  3. No sane person wants to despoil the environment. We all want to breath fresh air, and drink and swim in safe water. No wants their children playing in a toxic waste dump.

    But environmentalists have become so extreme and grossly unscientific — so ideologically bound — that they have polarized many of us so that we end up being cynics, doubting even those initiatives that are worthwhile.

      CO2 has nothing to do with safe water or toxic waste.
      CO2 is fine until we get to over 1000 ppm or so.
      This has nothing to do with “pollution.”

      2. Bullshit! Submarines run up to 5,000 to 7,000 ppm and in tests as much as 15,000 ppm without any ill effects. It’s not a health issue. It’s a bullshit issue.

          2. I maintain RN subs it is true they regularly have levels of CO2 in the 5000ppm/7000ppm mark.I have heard no reports of the crew being roasted alive whilst contained in a pressurized vessel.

      3. HiHo, CO2 could be 5000ppm and it would not injure anyone. Ice core samples from thousands of years ago show it was indeed that high.

    Politicians who are intent on stopping miniscule increase in temperature by cutting food production and fertilizer use are simply war criminals, as are the morons who keep voting for their evil insanity.

    1. Yes, it amuses me when green activists claim that if the temperature goes up by 1C by the end of the century that it will cause mass destruction to humans, flora and fauna. Saskatchewan has always had extreme weather yet our plants and wildlife shrug it off. +33C in the summer, -35C in the winter. Temperatures that can rapidly go up or down by 20C or more in 24 hours. Early spring, late spring, false spring and the same variations in winter. Floods, droughts, 1ft to 4ft of snow. Not a problem. But a 1C increase in global temperatures by 2100 will surely be the end of the hardy species that make the Canadian prairie their home.

      The only thing more ridiculous is the political solutions to “stop” global warming…extreme authoritarianism. Not adaptation, of course, because only micromanaging every aspect of your life will control the weather and tame the climate. The hubris and arrogance of these people is matched only by their megalomania and greed.

        1. If I remember correctly, the incresed warming is mostly at night, in winter and at higher latitudes.

          1. Exactly right. I think it’s an indication that temperature records are corrupted by heat island effect, pavement and such retaining heat long into the evening.

            Average Global Temperature is a pretty useless piece of data, and in no way reflects what is going on in anyone’s lived environment.

  6. Earlier today I was scrolling through a forum for loggers, sawmillers, etc. A fellow from Quebec had posted that with all the recent global warming, in his part of la belle province the lowest winter temps in his area were now -15c instead of -25c.

    It was such an obvious lie that somebody will call bullshit on him right quick.

    1. There is an interesting discussion on WUWT about measurements, +/- ranges, uncertainty, absolute uncertainty, etc.

      An excerpt:

      If you really want to see their heads explode.
      Ask for the error bars on their calculated value of “Daily Average Temperature”.
      Hard to see their 0.5C as less than noise.

      Then google the type of temperature sensor used by “Environment Canada’s Science” since the 1990s..Updated in the late 2010s from memory.
      With help such as these we need no enemies..
      Though it is useful to know that the reason the High Arctic “Average Temperature” is rising could have a lot to do with sensors unable to accurately measure below minus 40 Celsius.

      Of course that could not possibly slant those “official numbers’..
      For these fine institutes operate on the taxpayer behalf using the magnificent ethical standard of “Good enough for Government and Must protect the narrative”.
