  1. Somehow, I don’t think this is what Alinsky had in mind when he stated that one should make the enemy live up to its own rules:

This is the epitome of what Mark Twain meant when he said that truth is stranger than fiction because fiction has to make sense.

    1. Since he made it clear that sexually he is only interested in women, maybe he can have more fun if summoned to court by asserting that he is facing discrimination because he’s a lesbian.

  2. “The Obama administration gave taxpayer money to an Al Qaeda affiliate in Sudan — with most of the funds transferred after officials became aware of the mistake, a joint i24NEWS-Middle East Forum investigation reveals.”

Thank the God of Israel for Israeli journalists unafraid to break the stories their American colleagues are too preoccupied with Russophobic conspiracy theories to bother covering.

(But naturally Obama is not a crypto-Muslim. Nooooo…)

Interesting argument, something that I was coming to terms with for quite a while. I think I am not the only one who would love to reject identity politics and live in Jordan Peterson’s nirvana. I just don’t think this option exists anymore.

    1. “Most of the people who sing their praises for this teacher agree with her extremely narrow-minded opinions. Aside from not asking too many questions, that’s basically the way a student can hope to earn her approval.”

      Sounds about right.

      1. This is just the window dressing. It seems that no one is curious.
If daddy was a psychiatrist, politically active, specializing in victims of torture, with a practice 4 miles from the shooter…. well…. inquiring minds would want to know…. Why was this person so agitated that she conflates questions of Islamic radicalization with racism, and fascism? This is an intentional distortion and she knows it.
She definitely sees the shooter as a victim. Why? Perhaps the shooter represents a failure she very badly wants to be society’s at large because the truth is much closer to home.

  4. US cuts carbon emissions more than foreign nations that criticize Trump environmental policies.

    http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2018/07/28/us-cuts-carbon-emissions-more-than-foreign-nations-that-criticize-trump-environmental-policies.html

“But it’s the Canadian government that might deserve the award for being the world’s biggest carbon dioxide hypocrite. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was critical of the Trump administration for its decision to leave the Paris Accords, saying in a statement that he was “deeply disappointed” by the “disheartening” decision.

“Canada is unwavering in our commitment to fight climate change and support clean economic growth,” Trudeau said. “Canadians know we need to take decisive and collective action to tackle the many harsh realities of our changing climate.”

So, after those bold words Canada cut its carbon dioxide emissions dramatically, right? Well, not exactly. In 2017 Canada emitted 17 million additional tons of carbon dioxide compared to its emissions in 2016.”

    1. “The death had not been made public at the request of the family.”

Now did they mean his real family or the Librano crime family? Because he had no family that still cared to acknowledge him.

Dump him without ceremony in a shallow grave, and sell tickets to Canadian taxpayers for the privilege of pissing on his grave. The Crown will have its $1.4 million in no time.

  6. “Government regulation is going to put the energy industry into the ground” (Six feet under the ground that is, is the sentiment expressed in this article I believe. Public verbal support, quiet regulative sabotage)

“Additionally, $89 billion of Canadian energy projects have either been cancelled or abandoned, accompanied by $27 billion in divestments.

This collapse in capital investment has taken place under the existing regulatory regime and does not consider the future, cumulative effects on investor confidence by implementing pending legislation such as the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act, the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act and Regulations, and the United Nations Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act.”

    1. My broker suggests that I should add foreign investments to my portfolio. Considering what PM Prince Rainbow Unicorn and his puppet master Buttshead are doing, that might not be a bad idea.

Those two won’t be satisfied until most of Rupert’s Land (by “most”, I mean everything but Lotusland) is reduced to surviving off roots and berries.

  7. Budget Deficits Are Only Getting Bigger Under Trump
    By Michael D. Tanner

    https://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/budget-deficits-are-only-getting-bigger-under-trump

“Yet Donald Trump is on track to be an even bigger spender than Obama. Federal spending has increased by 7.5 percent, or almost $300 billion, over President Trump’s first couple of years in office. Conservatives might applaud the over 8 percent increase in defense spending, although that increase seems unrelated to any strategic plan or external threat. But what should Republicans make of the 7 percent increase in domestic spending?”

    1. I love the hypocrisy. When Obama ran huge deficits in the US it was “necessary” due to the crash in 2009 and he was seen as a compassionate President (by the left). When Harper ran huge deficits during the same time as Obama it was because he was incompetent. Now that Trump is running a (slightly larger) deficit it is because he is a moron. But we (conservatives) did notice that even though Harper balanced the deficit before he left office, Trudeau has run big deficits to grow the economy and he is brilliant (as viewed by the left). Compassionate, incompetent, moron, brilliant. All for the same thing, running a deficit.

    1. One of the lines that Trump through out at the G7 was “we’ll do away with all of our tariffs and subsidies if you agree to do the same”. No one deigned to notice the offer. It’s not that Trump wants no trade. It’s that he wants to do unto others as they are doing unto the US.

Many of the complaints about how Trump is approaching borders and trade make me think about the old cartoon about a (presumably shriveled up) old woman watching a younger woman getting raped and screaming for help turning up her nose and saying “at least you’re getting some, you should stop complaining.”

      1. Do you really think the US will do away with all its subsidies? Not a chance to get that through congress.

        1. I think that that’s the wrong question Joe. More important are the questions of what party or individual will seek to minimize subsidies, and what party or individual is most likely to have a trade policy of “we will treat you like you treat us”. Countries that erect barriers to foreigners trading within their nation should expect those same nations to erect barriers against their trade. That’s my take on what Trump is doing.

Am I right in assuming that we both recognize that NAFTA has nothing to do with actual free trade, but is an agreement on what tariffs are mutually acceptable?

          1. I see I didn’t address your central point – mea culpa. I don’t think it would pass either. But it is the best comeback to sanctimonious “don’t raise tariffs against us!” types – and of all people in power today I think that Trump would be the most likely to try to do away with all tariffs and subsidies because he’s actually worked at the highest levels of business outside of government.

  9. Great column!

    https://business.financialpost.com/opinion/lawrence-solomon-trump-just-unveiled-the-new-trade-world-order-canada-not-included#comments-area

“Trump’s reordering of the globe’s trading regimes will, not coincidentally, harm the economies of America’s foes and benefit those of America’s friends. The sole exception could be Canada, a consequence of the conclusion to the G7 meeting, which saw Prime Minister Justin Trudeau grandstand against Trump to win political points at home. Had Trudeau accepted the offer Trump had then made — by all accounts a generous concession to Canada — tariffs on Canada’s steel and aluminum exports to the U.S. could have been withdrawn and Canada could have concluded a deal that furthered its economy. Instead, the U.S. is focused on concluding a deal with Mexico, whose new president has a good relationship with Trump. Whether or not that deal excludes Canada — a distinct possibility — Canada has been relegated to third-wheel status and now depends on Trump’s graces. Given the offence he took at Trudeau’s grandstanding, Trump may well prefer to wait until the next Canadian election, to offer him the possibility of dealing with a leader more to his liking.”

    Even better comments!

As soon as Trump met Trudeau he read him like a book. A virtue-signaling soy boy who doesn’t have a clue what’s going on in the real world.

As soon as he heard we have a Cimate Change Minister and “mankind” is now “peoplekind” he knew Canada has gone off the deep end.

When Trudeau puts on his costumes to be inclusive, Trump probably rolls over laughing.

Canadian voters are to blame for the punishment coming Canada’s way.

Harper would have been Trump’s biggest ally and confidante. They would have been a dominant duo in world affairs.

Instead, we elect an effeminate soy boy that’s relegated to the kiddie table until needed to serve up drinks or clean the toilet.

Sometimes a society becomes too stupid to survive.

Fact is one North American leader reduced taxes and the other increased taxes. One gives money to terrorists and the other fights terrorists. One gives millions to the Clinton Foundation and the other knows it’s corrupt. One creates independent use of foreign oil and the other promotes the use of foreign oil. One cuts red tape and the other has created more red tape. One has allowed and promotes illegals to enter his country and the other is trying to stop it. One it trying to drain the swamp and the other is the swamp. One has made billions in the private sector and the other got a hand me down inheritance. One got educated as a PT drama teacher and the other was first in his class in economics. One supports Israel the other supports Palestine. Say what you like about either one, I know which one is the better leader by far.”

    1. That initial photo is also offensive to me, but did you see the photo of those great looking chicken sandwiches? Great that Chick-a-fil A is coming to Canada.

        1. The first Chick-fil-a in Canada opened at the Calgary International Airport. The reviews and comments are online with a few photos but there are no prices posted yet.

      1. “That initial photo is also offensive to me”

Toughen up, snowflake. Gayness is only getting more and more publicly accepted.

  10. The offensive thing about the photo is the decision to use it to cover a story about a restaurant opening. Christians have as much right to their beliefs and to live by them as the LGBTQWERTY communisty.
