  1. In practice, marxism always seems to end up as neo-fuedalism with someone other than the existing aristocracy in charge.

but also, most of it’s adherents have replaced god with the state

  2. Brilliant! An outstanding answer from Peterson… who doesn’t quite claim to be a Christian? And excellent analysis by James Lindsay. That is EXACTLY what it boils down to. RAGE against the machinery of Being.

And let me add … this is the same RAGE against Being expressed in the Trans-movement. Imagine THAT for a quiet minute … Disney is insisting on teaching your children to HATE their Being … and to blame God for the “mistake” in their gender equipment.

6 years ago, I had never even heard of Jordan Peterson … then I stumbled onto the pages of SDA … and Kate exposed me to one of the greatest psychologist-philosophers in History. Thank you, Kate … you truly are brilliant!

    1. You should tune into his daughter on YouTube and now Rumble.
She is one smart cookie also.

    2. Kenji,
Peterson (is) “one of the greatest psychologist-philosophers in history.”
I, too, respect and appreciate Jordan, but he stands on the shoulders of giants, as I would think he would concede.
He is, in my view, essentially a Jungian psychologist, updating what Jung thought and applying it to our times, while infusing some Jungian interpretations of Biblical thought.
He also draws heavily on Russian thinkers like Dostoevsky et al.
So, in short, I would consider Peterson to be a great synthesizer of many giants of history, who aptly applies old wisdom to current times.
      May he Lobster On.

      1. Fair enough. I simply appreciate his rational thought process and ability to cut through the chaff. I guess my brain is wired the same way … Fair, Gentle, Sympathetic, but ZERO tolerance for bullshit.

  3. A little concerned about the good doctor. He’s still battling some demons. Wish him well.

  4. The problem of evil. Perhaps the concept of ‘free agency’ would address the problem. I will not mention Schopenhauer.

    1. Pessimist, you!
You just had to bring Schopenhauer into the mix.
I would rail on, but, as he said, it ain’t worth it.
      Oh, well…

  5. All set out for those who wish to read in Eric Voegelin’s “Science, Politics and Gnosticism, Two Essays” published in 1959 in German and in English in 1968. A year in which things got off to a bad start and from which we have yet to recover.

    1. A perennial philosophy kinda guy, that Eric.
      Emerson and others preceded him.
Another one standing on hunched shoulders.
      Oh, well.
