  1. Michel Bissonnette is a Big Shit, an executive vice-president for the CBC, in charge of all French CBC operations:

(in French, but use Google translation)

As the kiss-ass article says, Mr. Bissonnette was an inside boy for Premier Bourassa and Premier Charest, both of the Liberal Party of Quebec. I checked the Election Canada contribution records, and a Michel Bissonnette, living in Westmont, Montreal, has contributed thousands of dollars to the federal Liberals between 2005 and 2014.

Will check to see if our Laurentian Bissonnette lives in Westmont.

    1. You remind one of the most typical of all Canadian politicians, one with all the answers AFTER they are out of office.

Seems to me that you were just as an obedient narrative following puppy as any other CBC “expert” they interviewed.

      You wouldn’t be on otherwise.

Only saw you once or twice, so feel free to correct me.

      1. We can agree to disagree on this. My own view is that Mr. Bissonette’s cozy ties to the provincial and federal parties is important, given that the state-owned Radio Canada is supposed to be ideologically “neutral”. It’s also important that Bissonette’s cozy Liberal ties takes place as as he is wasting taxpayers’ money to treat himself. If we disagree on these points, that’s fine.

        1. To be honest, I’d be more surprised if he wasn’t connected to the Libranos somehow.

Canadian tax dollars attract Liberal friends like athletes attract groupies.

I once attended a spring MLB game in St.Petes. Afterwards, I took my nephews to see if they could meet some of the players. No luck as a 12 ft high chainlink fence held back fans as the players went from clubhouse to bus.

What was interesting was that there were dozens of gorgeous women literally climbing said fence in their mid-afternoon attire of long dresses, high heels and all done up like they were getting married if they could only meet these millionaire ball players.

Pretty much how Liberals think about your tax dollars.

    1. I agree, but we need to be clear on terms. There is a difference between abolishing the CBC and simply defunding it.
I know the other side does not play by these rules, but here goes:
I have no problem with voices opposing my own being heard. I do object to being forced to pay for them, and to their claim that they somehow represent true journalism or Canadian values.
Simply defunding the CBC will cause it to shrivel greatly. If it had to go to advertiser revenue, it would die of its own accord. If it went to a PBS style viewer funded platform, it may still exist, but only preach to a small bubble of adherents.
So no, do not abolish. Simply defund, and let Canadians decide what they want to support with their own hard-earned shekels.
Despite claims from elitists about what constitutes “Canadian Culture” (meaning their pet hobby horses), true Canadian Culture is what real Canadians will watch, listen to, and support with their own $$ when given a choice.
And for the vast majority, it ain’t CBC. I had one journalist tell me that in every major market in Canada, CBC is dead last.
So let them exist, try to pay their own way, and let their increasing irrelevance become obvious to all who choose to look.
Besides, a slow death will be much more entertaining to watch. Let my Dipper friends pour their savings into the life support efforts – less money for them to spend on driving to Stop Oil protests.

      1. I agree. And, hey, there is a collection of people out there who call themselves the “friends of the cbc.”
Let those fools pay for the dreck.

      2. “do not abolish. Simply defund, and let Canadians decide what they want to support with their own hard-earned shekels.”

What’s the value of the real estate, vehicles and equipment the CBC owns right now?
It will be looted by the CBC mandarins as soon as it is defunded.

        Respectfully, f#*@ that.

Chain the doors and throw their office plants and their pictures of their cats at the cottage into the street.

        1. Precisely. By merely defunding the bastards you give the next Lieberal gov’t the opportunity to resuscitate them. Burn it all down & salt the earth.

      3. I disagree. What can be defunded can be funded again.

No chances, no quarter. THIS is the litmus test – kill it dead, the very first thing PP does in power.

    2. My only major criticism of Stephen Harper was his failure to do just that with his majority. What was going to happen if he did ? They’d call him worse than Hitler?

  2. Yes, the Big Liberal Shit sold his Wesmount home for $5-million in 2016, after his contributions to the federal Liberals stopped:
    https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2018/07/07/la-campagne-au-cur-de-la-ville

(in French, so use Google translate)

Note that is CBC executive job started when the Liberals took over in 2015. That he got the CBC Big Shit job just after contributing thousands of dollars to the federal Liberals is entirely coincidental. Utterly coincidental.

(This post is supposed to be a reply to my Michel Bissonette post above).

  3. There is a story told of Diogenes, observed eating a simple bowl of lentils by Aristippus, was told “If only you learned to flatter the King you wouldn’t have to eat lentils.” To which Diogenes replied “If only you learned to eat lentils you wouldn’t have to flatter the King.”

I have no idea why this story just popped into my head.

  4. The CEO lives in New York for some reason… and yet the “champions of CanCon” don’t seem to have a problem with it

    1. Liberals always get a pass because conservatives are dumb, docile, cucked cowards that have massively betrayed their ancestors and their descendants.

The good news is that reality is finally arriving. Or at least its consequences.

Oblivious will soon not be the Canadian condition.Replaced by pain.

Well deserved pain. Lots and lots.

Shite is about to get real.

  5. A political appointee to a state-funded state organ engaged as the propaganda arm of the progressive in-crowd in the most saturated market in history. That anyone here needs to consider for a millisecond the utility of keeping such an institution alive is deeply concerning. Let the progressives recreate such an evil institution on their own at their expense? The progressives wouldn’t waste a nickel of their own money as they already have numerous private sector clones doing a better job spewing progressive narratives while capturing the mindless at the margin. The current CBC viewers are stagnant numbers of automatonlike NDP drones who are genetically disposed, beyond enlightenment, and would support the left even if it costs them their lives.

  6. Everyone connected to the Liberal Party of Canada is entitled to their entitlements. Everyone else gets to pay for those entitlements. This is how Canada works. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

  7. The Commie News Corp is not going anywhere anytime soon . There are too many shit for brain supporters to ensure that . PP is probably dying to say that he would defund Pravda but is smart enough to keep his mouth shut . If I’m wrong please post his comments and I will shut up .

    1. Like Trudeau’s
      carbon tax
      ICE car ban
      west coast oil tanker ban
over-regulation of industies not in eastern canada
      open immigration
Never tell em the real plans
