ArriveCan managers yesterday abruptly announced they’d discovered thousands of “deleted” emails involving business with contractors now under RCMP investigation.
“We trust this clarifies any potential misinterpretation,” Erin O’Gorman, president of the Agency, wrote the Commons government operations committee.

I wonder what pressure made them decide that “finding” the emails was more important than keeping their details hidden from Canadians? As others have mentioned – did they find ALL of the emails, or just SOME of them? I don’t know enough about the forensic auditing of electronic communications to know if one can tell. OK, I lied – I don’t know ANYTHING about forensic auditing of electronic communications.

The bureaucrats tried to claim the records were deleted due to policy. Commoners must keep all records for seven years. If the records pertain to taxes, permission from CRA is required to destroy even after seven years.
