  1. Doing away with a rich relative is so old school. All you need now is a power of attorney.

  2. It’s got to be scary being disabled and poor in Canada. But maybe even scarier being disabled and rich.
You see a liberal smile they see a crocodile.

      1. Sick Friend of mine wanted to ask what does it cost to be euthanized in Canada?
Or if it’s just for Canadian citizens?
The official website doesn’t mention anything, neither do travel brochures. Please help me find the answers?

        1. We could send a few such travel brochures to interested parties in Parliament and Congress?

  3. Surprising, CTV Mediot speaking against gubmint policy. Or, is she suggesting the audaciousness of the disabled to NOT be considering MAID?

    1. It will start with the disabled but just like everything else that Leftists do, it will be expanded.

      Count on it.

My wife and I changed our wills and other documents to include no discussion of MAiD a couple of years ago. Our lawyer had never heard of anything like this.

Once we explained why, she said that she was going to ask other clients if it was something they may want to consider.

These are evil people trying to save money for the health “care” system and sound compassionate in the process.

      Trust no one.

      1. “trust no one” l remember the line from the 80s series ‘l, Claudius’.
        should have paid more attn.
very very few l trust and then onlt certain things dep on the individual.
this WILL be mandated at some point ‘for the greater good’.
leave a message of your own behind called take as many of them with you as you can.

    2. Mocking them like they’ll have a choice.
As the Prime Minister said “We have to make a choice … do we tolerate those people?”

MAID is evil. Doctors and others are aiding and abetting murder. Tommy Douglas’ desired government health service eliminating ‘subnormals’ is a sad coincidence.

      1. They’ve been doing it through abortion for years. Just another day at the office, and if there is one thing docs know in the Canadian system, its death. Much of it preventable, or more accurately delayable with quality years left.

my beloved 51 year old wife could tell you about it if she didn’t die 8 years ago from an unbelievable lack of care and accountability.

        1. Best wishes Peter. There are good ones and bad ones. We don’t know which of them fate has in store for us. Those earning wages from MAID and abortion have worse than a millstone around their neck awaiting.

        2. Hi Peter. Best wishes to you. I sent a message last night with some scripture contained in it but the censor prohibited the post. Oh well, I guess quoting the Bible is off limits on this website.

  4. All Leftists should donate their brains to science, so we can examine the abbynormalities …
    MAID it happen !!

      1. Nice to know I’ve amused someone other than myself …

If in fact you were amused. BTW … I got KICKED OFF the YouGov site PERMANENTLY … for making a similar comment that their moderators interpreted as a physical THREAT to the LIVES of Leftists … a) they cannot take a JOKE … b) they look for any excuse to CANCEL conservatives. There is NO free speech or free exchange of opinions/ideas on the internet … just everyone huddled in their philosophical silos

        1. True enough.
Kate does a pretty good job, free-speech-wise, IMHO.
          I’m not a free-speech absolutist.
There are all sorts of forms of speech that need to be cracked down on, from the old yelling “FIRE!” in a crowded theater, to uttering death threats, to fighting words, to incitement to riot or otherwise commit mayhem, to conspiracy to commit mayhem. These are all forms of speech.

          1. How about “hate” speech? Can I refuse to call a dude a chick? Some would extrapolate that to be “hate speech” …

          2. And some of them are words uttered in frustration with zero intent to harm. Tell me who is the arbitrator and what are their goals?

    1. “I feel fine, let’s go for a walk?”

      Hit with club,
“I can take him now” .
      Lolt lol ..

  5. I had thought of getting a “no MAID” tattoo on my chest. Cards and bracelets get (ahem) “misplaced”… ;o)

  6. Didn’t the Nazis do something similar? Started off with the disabled and then ran wild.

    1. Any society that ends up with the State as the center of society will end up there eventually, the socialists, communists and national socialists just happened to get there first.

You can hear the glee for the liberal brain trust to put us on that path too.

  7. One of my first comments here, over ten years ago, was to the effect that the left is a culture of death. Look at how they worship all the different forms of death:
Abortion – death to the weakest and most innocent is the rabid cry of the left
Trans and LGBX – death to the family
God – do we need to say how the left hates God?
Drugs – give them out left, right, and centre to our youth. Drugs are walking death
MAiD – If you don’t have enough money to live with, er, ‘dignity’
    WAR – everywhere

Culture of death – call them on it.

    1. Absolutely. They can’t just go about with firing squads anymore so they pressure the young ones to terminate their family trees.

Family is primal in the natural hierarchy below God.

Humans are God’s favorite part of creation.

All of Satan’s swarm here on earth is devoted to attacking the family and life.

  8. All fun aside, I have a long-time friend who is coping with stage 4 cancer and who has opted for MAID. Friend still coping, though I get called in when the pain is bad and a companion is needed (I bring the most recent quilt project and we just sit there quietly). Do not agree with it, but understand friend’s need to go out quietly at own home rather than languish in hospital for some days until the increasing pain meds end the struggle.

    1. You are doing a wonderful thing for your friend. Kudos. You will be able to look back with satisfaction and pride one day knowing you were there for them when they needed you the most.

I have now known two elderly acquaintances who have opted for MAID in the face of excruciating pain from life ending illnesses (cancer, both).

I guess I differ from most commentators here in that I think it is a perfectly reasonable option for consenting (rational) adults in the face of an inevitable, horrible death. I want ultimate control over my own life, from birth to death.

I guess that is the Libertarian in me.

But I understand the slippery slope argument. I am just saying lets find a way to take decision making away from government without removing the choice for people who are horribly, terminally ill.
