I ran across this very apt and well phrased tweet from Ottawa lawyer David Anber today. Unfortunately, this mindset pretty much describes about half the people I know right now. I also noticed the vitriol directed at Wayne Gretzky today due to his apparent friendship with Trump. It’s as if his achievements as a hockey player must be rendered instantly unworthy due to any association with Orange Man.
I know who Wayne Gretzky is. Who is David Anber? Who did he play for? Why should I listen to him?
He’s projecting a little, in Canada being a third rate Librano lawyer pays pretty good, damn near every one of them must be on some type of Fed contract, with all the “consulting” fees being processed, plus there are judgeships for the real hacks. What are his prospects in the US? They have plenty of lawyers already.
Anber is no Liberal. He defended a number of people involved in the Ottawa convoy protests.
The Liberals and their shills in the media are ramping up the anti-Trump, anti-America rhetoric in a concerted effort to save Canada from our own version of Trump, the equally fascistic Pierre Polievre, who bears as much resemblance to Trump as PeeWee Herman does to Mike Tyson.
Canadian voters are naive, uninformed and ignorant of the Liberal machine that has run Canada for the last 60 plus years, and many of them are stupid enough to be convinced that only Mark Carney can save us.

I don’t want to join the U.S.A. but there are worse things to be part of and Canada has the potential to become for me, one of those worse things. The Liberals are leading us on the latter path.
I hope that what President Trump is stirring up here goads us to become a much better version of Canada, but if Alberta goes, I think Saskatchewan should go, too.

As I mentioned earlier, Trumps rhetoric has given ™Trudope and the Liberal Party oxygen. It is unnecessary (rhetoric) and quite frankly childish.
I respect Trump as a leader, who does what he says for the betterment of his country, which is why most like him, but at the end of the day I am a patriot and Canadian who can only look on in envy at what Trump is doing and wondering when our conservative politicians will grow a pair.
As for all this Western separation background noise, it is just that, noise.

Canada has an aging population including Alberta requiring more “free” healthcare.
This issue alone would sway any separation vote to the no side.
The west gave us this healthcare system, and looking at the last Albertan election results, doesn’t instill great confidence that even in the west, things will change dramatically.
So your options are , move, emigrate or go live off the land in the wilderness.
I will remain and try to move the needle to the right, each and every day.
Brother in law, while in eastern Canada some years back, before our taxes even got higher, was chatting with a American doctor. The doctor told him that he could buy the best US healthcare package and have money left over for a second car with what CDNs pay in taxes for their “health” care. Plus, get that care pronto, not a few years from now.
But, Canada’s the best. How do I know? Ask any “mainstream” Canadian you might find.
