Thursday, 17:30 CST: Edmonton at Montreal. No, Manziel won’t start against Edmonton. The Als D did pretty good last week, but the offense just wasn’t clicking. I don’t expect that to change, but I do expect a closer game than many may think. Edmonton by 7.
Friday, 18:30 CST: Toronto at Winnipeg. Toronto really underplayed last week against Winnipeg. Neither the D nor O could stop or do anything. Franklin had better start picking it up or he’ll be on the short-list as the next perennial backup QB. Too much has been invested in him and he’s had a lot of time to grow into the job. Winnipeg by 5.
Saturday, 14:00 CST: Ottawa at Hamilton. Now then, the Manziel controversy has been settled. Thankfully. Massoli has to play better than he did against Saskatchewan…fortunately he’s playing a team that he could do that against. Ottawa is having a hard time gelling this year, one week they play like crap, then last week they eek out a win against BC with a solid 2nd half. Hamilton has to rise up if they’re going to beat Ottawa but, they are at home. Hamilton by 3.
Saturday, 19:00 CST: Calgary at Sask. I want to pick Saskatchewan…I really do. Calgary by 15.
Enjoy the games.
I’ll go along with your picks, except maybe Sk/Cal. Probably wishful optimism, but I’m hoping Riders put it ALL together and find a way to neutralize Li Bovine Mitchell, maybe ala Charleston Hughes.
Yes, last week’s Ott/BC game was a little scary, but don’t think it reached the eek level. However the RedBlacks did manage to eke out a win. :>D.
Well I’m a little late but I would’ve picked the Eskimos over the Montreals anyhoo… so… Bombers over Argos… Tiger Cats over the eastern Riders… Sask Roughriders over the Stamps, thats right Roughies over the Stamps, seriously.
You’re a bit hard on Ottawa, who lost only to Calgary this year and doesn’t have to play them again the rest of they year. They’ve outscored the rest of the league 97-60 in the 3 games they’ve won, and only had one bad half in those 3 games.
The only question about the Stamps is what kind of slump they have at the end of the season, and does it extend into the playoffs again.
Chris Jones is a mad alchemist. If this season is anything like the last, he spends the first half of the season getting the alchemy right, then the team gels and look out. If the team really gels 2nd half they could make the Grey Cup game. If not, they’ll end up in the crossover again, and lose to an imposing Ottawa team in the Eastern final.
Chris Jones needs an Apple rammed into his Mouth and a BUs ticket shoved up his Butt.. It was a disgrace to put a QB that can’t see past 3 yards and straying with him when the Rider defense was dominating Calgary…. Fumble.. Fumble… 2 & out…Begone
