    This is not stuff I follow though I did watch the video… but if there’s anything to it, it would surely be timely if it came out before any Freedom Convoy 2022 punitive actions of any kind were taken. There’s a ton of independent journos in your country now, eh?

    I just read “War of the Running Dogs” by Noel Barber about the Malaya Emergency attempt of a communist take-over there. The book has gone back to the library so this is IIRC.

    One of the things that the “Communist Terrorists” didn’t try until too late was Chairman Mao’s two pronged strategy which was to beat up and cower the countryside and force the powers that be back to the main urban areas while disrupting those with strikes etc.

    Seems to me that the truckers have done a “reverse Mao” here where they have “captured the hearts and minds” of the country while taking over the urban and other strategic centres.

  11. The protests really boil down to demonstrating the divide in Canada between the makers vs the takers, the producers vs the parasites. For far too long the parasites have been getting away with murder, figuratively and, on occasion literally, and the politicians have been pandering to them wether it be at Caledonia, at the BLM protests, at the pipeline blockades or whatever “green” nonsense of the day the professional malcontents have dreamt up. Finally, the makers/producers have had enough and as Kate pointed out recently, started to use the tactics of the parasites to poke a finger into the faces of the politicos and those politicos and their laptop industry cheerleaders are pissed. Too damn bad. You wanted to block the roads and the trucks and the pipeline workers and just assumed that those guys and gals with the dirt under their finger nails would work all the harder to get around you and get you all those creature comforts you and your fellow parasites take for granted while you furthered your pet “woke” cause. Well guess what? Now those same truckers have blocked themselves and everything else that moves along those roads and now you’re starting to panic because the impact is real — not a bunch of hyperventilated headlines in a rag no one believes anymore if they even read it, not a bunch of students having to work from home, not people having to use an alternate Starbucks for their morning coffee but real impacts — like people not getting the materials they need to keep working, potentially not getting the food to the grocery stores, not getting the packages they ordered online last week. It’s making blindingly clear to everyone who really makes this country run – no self important journalists spewing a load of BS no one in the know believes, not bloviating politicians telling everyone else how to live their lives, not “activists” throwing a wrench into every piece of the social machinery they can think of, not air-headed academics teaching grievance studies 101 but truckers, and workers who make things and produce things and deliver things. It’s becoming so painfully obvious who makes this country work that the parasites are $#!%%ing themselves because they realize that with each passing day that simple truth is becoming more and more obvious to everyone and by contrast the naked emperor-parasites are looking ever more ridiculous. The jig’s up. And it’s about time.

    3. Remember during the ’80s recession when businesses hung on by their fingernails for years? My spouse & I both worked in the same industry. We saw our firm go from 75 employees to 25 part time. We lost all our benefits as the firm did everything it could to hang on & keep its most experienced staff. There were almost no building permits being issued. No one at the City’s building permit dept. was ever laid off even though they had no work but continued to draw their inflated salaries.

  29. I live in Blaine. Went away for a couple days starting early Friday morning. Coming back late last night and the freeway signs over I-5 said “SR543 Truck Crossing closed, recommend alternate routes”. I assumed maintenance but this is great.
