Today in Church Bashing

So much journalizing.

Millions meant for residential school survivors spent on Catholic Church lawyers, administration: documents

The Roman Catholic Church spent millions of dollars that were supposed to go to residential school survivors on lawyers, administration, a private fundraising company and unapproved loans, according to documents obtained by CBC News.

The documents include a host of other revelations. They appear to contradict the Catholic Church’s public claims about money paid to survivors.

Wow! They must have a great source to back this all up.

A source directly involved in the case verified their authenticity. CBC News is not naming the source

Meanwhile in nothing to see here land.

  1. Oh goodie, more churches being burned and vandalized.
    I predict…
And Trudeau, who bets he’ll cry this time too?
    Being hypocritical fake outrage.

  2. Open season on Catholics now, actually, on organized religion in general, except of course for you know who. The sociopaths at Calgary Health Services have requested an additional 21 days prison time for Pastor Pawlowski only because he embarrassed the hell out of them. Apparatchiks know they’re dumber than doorknobs…they just don’t like it pointed out.

    1. The sociopaths at Calgary Health Services have requested an additional 21 days prison time for Pastor Pawlowski only because he embarrassed the hell out of them.

The real reason is that he refuses to apologize for giving them the boot from his church and must, therefore, be imprisoned.

      1. Yep, petty vindictive thuggery. Bend the knee or suffer the consequences, they demand submission, nothing else will do.

  3. CBC also had an article about a priest who said ~gasp~ some noble indigenous victims of colonial settler oppression are lying about being sexually abused so they can get more money. The article comes with a trigger arning about the trauma reading this article may cause.

    1. Just hang them and be done with it mainstream media.
That is pretty much what they want to stirring up this pot.
Losing the narrative on the graveyards…

      1. I have an outstanding bet with a friend that now that the “mass graves” narrative has served its purpose, no exhumations will be performed and the “in-depth” GPR surveys won’t be performed either.

“preliminary GPR surveys” are the UFO photos of residential schools.

    1. No kidding! Nothing like a hike up a bubbly stream girded in the vestments of hip waders … wading in the water … wading in the water, children … wading in the water … the Lord’s gonna trouble the water! Off the grid. Fully.

Or if Dog Shows are your thing …

      1. Let me guess: A River Runs Through It is a favourite movie.

        1. I’ve never watched it.

I was fishing last night and came off the river at midnite. Had the place to myself – never saw another person.

The fish were active. Too hot during the day. Coyotes barking, creek gurgling, standing in the water in your Crocs. Who needs a therapist?

          1. I’ve never watched it.

I highly recommend it. It’s a terrific movie, directed by Robert Redford, who also narrates the story. It’s about the relationship between two sons and their clergyman father, all of whom are avid fly fishermen.

If you have access to Turner Classic Movies, it shows up on that channel from time to time.

  4. FAKE News is now … “a thing” … isn’t it? Such as “mass graves”. Gone is all pretense that News is rooted in FACT. Innuendo, and supposition is just fine. Let the headlines do the damage … and the subsequent truth will never get noticed.

I’m a congenital skeptic, so I have always taken news (especially “breathless” news) with a grain of salt. But now, I literally don’t believe ANY of it … unless the article provides unimpeachable sources and data. Nope. I consider ALL News to be FAKE … right out of the box.

    1. I’m pretty sure that this has already been reported awhile ago and now CBC is repackaging it as shocking breaking news.

  5. Now that the CBC has finally developed an interest in how Indian money is spent, maybe they could do an audit and tell us where the billions paid to Indians over the decades were allocated.

    I’m waiting….
    …crickets.

    1. So you have a problem with Bush Indian chiefs making $1 million a year to administer a village? Racist.

  6. I hope you all realize these are NOT natives inflicting arson and acts of vandalism, but emboldened SJWs. You know, overweight (from sitting in mom’s basement, surfing the Internet and eating Hot Pockets all day) WHITE people somehow believing this needs to be done to right a wrong that the natives actually don’t care too much about.

  7. Poor Trudeau, so many things to fix, so little time before the masses forget his cottage performance.
Enter CBC to keep the balls in the air to get polling numbers to majority territory so he can get his arse back in the
driver’s seat with more power. I could say God help us but I don’t think that will work.

  8. Trudeau barking about how the Pope needs to apologize for past abuses sexual or otherwise, with respect to these new found “mass graves”. Pretty rich coming from a guy who had an inappropriate relationship with a female student attending West Point Grey.
Whaddya say we release the little girl from her NDA? Nothing to hide right?
    That’d be fun.

    1. Pretty rich coming from a guy who had an inappropriate relationship with a female student attending West Point Grey.

As I suggested here on SDA several months ago, how do we know that his–ahem–“involvement” was with a female? Are we even sure the person in question was from this country, if you get my drift?

  9. Quite right. Everyone assumes it was a female and from this country. He’s had some “summer camp” issues as well. Bigger brains than me are working on it.

  10. “…residential school survivors …”

Almost like holocaust survivors. And what was the alternative to “residential school surviving”? How about surviving life of a stone age savage?

Catholic church has nothing to apologize for, and if it appropriated some funds, at least those fund were not wasted on the ingrate savages.

  11. It’s a leftist full court press against organized religions. Hate of course being their prime mover. An avalanche of studies suggests your child is more likely to be molested by a public school teacher than a priest (doubt you’ll ever see that on CBC) but hey, who’s got time for facts. The old “they always accuse you of what they themselves are doing” might apply here.
Catholics have taken it on the chin with respect to abuses and it’s deserved. Those within the faith acknowledge there are bad shepherds in the flock and are demanding changes be made and aren’t happy with priests simply being relocated to abuse again, long gone are the days of looking the other way. And that’s a good thing. They want them out…and out for forever. It’s slow going…but I guarantee you, it’s happening.

I can also guarantee you teacher’s unions aren’t doing the same.
