Yes, let’s rethink free speech
We have an array of differing views in this country, but I think we can all agree that nobody could be better suited to that oversight role than Jeff Sessions, President Donald Trump, and the thousands upon thousands of state-level Republicans who have been recently swept into office by the infallible will of the people.
I assume that entire article was sarcasm as otherwise it was ridiculous.

If the American patricians keep messing around with the underpinnings of their republic then they won’t keep it. Eventually the double crossing and double speak will lead to their version of a Sulla.

HATE is hate, and SPEECH is speech, Hate is not speech and vice-versa. However, in the drug addled minds of the Marxists run amok in our beautiful country (like the editorial writers of the NYT) … we need to erase free SPEECH to combat HATE.
This idiocy follows my rule of … “The nerf football on the roof”. I learned this rule when my eldest son was in the 2nd grade. He and his friends liked to pass one of their nerf footballs around before school on the playground. All was well, until a well-known 5th grade bully grabbed their football one morning and threw it on the roof of the school. The boys reported this to their teacher, and had the Janitor retrieve their ball. Sure enough … the very next week … the bully threw their football on the roof again. The Janitor retrieved it again. Annnnnd again, for a third time, the bully threw the ball on the roof. Now, the school Principal simply HAD to act! So what do you think the nice woman Principal (who is a proud member of the CTA and NEA Teachers UNIONS) did … ? Punish the Bully for his HATE crime ? Don’t be silly, she was worried his parents would sue for “wrongful” suspension. So … our nice liberal (if not hardcore leftist) Principal BANNED all personal footballs brought from home. Personal Footballs were BANNED as they just caused “too much trouble”
So you see … for leftists … it seems logical to BAN Free Speech instead of dealing with HATE on a case-by-case basis. It is so much easier to eliminate FREEDOMS than it is to deal with HATE. Don’t wait for actual HATE to occur … just prevent a certain group of people from speaking. And make certain you cast the restrictions WIDE enough to include anything and everything right of Nancy Pelosi’s sensibilities. Don’t just ban nerf footballs … but ban ALL sporting goods brought from home.

We in Canada are so superior to our American Cousins.
We have already banned free speech and only have government approved speak.
Naturally ones right not to be “Offended” overrides everyone else’s rights to property,freedom of association ..
Canada’s response to the Magna Carta…we don’t dare have none of that rights and responsibilities stuff.
