  2. Strange how these terrible fires get so big at night. In a country without free speech, I cannot say more.

    1. How is it strange that fire should grow at night? Fire can sense that the light is missing. Fire responds out of natural kindness: “I bring light! I bring light! is more light needed?”

  3. News is supposed to be new, if California isn’t going to come up with anything better than another fire burning down their own houses, well that gets kinda boring, if they’re not going to do anything about it why should I care?

    Don’t you read the … “fact checkers”? Trump said Gavin Newsom “turned off the spigot of water going south”. Fact: there is no “spigot” controlling water going south in CA. And a “spigot” is too small to make any difference in water volume.

    1. My opinion (as if anyone cares) … Crawdaddy is what CA used to be. Home to a FREE people who could actually afford to live (however semi-homeless) in the most beautiful places on earth … living a near-hobo lifestyle … reminding us all of just how much JOY we forfeit in the rat race of our upward mobility.

      He was surfing every day on beaches that rich people pay $thousands/night on a VRBO just to enjoy for a brief weekend stay, where Crawdaddy spent each day of his life. He had carved out, and worked out his own existence… on his terms. That, my friend, is TRUE freedom. He died with his soul intact, on his terms. RIP my CA friend.

  8. I am a big believer in “signs from God” – a number of which I have received over my life. I pay attention and I would think these fires would qualify as “signs from God” to get the heck out of California. Take the insurance money (if you do have insurance) and run far away.

    1. We’re very, very, close Big Mommy. Very, very close. And add to that my PG&E bill for daring to heat my home to 61deg.F … and my water bill that PUNISHES anything beyond lifeline usage in their multi-tiered rate tables.

      Sadly, there are economic triggers that need to be pulled so we can leave with adequate money in our pockets. I pray Trump successfully pulls those triggers.

    2. BM: l articulated this once recently a men’s prayer meeting with a
      very stark example back in the mid 80s.
      had a chance take a training course in CNC or whatsits computer numerical control manufacturing.
      it was a big thing at the annual computer shows.
      it was either a turning point or a dead end. l put out a thought prayer in the admin office where l just singed up. give me a sign Lord, give me a sign.
      as l left the room. a Time magazine on the table. a big name US politician and the headline ‘biggest mistake he ever made’.

      got home and much to the chagrin of the EU agent l cancelled.
      that stuff all went overseas by the time l may have made a run of it.
      instead we moved and l put in about 5 years as electricians helper and that proved invaluable in this place where at one point every time l opened an elec box there was a ‘problem’ to fix. which l recognized and then knew how.

      the clarity and obvious nature of the encounter was striking.
