  1. There’s nothing that a hundred men on mars could ever do…I miss the rains down in Africa…

  2. I’m told it went up to 38° C this PM here in SW Sask. A ride in that open top convertible would sure feel good tonight.

If you really want to know, that B+W video was an ad for the Dolce and Gabbana line of fashion wear.

  3. Trudeau has nothing to say about the Khadr payout, it’s simply all about rights as dictated in the Charter. Khadr’s rights were violated, not by us, not on our soil but we apologize and pay up.
How have we come to this as a country?

  4. I think someone should ask him about this every time he shows his face in public. Maybe it will reduce the number of silly photo ops.

“Prominent alarmist shockingly defies judge and refuses to surrender data for open court examination.
Only possible outcome: Mann’s humiliation, defeat and likely criminal investigation in the U.S.”

  6. How hot and dry you might ask?
It has been so hot that yesterday I saw a bird use a pot-holder to pick up a worm and so dry the cracks in the ground have the smell of Chinese food coming from them.

  8. Some additional perspective on the Khadr payout: http://www.torontosun.com/2017/07/08/trudeau-keen-to-help-khadr-not-him-afghan-refugee
The Sun has some decent coverage of the issue. Scheer claims he will hold Justin’s feet to the fire (sans sox, I would guess). Given the outrage by the Canadian Taxpayers Association, I do not think this issue will die quietly, and if Conservatives are smart, they will make sure it comes up as an issue in the next election. Personally, I would like to know where the order to pay Khadr came from. The amount of money is outrageous, given the small transgression that happened (presumably the Canadians (under Liberals) visiting Khadr and not looking after his rights.) I am pretty sure there is more than meets the eye here. The apology is additionally galling. Liberals must know that, so who ordered them to do it? Hiding behind the Charter is just an excuse in this case.

  10. And here in SW Sask, it’s so dry, we have fish that are two years old and still haven’t learn how to swim.
    Cheers!!

  11. Perth can be dry. I heard that during Noah’s Biblical flood Perth only received 1/4 inch.

  12. That will not happen, he will repeat the same litany, Daddy’s bloody Charter is what is taking this country down aided and abetted by the Supreme Court of appointed judges. We were fine prior to that, country ran on the rule of law. The timing of this whole affair was no accident, summertime is here, all will cool off by September and they know it. We also should be talking about the fact Khadr’s lawyer called those of us who oppose giving out the millions and apology “Bigots”.

Since I’m opposed to little Omar’s windfall, perhaps I should consider being called a “bigot” a compliment.

  16. The world’s first car to use whisky for fuel has been test-driven in Scotland.
Biobutanol is intended to be a replacement for petrol and diesel and vehicles do not have to be modified to use it.
It is produced using a yeasty by-product from the distilling process, while many biofuels are made using crops grown to be turned into fuel.
A car was driven using the fuel for the first time on Friday at Edinburgh Napier University.
Celtic Renewables president Professor Martin Tangney said: “This is the first time in history that a car has ever been driven with a biofuel produced from whisky production residues.

So a self-driving car is stopped by a self-driving police vehicle, who then places the self-driving car under arrest.
The charge being: driving under the influence of alcohol exceeding .08, and exceeding it by a record amount.

  18. Some speculation here about who will be the next GG.
    http://nationalpost.com/opinion/john-ivison-indigenous-candidates-likely-to-be-overlooked-in-choice-of-next-governor-general/wcm/aab4a600-1595-45d5-afa8-1e46a8ea7d9b
I believe the choice will be announced soon. Several people think it will be Peter Mansbridge, but the only clue was Trudeau mentioning the choice reflecting diversity — so no white males of European origin. The other clue is that it will be someone “spectacular”. Well, we can guess what that is in Liberal land. I expect a female Francophone or an immigrant.

“Oil Investment Fleeing Canada For U.S. Shale”
“There are many things the governments of Canada and Alberta can’t control. The U.S. shale oil sector is among them.”
“However, what they can control is whether they create an environment that supports workers and encourages investment in Canada’s oil industry, or whether they strangle that industry and hurt workers with destructive restrictions.
Clearly, Rachel Notley and Justin Trudeau have chosen the latter.”

  20. I agree. This deal was done for two main reasons: to placate Islamist Liberal allies, some actual terrorists, like papa & baby Khadr, to buy their support.
With hardworking Canadians’ money whom many will be quite miffed $10.5m went to a terrorist, with an apology from the infidels.
More importantly it was done so this would not go to court, possibly over the 2019 federal election campaign. They wanted to keep it out of the election.
Those who are appalled by this insulting and unnecessary secret deal must do all they can to ensure it is an election issue.
Let them obfuscate, let them insult and scream racist. Let them pretend a terrorist can be allowed to run through the raindrops of citizen responsibility, boy soldier, unsubstantiated torture and on the record confessions of murder, along with clear evidence of treason.
Let the US pay if Khadr’s “rights” were breached; then the Speer family can siphon off the award. I also suspect this deal was done for that very reason, to ensure Khadr and his terrorist family got all the dough without jeopardy from successful litigation from the his murderous actions.
He should be tried for treason, not paid off by this cynical Laurentian elites with their seminar room intellect, platitudes and anti-Americanism.

  21. I am sure Trump has heard all about Truedick’s payout to Omar, and if you think for a minute he is pleased with it just watch the shit kicking we get at the NAFTA re-jig.

  22. The Charter of Rights says only that you can apply for a remedy if your rights are violated by the government in some way. It doesn’t say anything about compensation to the tune of $10-million.

  23. It doesn’t say anything about compensation to the tune of $10-million.
It can buy an awful lot of votes from a chosen segment of the electorate.
