  1. If I was the guy I wouldn’t say a word to police. Nothing good ever happens talking to police who want to talk to him. By their nature they will talk him into confessing to a crime.

    1. If you see the whole video? You see the armed patron shoot the guy multiple times, including walking up to him while the robber is on the ground and shooting him several more times. Do not do that!

Those extra shots turned a great case of self defense and defense of others into murder or manslaughter.

      1. That tactic of finishing off your foe seemed to work for Frank Castle, aka ‘ The Punisher ‘.
They won’t have a chance to later put out a vendetta on you or your family in the future should they live.

        1. No, but the dead body’s family might.
Unless, perhaps, they realize that this guy is best left alone.

  2. The police just want to give him “High Fives”, how stupid are you people. Don’t talk to the police, they aren’t your friend.

  3. Uhhh… yeah. I watched the video. The police want to talk to him because they’re going to arrest him.

The initial shoot was good. No, the weapon doesn’t need to be pointed at you to justify self defense. The problem is that he keeps shooting after the guy is on the ground, completely still. Then he walks up to the guy, still shooting the body, takes the gun away, and shoots the body again.

I’m all for self defense, but this is WAY over the top, and they definitely want to nail him for it. The only reason they aren’t saying it is because they’re hoping he’ll come to them and save them the trouble of tracking him down.

Now, I’m not going to condemn him – the thug got what he deserved – but I don’t imagine the law is on his side here.

    1. You’re seeing something very different in that video than I did. Your description just isn’t accurate. Over the top, anyone?

      1. If you saw the KHOU Video, you did not see what happened. They cut it before the first shot of NINE (9) shots.

Watch the Pososbiec video from Joe above. He stood over the guy and shot him 4-5 more times.

The legal situation of the man that shot him all those extra times? He Is F***ED!

    2. While I think you’re right about the police, it’s not like the shooter engaged, confirmed the perp was disabled, and then kept shooting deliberately. He pretty much just unloads the clip into the guy within 2-3 seconds which is common for untrained shooters in a live fire situation. What it looks like to me is that the later shots come when the perp is on the ground and the shooter is trying to retrieve the gun. A charitable interpretation would be that the perp was moving towards the gun while the shooter was trying to retrieve it and so the shooter reacted by firing again.

    3. What he said, except it’s a magazine. No sympathy for the bad guy and I’d give an atta boy to the shooter. But in a courtroom setting, that probably stopped being a righteous shoot after the second pull. Maybe the third.

    4. Ever shot and killed a human?

I suppose you’d be all legal, nice, polite, , maybe wing the pistol out of the guys hand,..but only by nicking a little pinky.

You should of been there. A saint.

I don’t know about you, but if I shoot a armed bad guy…..I shoot to kill. Sorry if I disappoint.

  4. Never before in my 67 years would I have agreed with the skepticism and fear of the police as expressed above. After the past 3 years … I agree with every word. The police are no longer a friend of the law abiding. Because “equity” or something.

Oh! And an armed society is a polite society

  5. I agree with everything said already. If the police didn’t want to charge the guy then they would have no reason to try finding him.

  6. The really big questions here is, did he shoot him with silver bullets, and was the getaway ride a silver horse? Hi-Yo Silver away!

  7. Filling a scumbag full of lead is admirable.
Double taps are only half as good as double double taps and considered stellar by many.
You can only shoot a scumbag too much when there are other scumbags that need shooting as well.
    Is that clear, ladies?

  8. In Canada we live in a society where we are told our wallets our property our dogs even are not worth our life and to let the bad guys have it.

I want to live where the bad guys are left to ponder is a couple wallets worth my life?

Agree above though. The good guy here is in a real world of grief. Hope public pressure starts to shift narrative but me thinks this will be a racial issue…..

    1. This. There needs to be a price that doesn’t include an education on how to do it better next time.

  9. 9 shots. 4 before the perp went down are good. 4 more are debatable whether the perp was still a threat. Then our guy picked up the perp’s gun, and then shot number nine, likely committing murder in the eyes of the law. He needs a lawyer. The world is a better place with the crook no longer in it, but the law won’t be kind.

    1. This!

You shoot to stop the threat. Any shots after that are looked at as murder or manslaughter.

Do not believe me. Go to an expert like Andrew Branca at Law of self Defense or Massad Ayoob at Lethal Force Institute, or if you are in Canada, try Runkle of the Bailey.

      1. … but the police can routinely fire 60 shots at various perps. Got it. Overkill for civilians … de rigor for cops.

        1. Kenji,

Look up Laquan McDonald and Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke. He did three plus years for shooting a scumbag criminal armed with a knife 16 times.

Compare and contrast with the sentences the poor sorry bastards in Minneapolis that held down George Floyd while he OD’d from the drugs he swallowed as the cops arrested him.

        2. Look up the Sammy Yatim shooting in Toronto 2013. The cop shot the kid 9 times. Slow-fire, just like he was at the range. Bang-2-3-4-Bang-2-3-4-Bang etc. Nine rounds. Then the other cops on-scene tased the already dead body.

The cop went to jail. One of the only cases I know of where the cop was convicted.

Killing the other guy is not the point of self defense. Once you are reasonably sure he’s not getting up, you need to stop shooting him. You don’t kick his gun away and then shoot him a couple more times because he p1ssed you off.

Sorry, that’s just the way it is.

That said, a normal human in one of these furballs may or may not observe all the legal niceties while he’s fighting for his life. After-action armchair quarterbacking is for scumbags, lawyers and Leftists. But I repeat myself.

  10. People are under the misconception that the police exist to protect the public from criminals. They actually exist to protect the criminals from the public. Without them, people would take matters into their own hands.

Well, the public has been getting bombarded with how DAs are releasing dangerous people right back into the street because things like cash bail and prison are racist.

It is not a surprise that this guy took matters into his own hands and did the job DAs won’t of making sure a violent criminal was punished.

  11. You have only one life. Bullets are cheap. Make sure whatever you’re shooting can’t do you harm. In 1990, I was up in Arviat and a polar bear decided it wanted to eat me and charged at me. I shot him the first time right in the middle of the chest with the Canadian Ranger issued, bolt-action, Lee Enfield–saw the splash (the bullet exited his left side–big spray of blood)…but he kept coming. The Canadian Ranger sergeant calmly told me to keep shooting it until it went down. I shot it five more times, by this time the rest of the Ranger Patrol was shooting at it. When it rolled on its back…the rest of the Inuit, one at a time, ran up to it from different points of the compass and put a bullet into its belly/chest holding their rifle one-handed like pistol then running away after taking their shot. I asked the Sgt what they were doing. He told me that polar bears sometimes pretend to play dead and when you get close enough they kill you….I started reloading.

  12. And yet, the perp’s “family” will engage a slimy lawyer, on a contingent fee basis, to sue this guy for something like wrongful death. He will be exonerated, most likely, but will be devastated by the costs of defending himself.

    1. Well, if that was a Ferrari, or even a nice SUV he had parked outside, the lawyers would be lining up to take the case.
Looking at what his net worth probably is, I doubt that you would find one that wouldn’t want to be paid. In advance.

  13. If officer Philip Brailsford can shoot unarmed groveling Daniel Leetin Shaver then this guy gets a medal and free beers for life.

  14. It will be interesting to see if a Texas jury convicts him, and of what.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, the shootings continue.

And the defund the police Democrats will continue their efforts to make it safer for robbers to ply their trade.

  15. If the justifiable shots can be presumed to have killed the perpetrator the worst the additional shot could be, in Canada, is committing an indignity to a human body. You can’t kill a corpse. Mind you, this isn’t Canada. If you are ever on a jury, remember to never find someone innocent on the main charge, guilty of a lesser offence, as the judge is likely to sentence them on the main charge. They don’t tell you this in jury school so remember it.
