February 5, 2022: Reader Tips

This evening we look back at the brave souls of the Polish Solidarity movement in the 1980’s: 1981 and then later.  How will Canadian politicians of 2022 be remembered?

Your most informative tips of recent times are much appreciated.

    1. I thought we had some superlative liars in US politics, but this is a whole new level of lying. Does he have a drug addiction problem?

      1. Does he have a drug addiction problem?

Maybe, but it’s more his own arrogance and vanity. Remember who raised him. He grew up believing that anything he did or said had cosmic significance….. because Mommy said it did, or some such thing.

In reality, he’s simply a jumped-up pipsqueak with ideas far beyond his station.

      2. I don’t think his potential drug addiction is the cause of it. Rather it is a combination of three factors.
        (i) below average IQ (I really think he is too stupid to be consciously manipulative)
(ii) chronic narcissism (I bet dollars to donuts he pleasures himself in front of a mirror).
        (iii) cosmic sense of entitlement.
Those three factors combined, create a capricious bully sociopath, but it is instinct not thought or cold calculation that drives him. Instinct, that’s why the range of his responses to challenges is so narrow.

        1. He was reading a script given to him by someone else. He’s just playing a role, not actually leading the nation.

          1. He has the script memorized and uses it on every occasion. It is his own script. his limited intelligence makes him unable to process reality, hence, when challenged, he automatically falls back on the same template every time.

          2. Clearly he’s out of touch with reality big time amongst other issues that he has. The interview that his half brother did that was posted here @ SDA, was an eye opener. (Kyle Kemper)

          1. Yes, and I will challenge anyone to show me a single example of Potato ever constructing a sophisticated and complicated argument. He does not have it in him. It is always pure reflex, conditioning. That also explains why is completely devoid of empathy.

          2. He may be smarter than you think as he would have to be able to rapidly translate Mandarin to read that right out of the Communist China playbook.

            What a disgusting human being.

    1. I’ve never seen it, though I vaguely recall seeing ads for it in the newspapers. Another one for my round tuit list.

I started watching Mean Guns a few minutes ago. I noticed Deborah van Valkenburgh in the cast. Some SDAers may remember her from the late 1970s gang film The Warriors and, shortly after that, the road race flick, KIng of the Mountain (some great cars in that one!).

        1. Thanks for that, I’ve just read a brief description and want to watch it for the cars.

          1. Just finished watching it, I am a sucker for 80s Americana. Cars were epic and that’s about it. Acting was… well ugh neverminded… but fun to watch. Debbie sure has changed a lot between then and Mean Guns.

          2. I wasn’t impressed by the acting in KOTM, either.

I finished watching Mean Guns before going to bed last night. You were right: it was over the top, though I’m not sure if it was a terrible movie or was deliberately made in bad taste. I have to admit, though, that the use of mambo music during many of the fight scenes was, shall we say, inspired.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it shows up on TCM Underground some time.

    2. Colonialista – for the first 2/3 of the 80s I went to parties and nightclubs instead of movies so there are a lot I didn’t see. Like BAD I recall the trailer for it. It was 1986 when I started seeing movies again, like Peggy Sue Got Married with Kathleen Turner, Nicholas Cage and even a young Jim Carrey. She wasn’t that believable as a high school chick but OK as a date movie.

    1. In the past I had thought of him as merely incompetent. His words and behavior this week reveal what a genuinely evil, sniveling POS he is.

  1. My ancestors were from Poland, about 50 kilometers from where Pope John Paul was from originally, and my great grandmother landed in Halifax in 1917 with $10 in her pocket, and instructions to get off the train in Swift Current, Sask, as there will be a man waiting for you at the train station who will marry with you. They had 11 kids including a set of twins (my ex wife and I had twins too) in a house of about 20×20, and 160 acres. I didn’t read of any gov’t handouts aside from the bare land they settled on.

My understanding, is that they came here to be free.
My mom had me when she was 14 years old in Regina at Mercy Hospital, I think it was on Dewdney Avenue in what is now Government House? and was run by the Salvation Army. She gave me up for adoption, and a wonderful (though Liberal) family adopted me and I grew up mostly normal, and loved, in a family of 5 kids.
The first girl I kissed was from Poland, her mom had moved here when she was 12 to marry with a man she’d known when they were teens, I was good friends with her brother through school… but never put too much thought into “being Polish” aside from knowing their life was not a bed of roses over there with the communists ruling their lives.

I ended up in hospital for something or other when I was 21 in 1981 and the nurse had a Solidarity button in white and red near her shoulder, and I understood some people were quite proud of being Polish, and still wanted that freedom… I’m not certain if nurses are permitted now to wear such symbols on their uniforms.
The unions in Canada don’t work for your freedoms anymore.

    1. Kewl Story Marc

      Tks for sharing that….

      My earliest memories of Canada:
WE came a bit later…1957. Was 4-1/2 then.
Mom, Dad, my, lil sis n me, CP Rail from Montreal to Vancouver (flew from Schiphold to Gander in a DC-6). Remember dad getting off the train in the ‘Peg to go grab some bread and in doing so, near missed the train.! We literally came to Canada with the clothes on our backs….and a bread knife.! As did many I suspect.

Have to Thank to a Dutch organization in YVR for initially helping us out and finding accomodations…
I Also recall walking the New Granville St Bridge…before it opened. To a 5 yr old…that was one massive bridge..!!

    2. Wow, Marc amazing story.
I was born and raised in Poland and left as a teenager when the Iron Curtain fell. Came here with my parents. They soon went back and are doing fine. I decided to say. I spent most of my life here. I really don’t want here to turn what there was when I was growing up.

    3. “I didn’t read of any gov’t handouts aside from the bare land they settled on. ”

They paid $10 for it which wasn’t far from actual market value.

  2. Now that oh tool is gone all the leftatds in the press are bloviating about the need for the CPC to move farther to the left. If anyone in the cpc tries to forward this policy they need to be booted immediately.

  3. Here’s what the Corpse want you to think the protests are about.

    https://www.cbc.ca/listen/cbc-podcasts/209-front-burner/episode/15893211-recordings-reveal-duelling-realities-of-trucker-protests

Edited clips of Zello chats allegedly by Convoy participants and supporters, stripped of context, many from obvious trolls and agents provocateurs spouting obvious lunacy and bigotry.

Complete with a commentary by a Jamie Poisson, condescending when she wasn’t giggling at trolls trying to jam Zello channels with obscene rock music. Karl-Eduard von Schnitzler would have been proud.

  4. YVR Robert Dziekanski 2007 Taser incident.
    https://youtu.be/vT3vid3S-tw

As corruption was creeping into the RCMP a Polish citizen became one of the casualties.
May God bless Poland and all its people – they have persevered through many misfortunes in the last 100 years.

    1. Have you read “Poland” the historical novel written by James A. Michener (1983) detailing the times and tribulations of three interconnected Polish families across eight centuries, ending in the then-present day? It’s alledgedly quite accurate. I enjoyed it tremendously.

P.S. The Robert Dziekanski 2007 Taser incident was horrible. This was a murder that should never have happened.

    1. They have some nerve, it’s not their’s to ‘give’ away. Lawsuits will tie this up in Court for ages. I’ll bet, too, that they have the cash in an interest-bearing bank account. Money that will, eventually, be nothing to sneeze at.

    1. Haven’t finished the whole video yet, but it’s wonderful how well organized they are. It’s like a small city within a city.

    1. Since when were logic, rationality, and coherent expression factors in electing him? “He has nice hair” is all that’s needed to keep him in office.

    2. My rage is no longer directed at Castreau but at all the Canadian fuckheads who still support this subhuman swine. You liberal lovers are the enemy and we will not forget. Not now, not ever.

  5. From the Ottawa Citizen:

A $9.8 million class-action lawsuit was launched Friday against organizers of the truckers’ protest, claiming $4.8 million in damages for emotional, mental and other distress, and $5 million in punitive damages, largely due to the protestors’ tactic of continually blaring their truck horns.
Ottawa lawyer Paul Champ filed the claim on behalf of plaintiff Zexi Li, a 21-year-old public servant and uOttawa graduate who lives within five blocks of Parliament Hill.

On a scale of 1-10 how despicable do you think this creature is?

    1. So I can do the same to the government for my emotional, mental and other distress caused by their incompetent actions????? The truckers can do the same because of policies preventing them from earning a living. How about everyone in the damn country stands up and sues the “covid” supporting assholes until they bleed.

    2. They have to prove to the Court how distressed they are. Did they all get ‘scripts from their physicians to calm them down? Shouldn’t their malaise be more chronic. Seems they are more inconvenienced than anything, it’s been only a week. Poor little Zexi Li.

Did they give their lawyer a large retaining fee?

How has it been for you personally Buddy? LindaL? OttawaMJ? and the rest? Do you have any other info that you care to share?

      P.S.

On a personal level in pre 1967 we were inconvenienced on a daily basis when workers were blasting right under our house and the whole street when the City of Montreal built the Métro subway system. It took years. It woke the whole family up and when we were awake the endless stop and go blasts would startle us to the point that we would experience uncontrolled jerks of fright movements — until we realized what it was. Of course, this was an inconvenience for which a physician might’ve prescribed something to us, but we just sucked it up instead and bit our stiff upper lip.

There were no helicopter parents in those says, on the first day when line 1 opened, my friends and I took a ride to Atwater where the Montreal Forum is. Les Canadiens were likely playing that night.

  6. Ohio Father FORCES an END to School Board’s Mask Mandate for Children

JEFFERSON COUNTY, OHIO November 14th, 2021– Indian Creek Local Board of Education has decided not to extend their mask mandate policy; after a resident demanded they come to an end. While he has no children in the district himself. A man preferring to be recognized as Steve is a father and a Jefferson County resident.
He and several others appeared maskless at a Board Meeting on Thursday, October 21st.

But Steve came prepared with more than words. He had the law on his side.

    1. Students in Drayton Valley, Alberta show up to class unmasked.
      They are threatened with suspension.
One unidentified social studies teacher has said he’s deducting 25% off of each of his students who are protesting.

At 4min 15sec there a comment about a UCP non-confidence vote against Kenney.
Any idea how the vote went???

      1. Just texted my MLA inquiring about that. Wait, he already got back to me. Says it’s not true.

        Damn.

        1. Maybe the Drayton Valley vid is referring to this.

Leaked emails show UCP caucus frustration with Kenney
          Its from 2 days ago.
          https://youtu.be/Sd3qk6D77-Y

At 30 seconds of this 2 minute video
“Just a thought, defuse the border confrontation and remove the REP (Restrictions Exemption Program) as of midnight, two birds with one stone.
How is it that the ENTIRE CAUCUS agrees to a solution and it can be ignored?”
David Hanson MLA Bonnyville-Cold Lake-St Paul.

“100% agree Dave, the caucus has spoken yet the executive council decides otherwise? ”
          Glen van Dijken

“We are the gov’t that works for the people and we damn well should be doing what they want. Who is running the show??”
          Angela Pitt

          1. NO’Toole found the consequences of ignoring caucus. Mind you if the caucus fired Kenney our foreign born Lieutenant Governor appointed by the peckerhead Turdeau might call an election instead of appointing another Conservative chosen by caucus.
An aside – She is a Muslim and was appointed as a dame of the Order of St. John. Just curious but how the fcuk does that happen? A non Christian appointed to an order in honour of St. John the Baptist.

    1. The Trucker Freedom Convoy is obviously forcing the Nazi Liberals into the light for all their so-called friends and associates to see. Take names.

    1. Oh, it’s probably just one of the [deep breath] antisemitic, Islamophobic, anti-Black, homophobic, transphobic, racist, anti-science, misogynistic, space-occupying, fringe sect members.

      Did I miss anything?

  7. I just got back from a car convoy in Windsor Ont. We had a good turnout. We drove along Huron Church which is the main access to the USA bridge. The convoy was in the two right lanes and was at least 1.5km long. The third lane was left open for trucks and boarder traffic. Lots of flags, signs and smiling faces; sorry MSM, no violence. I did learn that honking is infectious!

  8. Kate,

Now is the time to get all Canadian Politicians On Record about the Trucker Convoys and Freedom Protests. MP, MLA, Mayor, City Council, etc. Every Elected Official. Think of this as the Great Dividing Line.

Get them to commit in Emails, on Video (ideally on video), or in audio conversations how they feel about the protests. Do they support the protests? Should the protests end? Are the protesters all white supremacists? What about their supporters? Are the protests peaceful or violent? Do they need to be tracked down and punished? What have they done to end the protests? Do they support the goals of the protesters? What do they feel about the mandates?

Notice how most of these above questions mimic the Establishment Media Narrative? Bet the Establishment Politicians will follow the narrative? Great! These are the ones you want to vote down next election. Get many people to document their answers, so they fail if they say they were taken ot of context, or those were all lies. After all, concerned constituents should be emailing, meeting with and calling their politicians for advice. So, get them all on record.

  9. La Gouvernement de français is playing games avec le money.

    https://www.msn.com/en-ca/entertainment/other/quebec-cuts-funding-to-english-college-in-favour-of-french-schools-ahead-of-election/ar-AATtMCT?ocid=entnewsntp

“after promising in 2020 to fast-track $100 million for the downtown [English] school, the Quebec government suddenly reversed course last week, saying the money would be better spent on Dawson’s French-language counterparts in the junior college system, known as CEGEPs. That decision sparked dismay in the anglophone community and accusations the government wants to shore up its nationalist base ahead of this year’s election.”

Of course it has nothing to do with the upcoming election.
