I have news for you, there are very few men from DPR/LNR fighting. The ones that are involved are used as front line fodder. They are fighting under the Russian flag. It is a war crime to force someone to fight against your own country.

Funny you should ask. I am writing this not for you, as you’re an orc demagogue, but it is interesting information often not available in western sources so hopefully people will find it useful.
First, russians do not count Luganda and Donbabwe loses among their own. They fight on russian side (not like they’re given a choice) they’re used as cannon fodder very often, but russians don’t count them to look good, even if russian contractors and advisers, that de facto run DPK and LPK units above company level, are made good, russians still don’t count them as russian loses.
Second, russians do not count Wagner Group loses as their own.
Third, they do not count Ossetians or Chechens loses as their own.
Fourth, when in early stages, researchers started looking at obituary data we have learned official russian loses were about 40% of what real russian loses were. Hence Pootin, in his traditional manner, imposed censorship and limits on publication of obituaries. SOP for the SOB, he did the same thing when people started paying attention that orcs abort more of their litter than give life births to.
Meanwhile if one of foreign volunteers (more than 26K of them came to Ukraine), or a policeman, or interior ministry dies they are all counted by Pootin’s propaganda machine, in order to inflate Ukrainian Army loses. Same happened when Siberians counted POWs, many of whom were civilians, often state employees, often just random, often those who were foolish enough to complain to Russian authorities about rape or looting. Yes, to this day marauding behavior, raping and pillaging is sanctioned and not punished in Russian forces for as long as soldats are fulfilling their duties. Yes, that is SOP too.
Another interesting aspect is the ethnic make up of Siberian force. We see that Asians are heavily overrepresented. There is very little active recruitment happening in St Petersburg or Moscow. However, in the impoverished, decisively turd world, parts of Russia, recruitment is very heavy and people are being coerced in no uncertain terms to sign contracts. Again SOP, they were happy to sacrifice non ethnic russians during WWII as well.
This happens during conscription, often right after basic, when a barely literate kid is given papers to sign, or else his family may get hurt.
This happens in prisons, violent criminals all over russia got “get out of jail and straight onto front lines” cards.
And this happens among retired military personnel, especially if they have front line specialization where russians suffered heaviest loses.
And thus Pootin then gets to claim that all soldiers are contracted and not conscripted. Typical russian cynicism and maskirovka.
Also worth considering is field medicine. Siberian is at WWII levels, they typically get four heavily wounded for each dead. Ukrainians have civilized levels and tend to get five to eight heavily wounded for each dead. A lot of those who would have died in Siberian forces get saved among Ukrainians. It also translated to severity of wounds. Wounds and injuries competent Ukrainian medical services are able to patch up and following recovery allow the soldier to comeback to the front. Those same wounds if inflicted on a russian are debilitating given Siberian 1970s level medical care and WWII level of front-line medical care.
All in all Polish independent analysists like a well known author and researcher Jaroslaw Wolski estimate Ukrainian loses as 6.5K dead and 41 to 42K wounded. Which is about 13% of their forces after initial mobilization at the start of Siberian invasion. That is very substantial but not close to a defeat especially given the replacements domestic and abroad.
Siberians on the other side, oh boy, at least 14K dad and at least 53K heavily wounded never to comeback to the front. Those are minimal estimates based on independent analysis. Realistically ,when you count those taken prisoner and those missing (say blown to pieces by Ukrainian arty and then eaten by dogs) the combined loses as of last week were around 75K. Which is close to a third of peace time cadre. And this does not count loses for Luganda, Donbabwe, Wagner, Ossetia, Chechens etc, Navy or Air Force.

My initial enthusiasm for the uke’s chances has been tempered by the reality of fighting the ruskies. Odds were long from the outset but you gotta like the uke’s pluck.

I just returned from Ukraine and can tell you that the stories of Russian atrocities are no lies. Some towns were simply obliterated, wholesale looting is occurring and the need for post-HIV exposure meds are great due to the sexual assaults perpetrated by Russian troops on both men and women.
The Russians may end up keeping a chunk of Ukraine and no one should condone that. History will show that the entire free world should have done everything in its power to support the Ukrainian people in stopping the Russian invasion.
