    Obviously, Keith Olbermann and that fellow Madcow.

  2. It would be tough for the modern left to replicate a joe rogan or jordan peterson type of podcast. The left has lost the ability to communicate effectively, use humor, listen to regular people and debate.

    Instead of real communication they mock and bully. Their ever growing list of offensive words and cancel culture makes humor and jokes impossible. The left is openly hostile to the opinions of working and middle class people, preferring to insult and ignore instead of listen. They scold and lecture people instead of trying to convince anyone through debating ideas

    Arrogance, elitism and obnoxious behaviour is the left’s preferred tactics. This is not how get people to listen to your ideas.

    1. The left can’t debate with normal people because all their ideas are idiotic or insane. This is why they become a huge echo chamber of insanity.

      1. It’s a purity spiral. Adherents must become increasingly radical to signal their allegiance to the ideology. No diversity of thought or critical thinking allowed. Everyone outside of the virtuous circle is an enemy that must be defeated.

    l proceeded to logivally analyse things and navigate my way into a
    steallar and lucrative 20 yr career in IT. (because l think like a computer)
    it was that ‘filter’ of logic and analysis kept me away certainly from the bizarreness
    of extreme leftism.

  4. Joe Rogan started off somewhat to the left. The problem is that people on the left are more reluctant to have their ideas tested and challenged, so that they began avoiding Rogan’s show. As a result, the show drifted to the right, and so did Rogan

    1. No. That’s where you end up when your ideas are questioned and people use logic and science. It is not the “right” but rather just being normal. Joe just asks the obvious follow-up questions that the left are too afraid, stupid or corrupt to ask. They don’t like losing control of the narrative.

However, they picked at him, censored him, and called him a liar enough that he eventually had all of their crap he could take. His epiphany turned him into the biggest boon to free thinking since the signers of the Declaration of Independence, George Washington, and Abraham Lincoln. OK, maybe that’s a reach, but at least consider it.

  8. It amuses me that two big newspapers down under way, the Australian Financial Review and the New Zealand Herald generously proclaim the selected stories that are open for discussion each day. Trying desperately to control the narrative still. All stories should be open for discussion. Until they accept this they will continue to slowly die.

    When only the shared delusion is “acceptable speech” nothing of value to listeners will result.

  12. The Left has a Joe Rogan; namely Joe Rogan. He was a Bernie Bro and a supporter of Universal Basic Income. It’s really quite amazing that they drove him out of their party, over censorship, cancellations…..

    I conclude so far, since the election, watching CNN and others that the left is composed mainly of people who are incapable of critical thinking and too narcissistic to comprehend human nature. They are in my view, less intelligent. Trump has picked up a lot of Democrats so no, they are not all crazy.
    Speaking of Carville and just another example of lefty hypocrisy, his new show which was announced during the campaign is called « It’s about winning, stupid » based on his most famous quote: « It’s about the economy, stupid »…of course Trump was mainly running on the economy…All we knew about Harris was that she grew up in a middle class family, so Carville was probably not allowed to use his original quote even if he wanted to.
    Until the left can come to its senses and be the classical middle left of yore they will never have a popular podcast like Rogan, not even close.
    It’s a new dawn for the USA and the rest of western civilisation. The new renaissance in which the left are still on the side of the witchfinder general.

  16. A problem with the woke left is that they have no empirical rate-limiting principles. Empathy is nice but without empirically time-evolved core values to rein it in it gets absurd, devolving into nihilism. You hear this in the doomsday caterwauling post-election—the stupidity of empathy.

    1. Yeah, see my other response. A Classical Liberal left leaning program that was even handed, respectful and debated ideas could work. The current left is so far gone that they would never sanction that. They let the Crazies in then they let the Crazies take control.

    The free thinking left has also lost Musk, RF Kennedy Jr, Tulsi Gabbard, Nicole Shanahan and many more. For the extra L they took Liz Cheney, the Bushes and the McCain family.

  19. There are a number of things amusing about this “dilemma” on the left. First and foremost, I would encourage them to try. Not because I think they will succeed. They won’t. Some of you may recall the last time they tried this strategy. It was called Air America. It lasted a couple of years while it hemorrhaged massive investor funding by the usual suspects. Eventually, it ended up filing for Chapter 11 and was liquidated.

    The reason for it’s demise was obvious. The demographic they shot for doesn’t exist in the numbers pretended. The left is not a unified structure. It is a rag tag collection of self-interested one issue cliches. Many of these groups are diametrically opposed to other groups within same collective (homosexuals, Muslims, Jews). They can’t rally around a unified message (which explains the push for Socialism, btw). And, without a fundamental message, you can’t generate a cohesive all-encompassing audience. You can’t generate the ratings. In a capitalistic society, such an effort is doomed to fail (unless the government jumps in and props them up…looking at you Canada).

    So, yeah, I encourage the Left to try this…AGAIN. It’s like throwing money down a well.

    1. Here’s an addendum to the above (which makes me kind of giddy):

      There are a number of “Never-Trump” grifter organizations out there. For example, Bill Kristol’s Bulwark. Or George Conway’s, The Lincoln Project. These are made up of grifting GOP Establishment nitwits whole pretend and call themselves Conservative while championing liberal causes. The financing comes from the Left (usually benefactor billionaires). Currently, the have it pretty good. They get their cash in exchange for attempted sabotage on Conservative causes as they are paid to do.

      I suspect between now and the next general election, these guys are going to get a giant influx of investor funds, with the caveat of the investor having more control of the hiring process. Essentially, and eventually, the Leftist investors will dispose of the current grifters and replace them with their version of “Joe Rogan.” It will fail, miserably in time. But, the bonus is that the grifter GOP Estab. parties will be cast aside in the process. They will be purchasing a damaged brand.

    2. I largely agree with what you say. It amazes me that they were able to garner more than 10% support in the last election. The thing is they have these disparate (unreconcilable) groups believing in utopia if the just vote blue.

  21. No, because the left never develops critical thinking. They stay locked into the thought processes of adolescents. Most thinkers have moved away from the ideas of their youth and have come to grips with reality. They grew up in other words.

    Leftists see the world not as it is, but what they wish it was. That is why they embrace collectivism (socialism), group think and reject individual responsibility. Their life is driven by an incomplete philosophy, a rejection of reality.

        They weren’t as uptight as conservative women who had to be promised marriage and life long fidelity before they put out… so to speak. They were all in ‘education’ at university. A good place to hang out on the weekend.

    Not be crazy
    Be Honest
    Engage your guests with thoughtful dialog
    Be open to viewpoints other than your own
    Search for truth rather than pushing an agenda

    So no, the left can’t (won’t) do any of those things; as long as they continue to bully, gaslight and lie people will continue to tune them out.

    Lie-berals. Don’t know what they had. Luckily, unlike most Lie-berals, Rogan was able to think critically, and independently.

Charlamagne Tha Lenard McKelvey is the major podcaster on the Left, and initially comes across as a critical thinker, but suffers from the same ignorance and denialism which seems to attract half the population. They all share a common denominator; Individualism is the biggest threat to Big Government.
