  1. I had only heard the title of this film. I did not know it was about classical music. Now I plan on looking into it.

Believe it or not, classical music has been infected with Marxist cancer as well, it’s no exaggeration.

I blame the Internet. It’s the tool of Satan, there is little doubt. I take consolation knowing that once a massive worldwide EMP hits, classical music will THRIVE, unlike the absolute crap that you find out there now.

  2. I once performed for my teenage peers at a citywide literary evening. I was playing a Chopin etude, and as I started, it was the usual catcalls, and dismissive jeering (2000 people strong). By the time, I was done, the room was quiet. It was a startling experience for a teenager – to silence a rowdy crew with music. And at that moment, I can attest to what was said by Blanchett in the clip – you must cease to exist and only the music can be important. You have to become a silent, barely noticed vehicle of expression. Such a moment left a very vivid, startling memory.

    1. Very interesting interview with her at that trailer link. I must say she is the first actress (or “actor” as designated today), male or female, that I’ve ever seen who looks truly convincing as a conductor.

    1. My impression of her is that she’s a globalist; one who mouths off about climate change but who bought an expensive seaside property…

She is, after all, an actress. I doubt Meryl Streep is anything like Margaret Thatcher…

  3. Cate Blanchett is a very good actor but credit where credit is due – to the writer.

  4. The left and the upper class that supports it must learn to tolerate their own medicine.. Their walled garden must be over run and burnt down before ours ever will be.. Oh to watch all of their sacred cows get pushed over and thrown into the river.. Wokeism is their cancer..
We are the ones providing the lowbrow palliative care.. The things I value have no fixed address.. It can not be canceled..

  5. Thinking here that the speech is in actual fact what the woman believes. It is a good cover for the public performance in real life.
The virtue signaling is a must if you wanna get somewhere in the world of the woke.
A performance is a good way to show your true self and blaming it on the writer and director.

To tell you the truth, don’t know much about the woman and her politics, private or public.
