International Fact Checking Network Director Angie Holan runs the body which certifies Facebook fact checkers and has the power to investigate allegations of bias and strip fact checkers of certification in the event rules are broken.
Meta publicly told Australians Ms Holan’s organisation would launch a “thorough investigation” into RMIT fact checkers but secret emails obtained by Sky News show that did not happen.
Zuckerberg has promised that his platforms are policed by “independent, IFCN-certified fact-checkers” but an analysis of dozens of internal emails obtained by Sky News show the system has been compromised.
RMIT FactLab was suspended from fact checking on Facebook after a Sky News Australia investigation in August found the operation was filled with partisan activists who used their powers to censor journalism on Facebook they disagreed with, particularly in relation to the Voice referendum.
The investigation, dubbed The Fact Check Files, revealed the university had breached the IFCN’s rules of impartiality several times, including when its fact checking director Russell Skelton was campaigning for a change to Australia’s constitution during a contentious referendum debate.

Fact-check – this is false information. Having had innumerable run-ins with Facepalm’s “fact-check”, I have rigorous mathematical proof that it’s never been anything BUT raving left-wing propaganda – therefore it was NOT “infiltrated” by maniacal left-wing activists, it’s been their home-sanctuary and strongpoint ever since Zuckerfvcker first decreed its existence.
I remember one occasion it bothered to reveal the source behind it’s declaring my post “misinformation”… or “may mislead…” or _________ (fill in the blank) – really there were so many of them, I couldn’t possibly recall what I was fulminating-on at the moment – and its reference was some obscure little newsfeed I’d never heard of; after that it never bothered to quote a source, I imagine half the global-warming ones were Michael Mann, the Hadley CRU or Skeptical Science. I lost count of how many there were, just as I’ve lost count of how many times I quit Facepalm in disgust, vowing never to post there again. You’d think I’d learn…

The formal response to John Stossel by Facebook in the courts was along the lines of “a fact check is a matter of opinion, so the truth defence does not apply. It does not matter that our fact checks may have been wrong and caused you material losses because they are protected speech”.
So, wait … Does this mean I’m not paranoid again?

Facebook also allows obvious scams like the Gibson guitar or Yamaha piano give away and when you report the ad(s) you are told it doesn’t violate community standards. Unlike criticizing the vaxx or something like that which will get you factchecked if not suspended.

I enjoyed the howls of protest and dismay at the hammering the Voice idea got, but I regard this only as a won battle, not a total victory. “Each Way Albo” has the place in history he deserves, not wants, but he and his minions will do all they can to stay in power and achieve their commie aims by however they can. We cannot always rely on their total incompetence. And unfortunately, having “Dutters” in charge makes the coalition unelectable.
Never been on social media myself, other than LinkedIn; and I keep that on excessively tight control.
