Other than that, I think the state-run, bought-and-paid-for media are just quite simply in shock, and don’t know how to deal with the gaffs.

The media is substituting positive stories about him with criticism of the other, interspersed with conditional critique of fear leader. An example would be what appears to be a critical headline but less than one paragraph in the writer will include a “but Harper” to excuse the gaffe.

Historically the media will always turn on a Liberal when they know they are on the way out, it is just an attempt to cozy up to the incoming paymaster, and they can claim that they really are impartial and say “see we helped you get elected, please keep our funding.”
