saskatchewan, acting in the name of the econonomically dominant class. Manitoba was too urban for a purely farm movement to succeed, and in Manitoba the farmers formed a coalition with those urban elements that weren’t tied by interest to the banks and the railroads – most significantly, with the schoolteachers and the civil service. The result was the Progressive Party, which formed the center of Manitoba politics for a third of a century. Premier John Bracken was considered to be running the best government in the country when the Conservatives recruited him to lead the federal party, and he insisted that they treat his hiring as a merger of parties, and the Conservatives became the PCs. Interestingly a chunk of the party joined the Liberals, and the Liberal Progressives had a very successful Government in Manitoba in the 1950s.
This Albertan really doesn’t care about Ontario politics other than to note that they tend to elect one party provincially they always voter the other party federally. They may have a progressive conservative in Toronto but they will have Liberal in Ottawa or vice versa. Doug Ford is only competent when compared to the ones who ran against him but we have a federal election coming in the not too distant future. Will Ontario elect Mark Carney? Nothing we in the west can do about it if Ontario votes Liberal.
“They may have a progressive conservative in Toronto but they will have Liberal in Ottawa…”
Aye. In other words, they vote for the same thing.
If Pierre wins, and then pulls a Harper and is told he may not dismantle the CBC, then he should at least rename it something honest. And figure out a way to make it irreversible by a future government.
I would rechristen it, “The State Communist Propaganda Network”.
It’s really quite remarkable that Ford won. His record in office is awful. Unemployment, housing, his crony capitalism. His association with the LPC and the Bong. He’s been a disaster.
I give it to him tho. A win is a win. Wrapping himself in flag? He’s the guy to fight the tariffs and DJT? Bullshit.
PP take note.
I guess Ms Barton doesn’t know what a “majority” is. When you have 30 plus more seats, that’s a substantial majority. And as far as the elected guy listening to and being accountable to the opposition, has she said that about Justin?
