  2. What happened? She failed to take her daily meds? She was kinda twitchy yesterday-2 days ago. I mean more than usual, she’s always twitchy.

      There’s a statement on the budget coming up. The deficit was supposed to be held at $40B, but speculation is that it will be closer to $60B. Trudeau needs her to take the blame. It’s all her fault, you see, not Trudeau’s and by turfing her, he signals that he’s the responsible leader who will get the country’s finances back on track.

      There’s an election coming up, after all.

      But the niggling detail is that she only did so over something that affected her. All the other egregious acts by Trudeau were apparently a ok as far as she was concerned.

      This is an example of how criminal conspiracies fall apart.
      It’s not because someone has a come to Jesus moment, no, it’s because one of the conspirators or several of them see themselves as not receiving a fair cut for their efforts or they see one of the other participants taking more than their fair share.
      In this case it wasn’t the request to resign that got her panties in a twist, it was that she wasn’t going to get fair compensation for taking a bullet for the boss.
      If this was about doing the right thing what would have happened yesterday would be Freeland leading a breakaway caucus of 30 liberal MP’s that were ready to sit in opposition until Trudeau resigned the leadership and his seat.
      But she didn’t
      And none of the other cabinet ministers did either.
      So what she did yesterday was a public tantrum.
      And Trudeau is still in power until Jagmeet qualifies for his pension.

Since she’s resigned, who will deliver the economic update? House shuts down tomorrow for 5 weeks, so does that mean if none delivered by closing time, the seriousness of the fiscal mess can be kept ‘under wrap’.

        I really can’t wait for the next election when the NDP can be held accountable by the union members that were just forced back to work at Canada Post.
        I think it’s too much to hope that both the NDP and Liberals will be reduced to zero seats because NDP voters are the most delusional bunch of people on the planet so they’ll just move their vote over to the Liberals.

    Is Freeland’s public letter a way to get both Carney into Finance Minister and Justin to have an excuse, consider not running for re-election? Then Trudeau walks in the snow in Feb and resigns, opening the door for Carney to take the leadership?
    Frazer retiring, means one less to compete for P.M. in leadership race. Freeland wouldn’t run either, unless she runs, then turns to support Carney.
    Carney takes a harder line on finances, in hopes to be elected.
    The only hope for the Laurentian Liberals is Carney to take leadership, still a longshot, but a chance for a minority gov’t.
    The Turd will be on his merry way, Carney will be new leader, and Freeland will retain a certain amount of power with her good friend Carney.

    Pierre is saying the ball is in the NDP and Singh’s court now, there’s no indication of the NDP withdrawing support regardless of how bad the economic situation is… the NDP has always said they’ll never support a party which sets aside a union / worker agreement, and the postal workers have just been sent back to work, saying their contract has now been extended for about 4 more months.
