  1. It makes me wonder why anyone calling themselves conservative in Western Canada would vote for the Cons instead of Max. On the same link, Andrew Coyne smears Max in what a few short years ago would read like an NDP hit piece. The Covid Stalinism has certainly brought out the inner communist in the “centrist” pundits.

    1. Coyne is the uncle of Trudeau I’s love child. Not that he bears any responsibility for his sister, or her decision to bear the child of man who was close to 70…but, he’s now got Trudeau family ties.

I don’t like contradicting Carlin, but it’s really not all that big a club, and its exclusivity is one of the attractions for “elitists”.

Whatever its size, you and I ain’t in it.

      1. Deborah Coyne, who birthed PET’s love child, is Andrew Coyne’s cousin, not his sister.

Undoubtedly, when she spread ’em for Pierre, she had to hold a photo of a certain CTV newscaster in front of her face so he could get it up.

According to reliable sources I have heard from, both Pierre and Justin are bi.

        1. According to reliable sources I have heard from, both Pierre and Justin are bi.

I’m shocked, shocked I tells ya! Just kidding – actually it’s been my observation that leftists will diddle anything with a pulse.

    2. Coyne’s a media mutt. Claims he plays it straight down the middle and hammers out the occasional and very mild anti-Liberal piece so he can point to it later as proof of his neutral bona fides. A trick many socialist pundits have learned over the years to hide their bias.
Coyne’s claim to fame is the elder Trudeau used to boink his cousin when the gay rumours got too intense and quelle surprise actually fathered a child!!!
I’d love to ask Coyne whether the “Rosedale Club” is still a thing with him and his high falutin’ socialist friends like Jonathan Kay and Zach Paikin, Paikin of course being the possessor of Canada’s most punchable face. It’s a pretty exclusive all boys club where the “invite only” patrons sip scotch and suck on the finest cigars in their leather lazyboys while discussing the serious issues facing Canada.
Yeah, you’re a real mover and a shaker Andy.

    3. Interesting how “mandate” has become the chosen way of governing now. Mandate: an authoritative command , or an authorization to act given to a representative. It’ strange how our elected and unelected officials now consider they have a “mandate” to rule by mandate, and go around mandating all sorts of things we never agreed to.

      1. Don’t forget: when Harper won with 35.8% of the vote, he had no mandate according to the strident chorus of the media. Yet when Zoolander won with 35.3% of the vote, the land rang with Huzzahs for the great mandate that the Spawn had won, even though he likely thought that a mandate was what he and Gerry used to have on the weekends.

  2. Stupid is as stupid does. Neither the Cons or the Libs are prepared for the bill that awaits their stamp of approval for the infrastructure changes needed to support ZEV vehicles. Nor is there the time to get the infrastructure in place to meet the demand they will falsely create.

    1. *
quotas, huh? puts me in mind of the old bob hope chestnut…

“I’ve just flown in from California, where they’ve made homosexuality legal.
I thought I’d get out before they make it compulsory.”

      1. Who Killed the ICE Automobile? Your UniParty political superiors Killed the ICE Automobile.

Free Markets can ONLY be destroyed by illegitimate government Power. Pssst … we are no longer a Capitalist, Free Market Economy. Psssst … we’re fucked.

    2. EV’s. the modern day Socialists LADA.

Where oh where will they get the needed Generation..??

HYDRO is pretty much tapped out WORLDWIDE- Theres only so many rivers.?
(And should these mofo’s dare Damn the NAHANNI..?? I’m betting there will be massive blowback on that…and much of it from our Reconciliated 3rd or 4th..? “nation”

Fossil Fuels..? ha ha ha ha ….. not likely

Natural Gas … again, not likely

WIND N SOLAR. Beyond laughable – Boutique Bullshit for the Champagne Socialists who could give a rats meow where THEIR power comes from.

Their ONLY VIABLE Option is NUCLEAR…..again, AS IF..!!
EV’s are a 100% Bullshit burger…and will be totally USELESS in the Coming ICE Age.

      1. And all it will take is one mass coronal ejection (we’re due, they’re cyclical) to fry the whole grid!!

  3. I’ll never understand how any conservative, classical liberal, or libertarian could in good conscience vote for the CPC. Getting rid of Trudeau is not good enough if you are voting for the exact same policies as the Liberals.

I voted PPC on Monday and so did my two adult children. Hell even my ex voted PPC.

Wake up CPC voters the Conservative Party is no longer Conservative and has not been since the leadership was stolen from Max.

Make a statement to the globalist fascist that control the uni-party and vote PPC to shake things up.

    1. An exact blueprint on how to elect Trudeau, this country is screwed if they follow your advice. Max will get his chance but it won t be till a couple more elections are experienced or maybe none if we allow Trudeau back in.

      1. The fact that you don’t even try to defend the CPC is very telling. If all you got is “get rid of Trudeau” then the CPC has already lost. Replacing Trudeau with a Party that will follow Trudeau’s Fascist policies is insane. It is like voting for Stalin to get rid of Hitler. Duh!

      2. WTF cares if Justin is re-elected if the alternative is another lefty control freak like the Stoole?
Another term by either of these will put this effing joke of a country out of our misery I would just as soon have justin first against the wall as opposed to a pissant wind sniffer like the Toole, he isn’t even worthy of a bullet.

  4. Anytime our governments try this shit, it’s ALWAYS a disaster!!!
They have no clue on the logistics or mechanics along with the massive debt that they don’t care about.

Should be good for a laugh how they try to impose this when everyone knows what shit this technology is.
Just keep watching for the crashes and fires.
Even the manufacturers warn of keeping this vehicle indoors.

    1. I doubt these vehicles would start in the morning after spending a night outside in Prince George in January. Perhaps the guvvermint intends to build everyone in the north a heated garage.

I find it highly amusing that the same people who campaign for EV’s are the same people who are dead against the Site “C” dam.

  5. When is the separation referendum?

Though, if the gov’t can mandate your right to enter into a restaurant, or theatre, or travel internationally, they can certainly mandate what you’re permitted to drive, or how much you’ll be taxed for driving.

  6. Forcing people to buy electric vehicles is like forcing people to become vegetarians.

but it is actually worse than that

Imagine if the government gave you up to $13,000 Dollars to become a vegetarian…crazy right?

well that is how much money you can get in Quebec if you buy an electric car; up to $ 13,000

Pardon my French but that is f***ked up.

    1. Even giving them away won’t work as the technology is that bad.
Small range of distance between charges.
Long recharging time for going another small distance.
Batteries are explosive and flammable as well as electrocution to backyard mechanics.
Batteries lose power over time and when needed replacement costs are extreme.
Your a slave to technical updates to computer components.
No value when replacing the vehicle due to batteries and technology changes.
I imagine insurance would be a killer as well.

      1. yup!

and in cold climates, in winter batteries lose half their power, the car loses half its range

and our hard earned tax dollars are given to people who buy those inneficient cars…it is insane.

  7. Is this the 2021 version of the 1960s personal gyrocopter that we were all going to have by 1980?

Mine is still in the shop.

Something Max could perhaps mention more frequently, “do you really want to be forced to drive an electric vehicle within 10-15 years?”

Hybrid seems a better choice to me, there is a cut in gasoline usage but no need to plug the thing in or recharge it. But I would just offer incentives to shift the percentage of hybrid vehicles.

Full-on electric is great for golf courses and enclosed residential areas nearby, if you want to tootle around at 15-20 mph.

  8. To all those SDAers that are frustrated that we are NOT voting strategically to oust the Turd, but actually voting our conscience, what do you think of your strategy now?

Still think that the Tool will do anything different?

    1. In Trudeauland, it seems you’ve got four mainline parties, and another in Quebec, that are a variation of Maoist or Bolshevik. That’s a lot of vote-splitting on the murderous totalitarian left side of the political spectrum.

When you look at it, 95% of Canadians pretty much agree on the substantive issue of freedom vs. authoritarianism. For those of us within the 5% minority that chooses freedom, how can “vote splitting” have truly significant consequences?

      1. Excellent post! Well said.

The CPC will not stop the coming concentration camps for the un-vaccinated. The neo fascist are not coming, they are already here in the Liberal, Conservative, NDP, Green and BQ parties.

If you are a critical thinker and vote for anyone other then the PPC you are voting for you own future incarceration when the government will lock you up for your own protection of coarse.

    2. fc
PRECISELY…both cut from the same shat upon diarrhea filled diaper.

And if you look at O’stool when he is talking about some campaign plank…you can almost Smell the full on FASCISM in his eyes and mannerisms.
      Carbon Copy of PM Shitferbrains

Arrogant, SMUG, Fully Bought n Paid fer bits of SHIT – the both of them
I voted PPC on Friday – wife will same on the 20th.

      1. Their treatment of RebelNews is pretty indicative of where the CPC’s loyalties lie. They are just another E. establishment party that operates from the top down. Since the PPC is the only ‘national’ party that has a platform resembling conservatism, I think that those stubbornly clinging to the CPC are the true “vote splitters”.

    3. You don’t get it, do you? I will vote Cons/NDP/Green/Bloc not because I like them, but because this is the only chance to oust Little Fidel. I don’t like any of the leaders (including the Maxipad and the church of his worshipers masquerading as a party). So I pick the one who I want destroyed the most and use others to do it. Simple a that.

        1. What do you expect from a putz that uses terms like ‘maxi pads’. It’s chimps like him that have gotten us in this mess! No party is entitled to my vote, we should all vote our concience and if we did that we would be far better off today, Colonialista is drunk on STUPID!

          1. “…we should all vote our concience…”

Yes, be conscious of consequences of your actions.

      1. colon rectomus R~4

Must be that Pee8ch Dee yah gots that makes you so smarrer, what discipline is it in, Stupid in Overdrive????

        NME666

      2. So if I understood your reasoning, you’d replace Fidel with Mao. How’s that going to change things for the better?

  9. I loath Trudeau, not uncommon in this bIog. I wanted to feel good about the CPC but they repeatedly infuriate with their woke Liberal light platform and ideas. I had no choice but to vote for Max. I plan to build a flag pole and fly the Red Ensign {perhaps at half mast) and morn the Canada that used to be.

  10. Manitoba is one of the largest producers of hydro electric power around. We regularly export huge quantities to the USA and we recently started helping Saskatchewan get off coal power.

Problem: Manitoba Hydro can’t export power this year due to drought conditions reducing the water supply.
    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-hydro-drought-export-revenue-wfpcbc-cbc-1.6173675

“In response to drought conditions, Manitoba Hydro is managing water in storage in Lake Winnipeg for energy security – to ensure reliable hydro-electric operations on the Nelson River can be maintained during the winter when all Manitobans depend on energy for home heating,” Hydro spokesperson Bruce Owen said in a statement.”

So exactly where is all this extra electricity going to come from?

    1. I think the CPC and LPC answer would be, who says you have a right to drive?

Things don’t have to make sense. It is a bunch of garbage spewing a bunch of garbage from their mouths.
      Don’t sweat it, they aren’t.

      1. There will be no right to drive, you will be allocated a certain number of kilometers depending on your social credit position, EG: a salesman who must travel to meet and service clients will have a higher number of klicks than a retired person living in small town Canada. Someone living in a metropolitan city will be relegated to public transportation except for a few well connected individuals. The days of jumping into the family car and driving from eastern Ontario to one of the western provinces or vice versa will be long gone, more government control of citizens which is what this whole thing is all about.

    2. Justin….is “Keeyask” up n running..??

I worked as a QA Inspector for ALL the Structural Steel built in Wausau, Wis (Merril Iron n Steel – a Fab Shop that literally took a Full Square City Block – covered…unreal. A great gig working with some awesome folks there.

T’was my last kick at the can to end my Inspection Career ….for now.

  11. One of Harper’s disappointments to me was when he legislated what kind of light bulbs we weren’t allowed to have. This is much worse because the message it conveys is that “yes, Alberta must go the way of the NFL Cod fishery BUT, our timetable is not as fast as the LPC/NDP/ Green’s”. The reality, aside from the myth of CAGW, is that E-vehicles are not “green”, there is no infrastructure, and they are not suited for Canada’s climate except for urban run-around and golf carts and scooters. As with everything else, the state has no right or business to point a gun at peaceful citizens demanding what they are allowed to buy or not.

    1. You’re welcome to that opinion. You are not welcome to empower a sociopath hiding behind the power of the state enforcing your opinion at gun point. That would make you a fascist asshole.

    2. Well sonny, (LIBERAL voter eh..?? you reek of that)
I’ll be driving my Duramax for many years to come and think Auto Mechanic will be a rather lucrative profession in years to come…NO.??

But you go boyo…GO get that Chevy BOLT..!!

    3. An imagined conversation with “Guy”.
Me: I want you to spell “cat” as in catastrophic.
      Guy: That’s easy: c.a.t.
Me: That’s good. Now spell “dog” as in dogmatic.
      Guy: That’s easy, too: d.o.g.
Me: That’s great, Guy. I can tell that you’re really smart. Now spell : “f*ck” as in electricity.
Guy: What? Do you take me for a fool? There is no “f*ck” in electricity.
      Me: Precisely.

      1. You goofs know nothing about the state of the art in battery and electrical tech. Get educated and then you are entitled to an opinion. Bunch of ideologues who would still be riding horses long after the automobile was mass produced. Cars took over from horses in only 10 years because of economics and convenience. The ev transition will be faster. Get educated and shove your stupid assumptions aside for a
        moment and learn.

        1. Got $100k kicking around keep up with the Greenie Jones’ ?

          Didn’t think so.

And no, not buying a mini clown car or fire bomb either. You can drive those fugly, low range, heating optional roller skates.

        2. Lol. You know you’re listening to a cult member as soon as you hear “Get educated” on any particular topic.

        3. I’m certainly not against a rocket of an EV car BUT you need to upgrade the grid and every transformer on every block. Every battery will need to be replaced.
Where is all that battery material coming from? The Congo? K-bec?
Add in the power supplier draining your car in the middle of the night because the temperature dropped. Are the snowplows going to be electric? The dump trucks? The transports?
Cities will charge their buses before you get to charge your car.
Then lets get rid of natural gas furnaces – don’t kid yourself its coming – and then you can’t heat your home even paying $2000.00 a month in electricity because…city buildings and buses and offices.
The government will take all the energy first and you’ll freeze to death probably quickly because you’re starving.

Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the mouth.

        4. I have nothing against new technology (electric vehicles predate ICE automobiles) but if your opinion is so much more enlightened, would you mind explaining why Battery cars must be subsidized with money taken at force from ICE vehicle drivers and then legislated by force to replace ICE vehicles. Or does being “entitled to an opinion” betray an inner fascism superior to those relying on the live and let live ethos of the free market.

        5. Brilliant Gunnar.
Why would I doubt your wisdom?
Having been in the Electrical Business since 1976,of course I know nothing of the failure of the electric car and all about the weight energy advantages of batteries over Internal combustion and the awesome range advantage batteries possess over liquid fuel..
Naturally you have that magic battery that will possess the energy equivalent of a jerrycan of gas at the same weight..
          What?
          You don’t?
But you coulda been a billionaire.
Get educated you say..So why are you so ignorant?
          Learn?
          OK.
How much energy does a battery produce?

        6. You don’t even know how to spell your own name, fuckwit. Why would we listen to anything you say about any topic at all?

  12. Imagine where the Conservatives would be if they hadn’t chased half their base into the PPC with their anti-conservative policies.

According to 338Canada’s individual riding data, if the PPC vote is added to the CPC vote, the Conservatives would win another 30 seats.

Of course not all PPC supporters would go back to the CPC any time soon and many never would but ignore that for now.

If the CPC and PPC were theoretically united they would be ahead in 338’s seat count by 156 to 124 for the Liberals, as opposed to Libs at 146 to 126 for the Tories as it stands now.

A united CPC-PPC would take 22 seats from the Liberals, 5 from the NDP, 2 from the Greens, and 1 from the Bloc that they are now on track to lose.

A united CPC-PPC would pick up 18 of those seats in Ontario, and smaller numbers in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

If CPC supporters look at this and blame Max voters for their impending loss, they should look instead to their own leader and his policies that made this mass defection from the Uniparty {Blue division} all but inevitable.

    1. An apologist for the Red Tories would counter that by cleansing the CPC of those nasty right wingers, they have attracted all those large numbers of mindless mushy middle “centrists” from the left and therefore you PPC voters just have to know your place, shut up and vote CPC. They are about to be alternatively schooled.

    2. “Imagine where the Conservatives would be if they hadn’t chased half their base into the PPC with their anti-conservative policies.”

Bravo. The problem in a nutshell.

I didn’t leave the CPC. They left me.

      Fuck ’em.

      1. Well, if the CPC had a better leader voting system, we would have had MAX! Ranked ballot systems are unpredictable, especially with unlimiting votes ahead of time with no feedback between rounds, ending up with also-rans.

  13. The CPC shills will shut up for a few minutes, before their shrill voices start up again.
Where is Colonialista, to tell me how bad bikes are, when he wants to vote for forced bikes? Unless he’s a new Tesla fan?

    1. Great, you had another thought, managed to capture some of it and are proudly demonstrating it above. No it does not have anything to do with your other thought. But it is good to see you presenting multiple thoughts and not even mention Hitler once.

      1. Great, you got nothing to say but to vote for gun control, vax passports, identity politics, and a carbon tax, and now for bikes.
You sire, are a liberal, as your vote demonstrates.

  14. How will they deliver post election? It will be impossible to increase sales of EVs globally due to lack of battery materials, toxic waste handling etc. Therefore they will just make vehicle ownership a rare privilege only available to elites and restrict sales of IC vehicles.

    1. Ding, ding, ding. Give this man a round of applause. That’s precisely the plan – make private car ownership impossible for the unwashed masses and force them onto public transit.

        1. Vote splitting is when you vote PPC.
Protein sharing is when Little Fidel deposits his load in you.
          You’re right, same thing really.

  15. How ironic….golfed with two guys early this morning. At some point I could hear a discussion about their driving to Parry Sound on the weekend. One gent drives a Nissan ev and they both came to the conclusion that it would not make it from Hamilton to Parry Sound . EVs are just another retarded leftist boondoggle……..that I and others are forced to pay for .

    1. Right now in Texas and Louisiana there are 500.000 without power some expected to last up to two weeks or longer, what and how would ambulances, police cars, power company vehicles, and even private cars and trucks operate under flood conditions with the added problem of zero recharging facilities.

  16. Better question is how is the world going to produce all the minerals needed to meet all the EV mandates out there? And expand the electricity grid to support charging all these EVs? That alone isn’t going to happen, before the question of actually selling EVs becomes the issue.

  17. Go ahead, tell the idiots what they want to hear. And then break your promise. It’s what Justin did his whole time as PM. And they seemed to love him for it. Go figure.

  18. You have two choices this election.

    1. A lot of suck.
    2. Even more suck plus little Fidel.

The choice is yours. You do not have a third choice.

    End of story.

    1. IOW, vote for the asshole or the shithead gets in. And now for the rest of the story:
If we all voted for the asshole, he might get a highly unstable minority government where any non-leftist substantive legislation would be impossible with the parliament of communists to rely on. If we voted for the only conservative party, shithead gets re-elected with a smaller minority than he had before and would likely be taken out by his party power brokers within a year or two, particularly if another election was possible. A gain from 2% to 6% for the PPC is win for the only conservative party in Canada.

      1. “…vote for the asshole or the shithead gets in”

        Yes.

Shithead will not get a smaller minority. Probably will gain a few seats. It will be enough to stay in power. In the meantime more replacement voters will be imported to make sure next time he gets a majority especially if the “only conservative party” keeps on diligently helping him. We’re fucked one way or another. The only choice is keep shithead or give him a boot.

      1. “Now” ? Ok now, nevermind moving on.
“we” who the fuck is “we”?

        So your plan is:
        1. Vote for a Kebeker.
        2. Get another Kebeker re-elected.
        3. Watch him import hundreds of thousands of replacement voters to Redmonton and Nenshitown.
        4. ??????
        5. Separation.

Ok brilliant plan. Nothing could possibly go wrong with it.

  19. I live in Calgary Centre riding, with over 95,000 electors. Neither the PPC nor Maverick have fielded a candidate. I recently got a frantic email from a prospective PPC candidate begging for my signature on his candidacy papers. I called him, left a message, saying I was willing to sign his papers immediately (as they were due that afternoon). He called back, I identified that he was associated with the PPC, and I again said I was willing to sign. He got directions to my house and said he would show up in an hour. He never showed. Maybe I should have applied for candidacy, but I have very little patience for people in general these days. It was fun today, though, to receive a call from the Liberal candidate’s team asking if they could count on my support and telling them “abolutely not, goodbye”. I suspect I will hold my nose and vote CPC but then innundate my (incumbent) candidate with right wing suggestions/information.

  20. The 3 major parties all have economic platforms designed to ultimately turn Canada into Venezuela. The only difference is the speed at which they plan to get us there. This electric car insanity has me wanting to buy a big barn somewhere and fill it with good used 4×4 internal combustion vehicles, because after a few years of these electric car mandates, it’s going to look like Havana around here, with lots of 50 and 60 year old cars still on the road – because those are the only cars we’ll have! It’ll only take one good winter to demonstrate that (a) winter is murder on battery powered cars, and (b) Canada is essentially uninhabitable without fossil fuels.

    1. All this talk about EV’s and the political class in this country has reminded me of a fellow SDAer’s analogy. I have his permission to steal it, so here goes…
You have a Canadian Car (kudos to that now-defunct bus company that helped us win the war. Those buses were built like tanks, but I digress) driven by a lie-beral, with a Dipper in the back seat, and a Con in the passenger seat.
The car is being driven into the direction of a stone wall (or if you prefer, a cliff, a-la Thelma and Louise).
The Dipper wants the driver to stomp on the gas. The Con wants him to ease off the pedal, and slow down.
None of these dingbats know enough to use the brake!

  21. On a better note the quota will just be enough to replace the Chevy volts and others that are burning up.
