The Mcleod Lake IB may have had to log the land quickly due to insect infestations, mountain pine beetle or spruce bark beetle,depending on the species on their land.
All white -owned logging companies have a legal obligation to reforest clearcut land, so I hope the same regulations apply to the FN’s.
No regulations apply to the Last Tribes, or haven’t you figured that out yet?
This happened some years ago west of Calgary by Morley.
The natives were cutting trees left and right, you could see it from the TC hwy.
The trucks were in such a hurry, it was something to behold.
Eventually the federales shut it down.
Wanna know what happened next?
The natives sued the government for allowing them to cut the trees.
This country is a bizarre place.
Since the BC NDP government has racialized access to crown timber, some Indian owned or partnered operators have been involved in harvesting activities no “white” operators would have been allowed to engage. Unless or until apartheid is eliminated and relations are normalized (equality before the law), we are on a road that ends in violence and racial discord. The SCOC is responsible for most of this but the white guilt of the progressive Stockholm Syndrome elites, the grievance industry, and their political operatives are all culpable. The problem is the lack of interest in extinguishing “land claims” rather than perpetuating them. The Indians don’t own crown land. If they did, there would be no Canada and the 95% of non-Indians could eliminate the others that thought so as there would be no legitimate “Canada” nor associated laws. Deed over to each Indian based on DNA (1/16 Indians get 1/16, same with Metis) of the land in fee simple private ownership roughly 50 ha plus or minus depending on land value per full Indian. After that, eliminate all laws that include the word “Indian”. Whatever else Indians want to do culturally (support their own chiefs, etc) is up to them within provincial local governance legislation. “Consultation” is just a shakedown.
Australia has a referendum later this year (The Voice) in which separate privileges could be granted to an Aboriginal advisory body in the Constitution. Its a giant shakedown pushed by the elites and grievance industries.
In an own goal for the Yes vote ,the WA government has brought in legislation that shows the how the Voice might work – expensive and divisive.
Historically voting in Australia has been legit but I sense that desperation from the Yes camp could change this.
I sent a group e-mail to friends about this earlier, citing that this W.A. legislation, and what’s transpired as a result, is effectively a precursor to what’ll happen if the Voice gets in. It’s not just the massive grift for money and power by people who don’t deserve it, it is all those other Voices out there who’ll then demand to be equally heard…
But labor/greens are typically stupid and unthinking and blinded by or willful to leftism; hence this burgeoning mess.

We have thrown money at them, as per treaty obligations, but it’s always “more please” Well I don’t think they actually say please and there are those pesky treaties after all but let’s try to get a new grip on the situation as it stands today.

Does anyone remember back in the 90’s when, if memory serves, the Stoney Nation of Alberta decided to log their traditional lands? I only remember because some of my BC logging friends headed east for some work since the NDP were starting to ransack BC, by which I mean destroy the forest industry and find legal means to add to indigenous rights, which they were able to do with little effort. The rest of Canada should be nervous because, even though most of Canada is covered by treaties in which natives gave up aboriginal title, the BC government challenged Treaty 8 just recently which covers vast swathes of northern AB, BC and NWT and using their usual defence, which is our predecessors made a mistake and we should lose the case, the natives in fact won and so have regained Aboriginal Title in the BC portion of Treaty 8 which has so far cost hundreds of millions. Don’t worry it will cost much more and the lawyers are eyeing everywhere else.
But back to the Stoney in Alberta. Logging commenced and at one point 100’s of loaded trucks were passing the Banff park gates headed for mills in BC. Albertans began to notice and complain, but because it was an indigenous matter no one wanted to do anything. Eventually, and I might be wrong since this is on memory, the federal government stepped in under the Indian Act which bothered the Stoney a great deal since they were banking big money. The contractors I spoke to said the logging gig was awesome since it was a free for all with virtually no rules except to log as fast and as much as possible. Now that’s Aboriginal Title!
As if it wasn’t hard enough to run things with the government, insurance and mafia all strong arming you for their cut off the top, now the we were here first crowd wants their cut too.
What a time to be alive. If you like watching buildings getting demo’d, you’re gonna love watching what our politicians and their masters do to the greatest civilization (western civilization to be clear) in the history of humanity. Once great cities, brimming with industry and happy families reduced to rubble and shite stained streets populated by drug addled criminals. Nations unable to defend their borders or the culture that made them great are being reduced to blubbering welfare cases. And “leaders” like this are paralyzed by fear of a bad headline.
Just crazy to be watching it all happen in slow motion and only a few really seem to notice or care.
