Telegraph- French farmer vows to ‘starve Paris’
A tractor blockade established at eight points around Paris is intended to “starve Parisians”, a French farmer has claimed.
Benoit Durand, a grain farmer, told French broadcaster BFM TV: “We are holding a siege in Chartres, one hour away from Paris. It’s part of the blockade… the goal is to put pressure on the government.”

Just thinking about the truckers – It’s really too bad that they didn’t quit delivering anything and everything into and around Ottawa a couple of years back.
You’ve pointed out the great weakness, CRB. For every truck on Wellington street there was a thousand others that weren’t. And it was the same with the Ontario Landowners tractor convoys 15 – 20 years ago. Imagine the immediate impact if EVERYONE had joined the respective movements.
Near Beauvais, north of Paris, dozens of tractors lined the highway in one of many such protests across the country, displaying banners that read: “Our end will be your hunger” – a play on the similar-sounding French words fin (end) and faim (hunger).
Not just blocking roads will cause hunger … but what happens when the farmers refuse to plant in the spring or tend their livestock … because they’re blocking the roads instead.
I have said time and again … all of the fossil fuel industry should shut down for a month. Let the simpleton “greens” really GET what they’re accelerating us into … a life (read: death) without fossil fuels. We can survive with no fossil fuels … we cannot survive with no food.

I can recall a few years ago when there were yellow vest protests in Paris and the cops laid into everyone and anyone. It was brutal, just like the end of the Ottawa Convoy.
You can bet TPTB aren’t going to let this display of defiance go unchallenged. The EU’s probably investigating how they can debank all the farmers.
Macron better start looking into a place in Elba. And if the EU is figuring out how to debank farmers, the farmers will figure out how to starve Paris.
As I recall, the gilets jaunes were protesting because the government wasn’t socialisming hard enough. That’s a “pray for an asteroid” moment.
If the prevailing theory is correct, what the government wants to do is drive off the smaller family and incorporated farmers and sell their land to large agri-businesses. In which case the farmers striking is really just playing into the government’s hands.
This is the third or fourth nation to have a Farmer’s Protest, isn’t it?

I have been known to give the French a hard time but nobody does revolution quite like them.. They want it to escalate so they can start chopping off heads again.. and the government knows it..
Revolutions always eat their own. The French Revolution became le Terreur and only ended when Napoleon overthrew the government and declared himself dictator.
The American Revolution was a black swan event (and I’m increasingly coming to believe that it succeeded mostly because the colonials there had no long-term ties to the land and had plenty of room to get the hell away from each other afterwards). Revolutions generally end in massive bloodshed and warlordism.
Food and energy are in control. And that is why it’s time to stop obeying stupid governments.

Years ago I lived in a small farming town. One of my neighbors had an affair with a farmer’s wife. One morning we all woke up to a freshly plowed front lawn. He had no flowers, no grass, even his prized hedge was gone. Kind of sunk in that you don’t piss off people with heavy equipment – let alone guns.
Perhaps he should have been ploughing his wife’s bush instead of plowing her lovers bushes?

French soldiers are supposed to be damned good. It’s the officers and politicians that are the problem.
My fear is if their French society does fall apart, and the organized and very violent Islamic faction will take control.
