  1. Some interesting discussions about what’s going on in North Korea on John Batchelor’s show tonight, ranging from speculation about a possible upcoming ICBM test to who gets to rule the country.

  2. New York’s mayor Bill de Blasio a commie? I think so.
Private property an obstacle to progress.
In an interview with New York magazine’s Chris Smith, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said the biggest obstacle to progress is the idea of private property. He spoke of a “socialistic impulse,” and seemed to favor the idea of turning the Big Apple into Venezuela.

“Houston is sinking – and has been for decades.
As torrential rains have pounded the city in consecutive years, leading to repeated, heavy and deadly flooding, this inconvenient fact contributes to the region’s misery.
Parts of Harris County have dropped between 10 and 12 feet since the 1920s, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey.
State and local officials have made various efforts over the past 40 years to stabilize the ground, but some areas continue to sink – by as much as 2 inches per year.
Spring Branch, where Interstate 10 and Beltway 8 meet, has dropped 4 feet since 1975. Jersey Village, along Route 290 and to the west of Beltway 8, is almost 2 feet lower than it was in 1996. And Greater Greenspoint, where Interstate 45 intersects with Beltway 8, has given up about 2 feet in the last decade alone, according to USGS data.”

  5. The most racist, sexist, homophobic thing you will read today. The usual suspects are outraged although they know it’s true. It’s hate speech and must be censured.
Paying the price for breakdown of the country’s bourgeois culture
That culture laid out the script we all were supposed to follow: Get married before you have children and strive to stay married for their sake. Get the education you need for gainful employment, work hard, and avoid idleness. Go the extra mile for your employer or client. Be a patriot, ready to serve the country. Be neighborly, civic-minded, and charitable. Avoid coarse language in public. Be respectful of authority. Eschew substance abuse and crime.

  6. Report out of Ottawa suggests the rcmp be split in order to meet the staff shortage. They can’t find enough recruits to fill their staffing obligations.
The rcmp is lousy at municipal policing. Maybe they should be wound down instead of split and every province have their own provincial police force. Who needs a force that only answers to the feds? They’re good for photo ops in their reds.

Our beloved PM here in Kelowna yesterday, and the people loved him! I didn’t bother going to the Town Hall meeting at UBC, but I’m sure the PM acquitted himself well.
Some of the tough questions he was asked,”what is your favorite food”?
Answer,” I’m glad you asked me that question,it shows you are an astute and caring person. I have always loved food, and enjoy food from all cultures, all ethnicities. I am as inclusive in my choices of food as the Liberal Party of Canada is inclusive of all people, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Diversity is important on every issue, and I’m glad you asked that important question”.
The applause was thunderous, two standing ovations, over 300 orgasm occurred in the audience, and that was just the men.

  8. Just in from the “holy crap what a hypocrite,” awards, paid by “government dole” division, “you must take us for idiots” category:
“Dear white people, wake up: Canada is racist”
“All of us must do anti-racist and anti-oppressive work.”
If only Indigenous and racialized instructors are teaching about colonialism, systemic racism and white supremacy, the burden remains greater for these marginalized faculty. The same applies to only women, or only LGBTQ instructors teaching about feminism or sexuality, or only people in disability studies teaching about disability. All of us need to be involved.”
Except those whities of course who can’t recognize their racism through their white privilege:
“The white male protester who said he’d never seen a racist has most likely lived with the white privilege of never having to witness or to recognize incidents of racism that people of colour frequently encounter.”
Maybe the “white protester” just hasn’t been to a Donald Trump rally yet. He or she could find out all they want about the systemic fascism of the left.
“He likely would not have confronted the ways that systemic racism pervades all of our lives and is routinized in everyday Canadian life.”
After reading this article, I’m experiencing it right now, and yes it’s very routine and quite recognizable even without reference to the fascist BLM.
“Whether the racism is crude and obvious — or hidden in normal routines like a sly fox — he simply may not have recognized it.”
Thank God we have this professor to help us battle through stereotypes. Would this prof give passing mark to a student writing this dribble?
Yes she would because she obviously agrees with the sentiment and is unaccountable, unlike the student hopefully, due to her professor of colour privilege and anti-systemic racism safe spaces. The left is not bothered at all by their bigotry, mendacity and hypocrisy (GOP KKK anyone?), because nobody calls them on it, even though their radicalist goals, ie removing an elected POTUS, align directly with the fascists at BLM and Antifa.

Over seven years, Australian Institute of Marine Science senior researcher Daniel Michael Alongi lodged 129 claims for fictitious purchases totalling $553,420.
When police caught up with him in 2015, he told them he had spent the money on rare and antique books.”

  11. speaking of things sinking, the ‘Retirement State’ (aka sheister central) directly in line with Irma continues to do so as the enormous ‘one time use’ aquifers are drained of their contents in order to soak those lawns, spruce up the Caddie, fill the pool, etc etc.

  12. timr: I have little respect for authority.
prob starting @ the ripe young age when I got clobbered by the teacher for reading ahead in those ghastly dick & jane endurance tests desperate for sumptin to match my hugely accelerated reading skills, thinking, jeezuz murphy, is THIS what all the excitement’s about????
continuing to today September 2017 when the political and scientific ‘authorities’ are nuking us with nonsense a lot of the time. see maz2’s link for an example. ah well, I suppose he may be an ‘authority’ on rare books . . . .

  13. Pretty sad. I guess a lot of Canadians do not think particularly clearly and are easily lead by superficial political posturing and nice words. Not much to be done, I am afraid.
