Listen to the whole thing.
Tonight, I address all Albertans on the challenges ahead of us including tackling inflation & affordability, reforming healthcare, & ensuring we stand up for Alberta's interests.#cdnpoli #abpoli #ableg pic.twitter.com/3L8HAI7cJl

2.6 Billion so far.
If you’re a member of the Provincial NDP you’re automatically a member of the Federal NDP. These two Parties now support each other. The position of the Liberal Party on fertilizer for farming is quite clear. What is the position of the NDP on fertilizer for farming? Will the Media ask the NDP?
I was hoping for a Reagan-esque statement. “My fellow Albertans, I’m pleased to tell you today that I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Ottawa forever. We shut off eastbound oil in five minutes.”
And, “The Alberta National Guard is being formed as I speak”.
The Albertans would cringe at the idea.
They are a bigger bunch of clowns than the Quebecois, mostly, because, like the Quebecers, they are a citified people, and the rural people will continue to be trampled by the insane urbanites. Alberta just seems a bit more rural, but the people that own it all are still citified aholes, just like the rest of Canada.
Underwhelming
She’ll probably beat Notley with that I’d bet. The laundry list of inflationary chicken in every pot spending is a necessary evil to defeat the dippers I guess. Shed do better if she was more open about shovelling money to Ottawa for it to be distributed to Quebec but I guess most people get it.
Good start.
Preparing the Ground.
Next the Militia Act.
Designed to identify firearms as private property, essential to the strength of the Province.
A free nation cannot afford a massive standing army, but every citizen should be ready and able to defend what we lay claim to.
For while Ottawa does not understand the concept of a nation,Western Canadians do.
There is no law or justice but what we provide ourselves.
Thus the declaration,we the people,with-in these defined borders,do agree to be bound by “these laws”.As gazetted..
Not as in Ottawa by “Those Laws” the ones we just made up.
And Alberta has wealth to address our problems and to make real investments in our future, especially if we stop pissing it away to Ottawa.
Passing our wealth through Ottawa so they can steal at will.
Provincial tax collection, all taxes, let the Province pay Ottawa what they are worth.
I wonder what negative Alberta Bucks look like?
Deleted- abusive language
HoHo
You have mental problems????????

Can’t be a Militia Act – exclusive federal jurisdiction. It would be the Alberta Provincial Police Reserve Act.
I thought she did a good job not looking like a total rural, right wing whack job.
Like it or not, this is what she had to do to win.
Nice to see how tolerant you are of rural folk.
One day, we will respond in kind.
Pretty damn good.
All the qualities that Notley doesn’t have.
Agreed. I hope she has the balls to go to war with Ottawa, the WEF and the rest.
You only live once, and maybe she’ll fight. Can you think of a better epitaph than “I spent my life fighting The Man!”
I’m an Ontarian, but I have high hopes for this woman.
“I’m an Ontarian”
Please try to maintain your anonymity.
Yes, it’s too late for his dignity.
If the government is handing you back your money, it is not doing you a favour. It is making you think that it is helping you, rather like the controlling husband handing the wife a few dollars for being so pretty.
Why not let you keep your money?
Because we live in a democracy.
You need to explicitly buy votes.
Oh, hell, this is Canada. You can do that with Cheetos and beer.
Canadians are cheap to buy.
Let us hope that Daniel Smith’s somewhat conservative viewpoints are not simply designed to win her the next election so she can move to the left, but are actually going to be foundational, after winning the next election, to moving further to the right
agreed. She laid out some things to be accountable for. The election in May will show which way albertans are leaning.
I hope the fake feminist in Ottawa she’t his pants when Danielle mentioned sovereignty.
Well, government handouts don’t seem very conservative to me, and are a source of inflation. Index the taxes and payments is good. Gas tax elimination good.
My initial thought was the same. Buying votes? But that’s in vogue these days of course. However, upon further introspection, I suspect they have surplus. They already took Albertans money and need to figure out how to give it back (re: Ralph bucks?) and the retro 2022 index for tax is another way to address that also. Seem plausible? Agreed on price at the pump but will regular AB folks (read: legacy media give credit where due) make the connection to gov policy or miss that entirely.
Pretty good, better than Kenney. We dodged a bullet by not having Bumblecluck Jean as Premier
In todays world you have to appease the low information voter. She is basically saying you were taxed to much in the past, we have balanced books, so we will give you some of the rainy day savings back in this time of storms. If she was campaigning on just balanced books and lower taxes, most voters wouldn’t vote for her. Give them a bit of money back and tell them it’s to get them through the tough times caused by Ottawa, to me, is a brilliant move. Although I don’t totally agree with it you have to do a certain amount of vote buying or you will never get elected, sad as that is.
I can agree with most of what Danielle Smith has said, but I disagree with her where she states that AB will be a stronger province within Canada.
Although it may become a good bargaining chip, (to be able to say, “we tried” and Old Canada refused to negotiate)
I doubt Old Canada will accept a strong AB, they’ll do what they can to destroy our destiny, and the best then is to
have a referendum on separation from Old Canada.
That’s the goal.
Did anyone note the #Librano Gov’t of Canada change of the rules regarding gun ownership in Canada? While everyone is focused on the rest of the country falling apart…
“On behalf of this coalition, the Liberals added a disastrous amendment to Bill C-21 effectively prohibiting several million additional, individual rifles and shotguns. These new prohibitions will include the SKS, Tavor, X-95, all AR180 and variants, Canuck bullpup shotguns, Crusader Arms, Kel-Tec Sub2000, SU16, RDB, RFB, JR Carbine, Kriss Vector, Ruger PC Carbine, Norinco T97 NSR, Benelli M4 and countless more.
This amendment has been put forward by the Liberals and they have the votes to add it to Bill C-21. If Bill C-21 passes, and again they do have the votes, these firearms as well as all formerly prohibited firearms will be enshrined in legislation.”
It includes all centre fire semi automatic rifles…

Alberta “police reserve” force indeed…
Her Fireside Chat was pretty good and she pushed the right buttons … At This Time… IMO.
I thought her heartfelt humility on the final leg of her talk was not necessary, and perhaps premature at this time.
Danielle can be impressionable at times and is going to have to watch herself …her opponents, ottawa and the WEF crowd will certainly be looking for the chinks in her armour.
Is this not the same person who destroyed the Wild Rose Party? While she is downing the libdip Aholes she is wrapping herself in the libdip rag of eastern Canada.
Yes, she is. Which is why I am unlikely to ever trust her again. I will need to see it in order to believe it. I’ve noted before, cautiously optimistic.
In the post above, ac noted her “heartfelt humility”. I don’t know her well enough to judge if that is actually heartfelt or political CYA. The fact that she admits she makes mistakes is rare for a politician. I hope that bodes well.
Now, as for wrapping herself in that flag…
Again, I’ve noted this before. DS has a provincial election to win on May 29 next year. If she comes off as too “radical” prior to that election, she will lose to the commies. I’m hoping she is merely holding her cards close to her chest until such time that she can safely deliver. If UPC wins that election, she’ll have adequate time to implement some of these policies and measure the results. If they’re positive, that will bode well for the election after that.
I don’t think (hoping?) that flag is as precious as it’s made out to be.
