Screw you guys I’m staying home.
Elections Canada last night calculated turnout in Monday’s general election was only the second-worst since Confederation. An estimated 58.9 percent of electors cast ballots compared to the record low 58.8 percent in 2008: “We will have to consider this.”
Of course Butt’s is taking this as evidence of liberal genius.
Democracy dies with lack of choice
exactly and having a quicky summer election was the LIEBRAL plan. Unfortunately, some Canadians were paying attention at their cabins.

babylonbee nails this one…
OTTAWA — “After calling an early election, as is his kingly right,
Justin Trudeau appears to have narrowly carried enough votes
in yesterday’s election to secure another term as Sultan of Canada.
“Bring my camel, bring my scimitar!” laughed Trudeau as he
carefully applied blackface.

Running Canada into the ground is just one big Party for your well foot-dressed PM
Kenji, it also dies with a first past the post system and 5 or 6 parties running. The system is broken and the people are far too stupid to understand that freedom is what they are flushing.
At least many PPC voters got out and became spoilers to this crap of no choices to vote for.
Yup, it’s all the fault of voters like me:

How long do you think I should do penance?
Never, unless you were in a swing riding …
Completely what I expect from Gerald’s Butt – gas, and more gas.
Well, I just think not voting is irresponsible, sorry … (yes, I am Canadian and apologize even when I am right). One may not like the choices on the table, but a decision will happen, with or without you, so my view is to make the tough decision among undesirable choices and VOTE. This is not an opinion poll with a none-of-the-above option. It still matters.
Perhaps people who choose not to vote prefer to have other people make decisions for them or, mostly, do not care or think that it matters. Think about how hard it was to be able to vote in the past, and the milestones achieved. In Canada, only landowners could vote at first. The right to vote is part of our civic responsibility, mostly a concept ignored in these selfish times.
https://electionsanddemocracy.ca/voting-rights-through-time-0/brief-history-federal-voting-rights-canada.
Spoiling ballots does not achieve anything either. Better to write letters of protest to MPs or the media etc.
Imagine: over 40% of Canadians do not vote these days, as they are too lazy, busy, angry, scared or feel voting is a hopeless exercise. The more people who avoid their civic duty, the worse democracy becomes. Those 40% could have changed the election results – think about that!
WE DON’T HAVE A CHOICE OF ISSUES THAT OUR GOVERNMENTS IGNORE!
Canada is in deep shit from our politicians ignoring important issues to become actors on the world stage.
The actual path we currently are on is totally unachievable and will only end in a disastrous economic crash with no recovery possible as our politicians have destroyed industry and made everything illegal.
MPs DO pay attention to issues! Call them or write letters. I would especially recommend letters that say too many decisions are left to the PM and PMO. Back benchers would definitely champion that feedback. If you want a voice, get involved in your local EDA or write an MP.
Only noisy people, often with woked or unwoked funding, get results these days.
That is the biggest pile of horseshit.
They haven’t listened for over 40 years now and follow the United Nations path or some other person giving them Bribes.
Why do you think your forced to pay insurance by law…
This experimental vaccination has a warning of user beware but our governments ignore this, why?
Corruption up and down this slimy snake.
They haven’t listened for over 40 years now
You’ve got that right. I once wrote a letter to my MP at the time (PC) and he didn’t even have the decency to respond directly to me. One of his office munchkins answered and she didn’t tell me anything that I didn’t already know.
Useless twit.
Would be interesting if only those that pay taxes were eligible to vote.
Think here the rest would sharpen up pretty fast.
Of course, it is those that get the free stuff.
I’m pretty sure everyone here can read between Butts’ lines and know that he’s talking about and telegraphing the gerrymandering the Liberals are doing to our electoral map. Liberals get less votes, but win more seats. They have a large number of people working on this by creating new ridings in regions that they own (urban TO and MTL) and minimize ridings in other areas (rural). If conservatives aren’t countering this, we’ll begin seeing the Liberal party lose the popular vote and somehow form a majority government. It doesn’t surprise me that Butts is openly bragging about what is effectively a complete breakdown of our democracy.
// creating new ridings in regions that they own (urban TO and MTL) and minimize ridings in other areas (rural). //
Rural ridings have smaller populations than urban, so your comment doesn’t wash.
Vote is supposed to be by population, not acreage.
Finally, ridings, voting regulations, etc are set by a federal institution, not any party.
That’s why you don’t hear complaints about gerrymandering by any party.
So by efficiency I assume Butts means they’re only worried about pleasing seat rich areas. As seen in this election once again it really comes down to Toronto and Montreal voters and a few seats in Vancouver. It’s clear that they’re not looking to appease voters out west by design. This would actually hurt their votes back in Toronto so in the end we’re just screwed. Trudeau’s continued success is based on screwing the west.
This idea in the West that 1 adult person/no questions asked = 1 vote will destroy everything, if it’s not already too late. The vote should have a mandatory 5 minute session with basic abc questions:
– What the Left in general stands for?
a
b
c
– What the Right/Conservatives stand for? a) b) c)
– How much is 5 + 5 * 5?
a 50
b 30
c 15
etc
You answer to 10 random such questions and you get a score 0 – 100% after which you actually vote. Well, your choice will weigh exactly that. If you answered 10% to those questions, your vote will be 10%. I mean Yeah, you voted for the Prime Moron 3rd time but at least your vote is 1/10th from a full vote. This way you can vote no pb (Human Rights/basic freedoms are there) + the country prevents/fights an Idiocracy outcome.
LOL…Butts and his twitter account…he uses his dog to hide that big bulbous nose of his.
The kind of nose that enters a room five minutes before he does.
he uses his dog to hide that big bulbous nose of his
Shouldn’t his using his dog as a prop be considered cruelty to an animal?
People are free to vote what they like and I to dislike it, but woe betide the next non-voter who tells me “they’re all the same.”
Apparently many Echos, Gen Xers, Millennials and others weren’t angry enough with Trudeau to get off their butts and vote.
10% lower turnout than last time? Canadians don’t turn out to vote against things, far too many don’t turn out at all.
When good people do nothing, we end up electing tyrants. We get the politicians we deserve my late father-in-law said.
Every party leader failed in this election. Every one of them. They failed Canadians more than they failed themselves.
Taking the easy way out means having to do it the hard way later. Something for nothing means nothing for something.
Canadians think times are good but it they look at their spending they will see themselves going further into debt.
When that debt is no longer cheap as Grits monetize their borrowing through the BoC, they won’t care about interest rates.
They’ll save themselves at the citizens expense, especially the “rich” taxpayers.
Chretien taxed incomes in excess at $100,00 today at over 50%. The current Grits are only halfway there.
So, consent of the governed means 30% of 60% or 18% of eligible voters voted for the Spawn and his fellow sociopaths. How about a constitutional amendment that stipulates that no law shall be passed by any parliament that does not represent 50% plus one of the governed. That would mean that in this parliament, it would take 84% in favour for any bill to pass. Given that 99.9% of all bills passed in my lifetime have been immoral, stupid, ignorant, divisive, costly, and destructive, how could that not be good.
This. Absolutely.
I offer the following analogy.
It’s like going into a big box mall.
Among the various retailers you browse through their shelves for a product but to no avail and each time you ask a sales clerk if they stock what you where looking for they all try to sell you a different product you don’t want and don’t need but with different coloured packaging.
About half the local population comes to the mall but only about a third of those that do ever find what they where looking for and the rest are told they have to accept what’s on offer. There is another product on offer that looks like a real alternative but the retailers in the mall had that product blacklisted.
The voter turnout was low because O’Toole flip flopped.
Everyone knew the “new” CPC party was a throwback to the ’90s. Failing to plan is planning to fail. O’Toole had no plan other than he agrees with the Lieberals. His eastern backers told him they could make more money with the Lieberals and they needed him to fail.
Bring Maxime in to run the party. He showed he’s in touch with the needs of Canada. The western CPC should step forward and invite Maxime back as he is carrying the message of the average westerners.
That decision (one way or the other) will clear the deck. Maverick is waiting in the wings.
Why would any westerner look at Maverick..??
Their idea of “Independence” is working through the framework of a totally skewed CON-federation…one that totally favours the East with said East having 100% ZERO desire to upset their carefully crafted political power set up..why the Fk would they..??? Answer me that..?
That & their acceptance of IPCC bullshit to boot..?
Nothing short of a Super Majority for Wild Rose Independence and declaring UDI stat…will suffice for me…screw this Bullshit country of migrants and diverse garbage..
… Can I get back to you?
Thanks
Unite the right under Maxime. I like it.
PPC voters can hold their heads high knowing that their vote did not endorse what’s coming down the pike.

The Gathering Storm – Albert Finney:

We had an expression in the military to cover that kind of thinking – dead right; in this case empowering corrupt collectivists.
But PPC are far from alone in that boat. Soon we’ll all be there together – bailing water to delay our sinking, in shared misery.
Except for our neo-regents of course, demanding their same slice of a smaller pie, until they run out of our money.
But being consistent communists and tantrum tyrants, they’ll blame us for their addled worldview and transactions of decline.
Assuming they’ve not done so already with program spending requiring borrowing, not including debt service and rates rising.
The numbers are these, though I’m old and my calculation maybe out of whack.
Of the 100 % of eligible voters, 58.9% actually voted.
32% percent of them voted for the so called “Liberals”.
Of 100% of eligible voters, 18.85% voted “Liberals”
So then you have that.
Now they rule with a 20% electoral base, despite losing the popular vote; regional rumps, with only one Grit seat west of ON.
Time for a Western Canadian Party, led by libertarian ideas, with conservatives welcome, with a mandate to separate if necessary but not necessarily. Why should Quebec have all the fun demanding fiscal bribery to stay in Confederation?
So,now the vanity project is over.
Any thoughts on defendable borders for the nation Of Buffalo?
Strategically we can claim huge areas of land if we have the support of the rural folk who dwell there.
The Progressive strongholds can be isolated and starved out, once they lose their legal right to steal from the productive, the stampede of the Parasites will be glorious to behold.
The USA States below us,almost guarantee those borders will hold.
The Rockies simplify Western limits,no access to the North and to the East??
Thunder Bay or even North bay look like perfect choke points.
And we know how abandoned most rural Ontarian’s are .
They too have no representation in the Governance of Can Ahh Duh.
The pockets of Socialist Paradise in between can be treated like the cities, for without the flow of Federal bribes, they will starve.
And without the West to steal from, the Feds have no credit.
Is it still sedition to plan to abandon a country that left you?
Independence has real costs.
Borders.
Common rules. means of protecting and enforcing both.
I notice none of these things being discussed.
How would an independent west avoid the mass of takers, who have destroyed Canada?
What “help” would you refuse?
Twenty or thirty years ago, some wise guy legally changed his name to “zznone of theabove”, so his name would appear lastbon the ballot. He managed to get a lot of votes foo.
Yup we need to organize 338 of them”zznone of the above the first”.
through to “zznone of the above the threehundreth and thirty eighth”
As apparently Elections Canada does not allow numbers.
