Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Every year the imperialist racists have their March for Israel in the biggest cities throughout the world.
Someone bumped their head.
Twice
I’d like to bump its head.
With 2 taps.
HAHAHA
The more Palestine looks like Grozny or Dresden, the better.
So tell me buddy, are you waiting for Flat Fatima and the Green Helmet Guy to start the sordid lies they are famous for? Are you ready to start sniveling and belly aching about disproportionate aggressive acts by the Israeli.
This was my thought when I was reminded Egypt and Gaza have a common border as does Syria and Gaza.
Why are Palestinians dependent on Israel for water, food and electricity when they could source that through other Muslim countries in the Middle East directly?
“Why are Palestinians dependent on Israel for water, food and electricity when they could source that through other Muslim countries in the Middle East directly?”
All the other nations in the Middle East know better than to try and help the ‘Palestinians’. They tried to take over in Jordan, were kicked out, went to Lebanon and tried to seize power there as well. Jordan and Lebanon were forced to kill *thousands* of them, but no one ever wants to talk about that. The wealthy Arab nations could easily absorb the entire ‘Palestinian’ population, but they want nothing to do with them…they are only useful as political pawns to the rest of the Muslim world.
Exactly – the Palestinians have been treated poorly, but it is their own leadership that have done so, taking billions in humanitarian aid and not using it to provide food, water, medical care, housing etc but to buy arms and missiles to attack Israel. They have been treated poorly by their Arab brothers for the reasons you mentioned and they have been treated poorly by aid agencies such as the UN who use them as pawns in their war against Israel’s right to exist.
At great cost to internal relations in Israel, they gave up Gaza and removed all of their settlements – leaving behind housing, and operating businesses – in exchange for ‘peace’. The Palestinians could have taken those over and turned Gaza into a productive community. Instead their leadership razed the businesses and housing because they didn’t want to use anything that the Jews used or created. Then they turned all of Gaza into a launch pad for missiles and terror attacks on Israel. The world turned a blind eye to what Israel faced on a daily basis. At this point, the world needs to STFU and support Israel to eradicate terrorists.
I hate to see innocent women, children and the elderly harmed anytime, but at some point, the hammer must fall to save yourself. And Israel is bringing down the hammer to save themselves. We could learn some lessons.
I’m old enough to remember the Nobel Committee giving Yasser Arafat a share in the Nobel Peace Prize while he sat on a $1.3 Billion personal fortune largely acquired by siphoning off of foreign aid.
The irony on that is thicker than Amy Schumer’s thighs.
Yeah, well…the Nobel Prizes are a farce and have been for a long time.
” I hate to see innocent women, children and the elderly harmed anytime, but at some point, the hammer must fall to save yourself. And Israel is bringing down the hammer to save themselves. We could learn some lessons.”
Well said, MJM. If it’s either them or us now, I choose us.
Fred and MJM, quite right. It’s obvious that Jordan made no demand for the return of the West Bank after 1967 and the Six Day War. The last thing they wanted was for their country to be overrun by thousands more of Palestinians. They emphasized this by the extermination of Palestinian terrorists by the Jordanian army after the 1970 mass highjacking of aircraft by terrorists.
One slight change: they are only useful as political pawns in the three-way struggle of Riyadh, Ankara and Teheran for supremacy in the Islamic world. Right now, they are being used as expendable mercenaries and a distraction by Teheran in the interests of Moscow and Putin.

Good point, cgh. I’m not 100% sold on the Moscow/Tehran angle, (Putin might just have seized an unexpected opportunity) but will concede it to be at least a possibility; it has certainly distracted from what is currently happening in Ukraine.
syria is a t’other end . no border with gaza. something to avoid .
Yes, sorry that was sloppy. My (poorly made) point was you have the Golan Heights bordering Syria and Lebanon, the West Bank bordering Jordan and the Gaza Strip bordering Egypt, yet there seems to be no help from any of the Arab countries. I know it’s complicated but it’s not a geography problem and it’s not a money problem. Israel is surrounded by Arab (Muslim) countries and yet it is responsible for the State of Palestine.
Israel has every right to defend herself.
All this has been fortold in the bible.
Remember, the Jews are Gods chosen people.
The bible says : I’ll bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you.
It’s all written in the bible.
I would suggest reading it.
No, the Jews are not God’s chosen people. The chosen people are the descendants of Israel (Jacob), of which one tribe is named “Judah”.
“Jews” are not related to the descendants of Judah, nor of any of the other 11 tribes. And the various groups that all call themselves “Jews” aren’t related to each other. And even if the “Jews” were somehow the remnants of what was left of the tribe of Judah, then one has to wonder where the descendants of the other 11 tribes are.
When you dig into the Bible, it’s shocking to realize how much of what we’re told isn’t true. Most of the place names in the English Bible aren’t in the original texts, including the nations of Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, or the Euphrates and Nile rivers. And the locations of various landmarks like Mount Sinai and the mountains of Ararat were only recently named that.
It almost looks like someone has gone through great pains to try to write-in Israel and the events of the Bible having taken place in one of the most hostile deserts on earth.
And if one only looks at what is now called the “Old Testament”, there is also no mention of Greece or Rome.
How odd…
I agree with your first sentence, for entirely different reasons. (See my post below.) But you truly don’t know much about biblical history — or biblical Hebrew — do you. I suggest you do some real study before you write more ill-informed stuff like you just wrote.
I am probably among the most knowledgeable people you know regarding the Bible. Try me.
Nothing I said is due to ignorance – I could write at great detail re: any of the statements I made. Where do you disagree?
And no, I’m not an anti-semite. Nor am I pro-Palestine. Nor am I a “leftist”. Nor do I have anything against those who call themselves “Jews” per se. And I fully agree that the nation that was recently formed and was also named “Israel” has the right to defend itself by any and all means necessary.
Just to be clear to those who now want to attack me b/c I don’t agree with what they have come to believe.
The Jews (biblical Israelites) WERE God’s chosen people. They rejected him and sank into idolatry, for centuries, in fact, and God finally exiled and destroyed them, except for a believing remnant from whom the Messiah he promised would come. Most of them were still rejecting God when their Messiah was on earth and they rejected him too. And killed him.God had promised long before, and it then came to pass, that not just Jews but all who accepted his sslvation would be saved. And they would be his people. Jesus himself, and St. Paul, and Peter ad well, make clear that “not all who call Abraham their father, i.e., ethnic Jews, are Abraham’s children.” That requires belief in the Messiah as Savior and Lord. In Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek, slave or free, male or female. So no, the modetn Israeli state, per se, is/are not God’s chosen people, though individuals among them surely are. That said, any decent person will wholly support Israel against the despicably evil pagan Hamas barbarians and their allies.
The people who call themselves Jews were never God’s chosen people. They are unrelated to the descendants of Jacob, aka Israel.
They are a conglomeration of completely unrelated people using the same name who pretend to be the descendants of Judah. They do not follow the law from the Old Testament as predominantly Christians are encouraged to believe. Rather, they follow the evil anti-Biblical book that teaches the reverse – the Talmud. The Talmud is a collection of supposedly oral traditions that come to the opposite conclusions of what is plainly stated in the Old Testament.
They invert the teachings of the Law and the Prophets. They read in what isn’t written in the Old Testament, and they ignore the parts they don’t like.
It is possible that at least some of these people might be related to those who claimed that they were there to help Ezra rebuild the wall of Jerusalem after the children of Judah (not Jews) were released from the captivity by the kingdom of Paris (purposely mistranslated as Persia, or mis-spelled as Peres) and allowed to return home. There were those who had moved into the land left mostly vacant when the people were taken captive. These foreigners acted as though they were the same as the children of Judah, but were not.
Jews are never mentioned in the Old Testament, and Christians for the most part don’t seem to notice the sleight of hand with descendants of 12 tribes suddenly being referenced as ”Jews”. The New Testament is completely unrelated to what is now referred to as the Old Testament. There is absolutely nothing in the Old Testament that points to the New Testament. They are completely different books, written in different languages about different people. And each worships a different god. The God of the OT is named Yehweh (not Yahweh, and certainly not “LORD” as it is consistently purposely mistranslated). The NT introduces a couple of new characters, Jesus, and “the Holy Spirit” – neither of which are mentioned in the OT.
There are many purposeful mistranslations in the OT to make it like the New Testament is somehow fulfilling cryptic foreshadowings in the OT, but these are blatant. In the case of Abraham sacrificing Isaac, that entire portion is written in and does not occur in the original text.
I could go on for hours.
Forget it jake, It’s Coyne.
Notice he identifies with the Ukraine and Israel flag but the Red Maple Leaf not to be found.
The save save Palestine crowd have been at it for decades, and frankly they stank of anti-Semitism twenty years ago now they just reek of Pro-Hamas propaganda. Give slime stream media a week and they’ll be weeping about the loss of lives in Palestine cause the only one allowed to butcher people are the save save Palestine crowd.
It’s also written:
The fool says in his heart there is no God.
In 1948 when Israel came to exist the arab nations of the middle east expelled their Jewish populations. Israel took the expelled in.
No Arab nation took in one Palestinian from what is now Israel. These ‘ Palestinians’ all go back to Egypt, Jordan etc but their own country’s will not repatriate them.
LOL. Atta girl Rupa!!!! Coyne is the very embodiment of what’s wrong with Canadian media.
Like pro wrestling, Coyne will have his 2 minutes of hate fest on Twitter until someone in the tonier sections of Montreal tell him to pipe down and get back on the new script.
Canada’s MSM ‘keen eyed observers of the human condition’ are largely missing their own extinction and the reasons for it.
Ironic how journalists are oblivious to the reasons for their own demise and the main reason is that they are so shitty at their jobs.
Lots of attacks on Twitter about how Twitter is some sort of hellhole of misinformation.
The reality is that it’s a hellhole of truths that they don’t want seen.
I can’t not want to spit whenever I see Coyne.
A pox on him.
Burton is 100% correct.
The funny thing is, before World War One, it was all the Ottoman Empire.
In 1922 Egypt was created.
In 1946 Jordan was created out of 78% of what was originally mandated by the League of Nations, and handed over to Britain, what was called the Mandate of Palestine, which was by law to become the Jewish “national home” or country. This was to appease the Arab population who wanted no Jews, even those Jewish families who had lived there for generations.
In 1948 when Egypt and Jordan invaded the newly created country of Israel, and Egypt illegally seized Gaza, and Jordan illegally seized Samaria and Judea (the West Bank) in their attempts to seize all of the territory for themselves, the people of those seized area called themselves, Egyptians and Jordanians. Jordan destroyed almost every synagogue in the seized territory, and imported their people into the area, in violation of international law over the issue of what an aggressor who has seized territory can or cannot do with that territory.
In 1964 as part of a Soviet propaganda campaign Egypt and the KGB created the Palestinian Liberation Organization, headed up by Cairo born Yassar Arafat, who had been in the Egyptian army, and starting claiming a false history in that area.
It was only after the 1967 war with Israel seizing both of those “disputed territories” from Egypt and Jordan, that suddenly those people started calling themselves “Palestinians” as part of a Soviet Union, KGB propaganda campaign, to claim those people had a history there.
There has never been a country called Palestine, only an ill-defined area, renamed after the long gone Phillistines by the Romans conquerers as an insult to the Jews.
On November 26, 1981, King Hessein bin Talal of Jordan, (the father of the present king, King Abdulla), stated for the Arab language newspaper A-Hahar al-Arabia: “the truth is Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan”.
This is not about politics, it is about Islam, and its claims that any territory ever seized, even momentarily, by a Muslim, forever remains the territory of the Islamic Umma. Some still make that claim over Spain and other parts of Europe.
“The funny thing is, before World War One, it was all the Ottoman Empire.”
Thanks for the history lesson, Reader. Very concise and factual.
No much brotherly love between Jordan and the PLO back in September, 1970. They couldn’t kill each other fast enough.
