Pleasing Your Enemies Does Not Turn Them Into Friends

From fellow Saskie, Lise Merle;

Why on God’s green earth is Saskatchewan aligning with the Trudeau government and Doug “Canada is not for sale” Ford?

Saskatchewan Ag products are for sale. Saskatchewan’s natural resources are for sale. Saskatchewan tech is for sale. Saskatchewan O&G is for sale.

Why did Saskatchewan sign a letter that beholdens us to ‘Team Canada’ when ‘Team Canada’ has done precious little to support ‘Team Saskatchewan’? This, while our sister province of Alberta outright refused, and is left to fend off the federal government without our support.

The federal government along with perpetual “have not” provinces have economically, culturally, and societally abused Saskatchewan for the last 120 years and its beyond disappointing Scott Moe would handcuff us to their sinking ship over supporting our own people, neighbors, industries and interests.

It’s no secret that SaskParty is in the midst of an identity crisis, but never has its Liberal leanings and perverse proclivities been on such embarrassing public display. It’s high time for a course correction, and for the people of this great province to Take Back Saskatchewan. Before we go down with the sinking ‘Team Canada’ ship.

Amen.

  1. Saskatchewan, has no one noticed that historically the province has been a bastion of socialism, anyone?

    1. Seems it wasn’t too many years ago that this very site showed a map of all the Alberta oilfields that came came to a sudden stop at the Sask border.

Methinks those socialists will be back.

  2. Where’s Brad Wall? What is he saying? Does he have the ear of any of these buffoons, can he take Moe out behind the woodshed and give him a proper whopping?

    1. I prefer Colter Wall, Brad’s cowboy poet son, who wrote a little ditty that contained this line: “Go about your earthly mission, and don’t trust no politician.”

  3. Like Brad Wall, Scott Moe is not a conservative, and is, as is Brad, a federalist. That means the rest of Canada is more important to them and their provincial party than Saskatchewan will ever be. Really should be called the Progressive Conservative & Liberal Party of Saskatchewan.
And do not forget that every single one of the MP’s from Saskatchewan (all “conservatives”) gave an actual Nazi a standing ovation, twice, in the liberal Parliament.
    Wexit is the way.

    1. Not an actual Nazi. An actual Ukrainian hero. Tell us how long you’re worshipped Comrade Stalin as a a god.

  4. Moe sees what kind of treatment Albert is in for and wants no part of it. Disappointing but understandable. It won’t buy him any votes though.

    1. In other words, Moe is a coward, cowering to the Liberal Lauretian elite, cowering to Justine Turdeau, and has no faith in the people of Saskatchewan. Just move to Ottawa Moe, and fellate JT full time, you pathetic little POS.

    2. It’s throwing your friends under the bus to impress the kewl kids. It never works though. Those kewl kids you so desperately want to join up with will not accept you. Your now ex-friends won’t take you back. It’s a scenario repeated over and over and no one learns the lesson.

  5. According to The Regina Leader Post—” Both Sask. Premier Scott Moe and Albert Premier Danielle Smith have rejected the idea of any measures that would affect Canada’s energy exports to the United States”—-Article published Jan.15 ,2025!

A suggestion Premier Moe—-leave the table of premiers now! It is fast becoming the shit show with Trudeau now blaming Albert’s Premier of not being a Team Player! Trudeau ruined Canada and now wants to ruin the West!
Danielle Smith is the WEST Hero!

  6. It was going to be a shit show as soon as it was confirmed that Justin Trudeau would be there

  7. As someone else said…..there is no Team Canada.
The last time there was a real Team Canada their bank accounts were frozen.

    1. L- +++, A majority of Saskies supported the Freedom Convoy and are still searching for
political representation. Timid doesn’t cut it in a fight for survival against totalitarian
globalists, who are already inside the castle walls.

The purpose of free speech is so bad/failed ideas get to die instead of people. Lise Merle is
an alpha female who understands that. It’s going to be a long tough fight here. The Iron Lady
Is a natural. leader, with populist appeal. If both Saskatchewan and Alberta unite, either
such strong leadership will inspire the rest of Canada or at least Western Canada will still be
      standing when the dust settles.

  8. Trudeau has led Canada to unprecedented losses. This forray will be no exception.
    Team Trudeau has to go!

  9. A ton of blame rightly goes to Scott Moe and his advisors, maybe that Trump hating, covid fearing John Gormley still has his ear.
But a bunch need to go to Saskatchewan voters. What a bunch of misinformed, ignorant fools we have living here, and I’m just talking about the so called conservatives. I’ve got several relatives in South West Sask that can’t even see what’s going on and are all Orange Man bad like it’s still 2016. There’s a culture shift underway and we’re sadly getting left behind. Might as well let the NDP back in to finish us off.

  10. Obviously Canada isn’t working for any of us. The solution is to dissolve the federation, get rid of the federal government and let every province chart its own course. We’d all be better off and probably hate each other less.

Canada is not a real country. Canada is nothing more than the entity that governs the northern part of North America. It has changed a lot over the last 500 years and nothing says it can’t keep changing.

  11. This whole “Team Canada” is a colossal disaster. Trudeau is the lamest lame duck ever. He sort of resigned but not really. The public do not want him or his surrogates heading up this team of incompetents. Daniel Smith is the only leader who has a clue and a backbone. Scott Moe needs to call a press conference indicating in no uncertain terms that he will have nothing to do with this Trudeau clown show. Today is the 17th of January. Four days from now there will be a run on the CDN dollar the likes of which will be catastrophic. Team Canada will also have the runs and will need their pants changed. Moe needs to get out now.

    1. it now costs over $30 canadian to buy $20 American dollars….. the run on the canadian dollar has been happening for some time now ….. and it’s going to get much worse …..

  12. I would guess the reason for the support to “Team Canada” is that your premier (and probably a lot of the poeple around him) are controlled opposition to lull Saskatchewanians(?) to believe that you voted in someone who would fight for you…but when the chips are down and votes count–they side with your enemies. Like that scene in Braveheart when the Scotch lords and their cavalry leave the field when William Wallace signals their cavalry to take the field. Too bad you folks can’t do what Wallace did to the traitors afterwards.

    1. I call them commie-lite socialists …. they don’t even realize they are commies and will insist they are socialists 😉

  13. If any Sask Conservative types read this, please know that none of us are pleased with Doug Ford since Covid. Bro shot his bolt then, and has been dead to us ever since. His current stupidity is him realizing he’s lost the plot, and the voters, and desperately trying to get it back.

He’s an idiot. Don’t do what he’s doing.

    1. Some of us have always known he was an idiot. The first election I made a deliberate choice to sit out was Ford running for the cons. I wasn’t not going to vote con, but I wasn’t going to vote for Ford either.

    2. Moe’s response to covid was disappointing too. It marked the first time I was barred from entering a liquor store since I was 17.

      1. In Alberta, all the essential services like pot stores, liquor stores, and casinos remained open. Luxuries like haircuts were illegal.

  14. Maybe we should cut Moe some slack?
The words are soft, but will Saskatchewan cut their own throat ,financially,to serve Trudeau’s Canada?

Actions, these will tell the true story.

And Moe has a history of appearing to agree, until he doesn’t.
Is he trolling Trudeau’s “Team Canada”?
Is the message to the hysterical Premiers..”We help you..Super Good” as he escapes Ottawa?

    1. NO. Some things require principle. Waiting while Smith takes the heat to see which way the wind blows is cowardice. Full stop.

  15. This is all on Trudeau’s policies this past 10 years.
    If these energy projects were not cancelled, we would be in a much better place;
    In BC
    – Grassy Point LNG $10B
    – West Coast Canada LNG $25B
    – Aurora LNG $28B
    – Prince Rupert LNG $11B
    – PNW LNG $11B
    – Kwispaa LNG $18B
    In Alberta:
    – Frontier Oilsands Mine $20B
    – Aspen Oilsands $2.6B
    – Dunkirk Oilsands $2.4B
    And others
    Quebec
    – Saguenay LNG $4B
    NWT/Alberta
    – MacKenzie Valley Gas Pipeline $16B
    Alberta New Brunswick
    – Energy East $16B
    Alberta BC
    – Northern Gateway $8B

As it stands now Alberta cannot cut off the US as the pipeline supplying Ontario comes out of the US.
If half these projects were started they would be online nby now and Canada would be so much better off.

    F*ck Trudeau
    F*ck Carbon Tax Carney

    1. Great Comment Bob!!!!
Trudeau, Guilbeault, Wilkinson, Climate barbie, and someone that has NO appetite for our oil Legault can fight without our Oil Industry!
“We have no appetite for oil from de WEST”—LEGAULT

  16. I moved to Alberta 20 years ago. I started two businesses here with my Canadian wife, and I regularly travel to the US for family and business – so I’m all for opening up that particular border. If Team Canada suddenly only consisted of “have-not” provinces, how long would it last? Could it last? I honestly don’t know how possible Wexit is – but if you lose Alberta as one of the cash cows, what does that mean for the other “Have” provinces that stayed behind? I can conceive of no universe where “work on securing the border” is a less attractive option than “entering a trade war with the US” for Canada. Shouldn’t allied countries that share a border want it to be secure? Isn’t it in the best interests of both countries? Could Trudeau stop banning .22 plinkers if the border was more secure? There are so many questions, so much posturing, and so little concern over what is best for people just trying to make a living in Canada. It’s incredible how Canada is a “post-national” country right up until rank jingoism becomes necessary to lend some semblance of credibility to a failed government.

  17. “Let’s Make Saskatchewan Manitoba Again.”

To the sound of an out of tune banjo.

  18. The real scary part is we have leaders priorizing a trade war over addressing the issues. We are a member of NATO who doesn’t fulfill our finacial commitment. Immigration and border security are a mess. Our response is to fight with our best customer – always a winning strategy. But a lot of politicians are going to get the boot,so a wedge issue is needed. None of the leaders will have their wages cut and in fact they believe it may help them keep their jobs. Why does what could possibly go wrong cotinuely go through my mind?

    1. Concur
Rather than head into a gun fight armed with a pair of safety scissors it would be far wiser and productive to address the concerns Trump premised the tariff threats on.
      It’s about border integrity
      Act in good faith.
One suggestion would be to sign a lend lease agreement to immediately obtain the military capability to patrol the northern coast under the ice.
      Yes talking about nuclear subs
Doing something like that sends a strong signal to Trump that we are taking his concerns seriously.
      But I digress
I wonder why nobody at the table suggested cutting off the US from the electricity supply coming from Newfoundland vis Quebec?

  19. Rusty is right.
Individual Provinces or “States” are the answer.
If we don’t have Rigorous agreements to pipelines, and vital infrastructure that can be ENFORCED against the Professional protestors and FILTHY MARXISTS, like now, WHAT IS THE POINT OF CANADA?
The only good Marxist is a dead Marxist

  20. The only reason Canada exists is because upper and lower Canada hated the Americans more than they hated each other.
    “Confederation” NO. It’s a CON-federation.
The golden triangle (Ont-Que-Ottawa) pretends to be “team Canada” to facilitate the continuing parasitic rape of its colonies.
Moe, you are a steer. Grow some.
    Free the West

    1. Another reason was that the US was on a buying spree and after a successful purchase of Alaska the nabobs of upper and lower Canada were freaking out that the mother country was ready to sell off a good portion of the BNA (aka that sparsely populated territory out west) to pay off their ginormous war debt accumulated from foreign wars in Afghanistan, India, and the Crimea. If they hadn’t got the deal done by the end of that year the “Canada’s” would have not gone past the northern reaches of Georgian Bay.

  21. Don’t say I didn’t tell you guys.
Just because SK doesn’t vote liberal in federal elections doesn’t mean SK is conservative. The good folks in Regina and Saskatoon has shown all of you that SK is just as woke, and just as regressive as their eastern counterparts in redneck Ottawa, the rest of Ontario, and Quebec.
I fully support my new premier, and my new habitat in south-east Alberta, and I wish more people in SK would wake up. Wake up as to how the feds back east have treated you. Wake up and demand a new country.

As a side note, these knuckle-head premiers — Ford and Legault particularly — threatening to cut off energy supplies to the US in retaliation for tariffs that may (or may not, but probably) come, is almost literally cutting off your nose to spite your face! I’m sure all of you who read pipeline on line is familiar with Enbridge’s Line 5 pipeline… you know… the pipeline that runs through the state of Michigan to deliver gas to Ontario, and connects with Line 9 to deliver gas to Quebec.
So how do you think the US will react when suddenly, Canada shuts down all energy support to the US?
    Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Anyone???
I almost want to see it happen. Let them freeze back east, and while they’re freezing, let’s liberate the West from the fed’s tyranny.
    I want a new country!

    1. They will consider it a threat to national security and it will give both houses the excuse to allow the executive to take all necessary actions to maintain the supply.
Let your mind dance on what that can be and how all this could have been avoided.

    2. Because Ford and Legault figure it’s no hair off of their a$$es to cut off energy exports. Alberta only will suffer.

    3. In addition to Line 5, when the St Lawrence is frozen over (Canada ya know) oil is delivered to Central Canada (as an easterner I insist on the distinction) through pipelines from the eastern US seaboard. Thus Central Canada gets its oil from the states and these geniuses are going to cut who off?
      Shoulda built Energy East.
In a Trump-Trudeau conflict we can’t do anything about Trump but we can get rid of Trudeau

  22. This forum is like a bunch of welfare renters arguing over who owns the Landlords house. The Crown OWNS Canada. Canada is the private personal possession of King Charles, as are the other Commonwealth Realms. He owns every square inch and everything within it. Why not argue for Canadian independence like the USA did? Why not seize ownership of your country and reorganize as a Constitutional Republic? Why do rank and file Canadian Subjects insist on being lorded over by a Monarch and his inner circle of loyalists? The King appoints the PM and all the Premiers. They never appear anywhere on a ballot anywhere, yet no one ever acknowledges this and if they do they argue like that tenant I was speaking about earlier. Canada needs to arm up and grow a set.

    1. “Canada is the private personal possession of King Charles”

Simply bullshit. The king has two real functions. One is to appoint the Governor General that the Prime Minister recommends. If he refused, William might well be offered the crown of Canada. The only one other power is to allow the appointment of 4 or 8 extra senators if they are required to pass legislation. We’ve heard from the Scary King Guy. Where’s the Scary Privy Council Guy?

    2. Why not seize ownership of your country and reorganize as a Constitutional Republic?

Easy: because the [spit] Progs (Commies, Lieberals, Greenies) don’t want to give up their power.

  23. Trudeau has announced himself as the first “Post-National Nationalist” and somehow decided picking a fight with the US is a good idea.

Ford decided to join in with his “Canada is not for sale*” hats, while announcing that the province wants to shut down it’s grid and keep ontarians without hydrocarbons and power.

/* to the Americans, other countries are allowed to buy up our miners/farmland/etc.

  24. “Canada has the housing prices of New York (avg. 450K USD)

the wages of Mississippi (avg. $39,500 USD/yr)

the economy of Alabama (Real GDP $47k USD per person)

and taxes higher than all 50 US states“

    (Stolen from ‘Tablesalt’ twitter guy)

    Go team…

    1. It’s rough when you draw the specific parallels…our taxes sure are great aren’t they?! Value for money.

    1. In that photo at the bottom of the report Ford and Moe look like supplicants meeting the Pope. It’s disturbing.

It’s easy to hide behind words, but not so easy to not hide one’s natural reaction to seeing someone you consider a superior, like a celebrity.

  25. Why on God’s green earth is Saskatchewan aligning with the Trudeau government and Doug “Canada is not for sale” Ford?

Because Tommy Douglas wasn’t wrong. His thesis really should have been titled The Problems of the Subnormal Province. There is something deeply wrong with the population here – low IQ, low impulse control, no experience of the world beyond their immediate daily fixes of whatever behaviours and substances tickle their few dopamine receptors, and dangerously susceptible to whatever wind is blowing from easily accessible misinformation. There are amazing people here, but there are not enough of them. There are not enough Kates.

As others have said, there’s cowardice on the part of the politicians. But those politicians also know that far too many in our population are simple-mined and not just naieve, but downright incapable of complex thought or thinking beyond their daily routines.

  26. Scott Moe’s political philosophy is incomplete. He doesn’t have core beliefs unlike Danielle Smith. He went along with the crowd because he didn’t know what to do – and when it came to make a choice his muddled thinking failed him, as it always does when you have undeveloped core philosophy. It’s classic liberal thinking. Values don’t matter, winning is all there is.

  27. It seems obvious to me that the woke left has created the woke right. Everyone is a victim. Collectively, we need to keep the pressure on the Cons to turn it around during this coming government cycle. Stop trying to claim victimhood and looking like 10 ply.
Nobody loves a wuss. Real Canucks aren’t wusses.

  28. all the sask farm boys with intelligence and get up and go left sask decades ago for Alberta …. my Father was one ….. that’s a resource you will never get back!
