  2. By Roberto Ramirez | MEXICO CITY
A tower of human skulls unearthed beneath the heart of Mexico City has raised new questions about the culture of sacrifice in the Aztec Empire after crania of women and children surfaced among the hundreds embedded in the forbidding structure.
Archaeologists have found more than 650 skulls caked in lime and thousands of fragments in the cylindrical edifice near the site of the Templo Mayor, one of the main temples in the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan, which later became Mexico City…
…Raul Barrera, one of the archaeologists working at the site alongside the huge Metropolitan Cathedral built over the Templo Mayor, said the skulls would have been set in the tower after they had stood on public display on the tzompantli.
Roughly six meters in diameter, the tower stood on the corner of the chapel of Huitzilopochtli, Aztec god of the sun, war and human sacrifice. Its base has yet to be unearthed…

  3. Somethin about getting excited over the rockies on the way from his house to downtown.

  4. Oh that’s OK, he didn’t have a teleprompter, he forgot his lines,he’s so charming he’ll be forgiven. Charm is what the majority of Canadians voted for, nice hair and smile with a lisp and nasal twang has bowled over the masses.

  5. Someone mentioned the Saskatoon Star Phoenix on another thread.
Leading up to July 1st a list of ‘150 Saskatchewan people who have made a lasting impact on the country’ was featured. Look at some of the names on this list:
Dorise Nielsen: 1st Communist and 3rd woman elected to parliament.
Zarqa Nawaz: Creator of the CBC sitcom Little Mosque on the Prairie.
Perry Bellegarde: National Chief of Assembly of 1st Nations
    You get the picture…
No mention of Premier Ross Thatcher whose policies helped lay the groundwork for Saskatchewan’s potash industry nor Premier Alan Blakeney who made international headlines when he nationalized the potash industry nor engineering brainiac Jerry Bourgault whose innovative farm equipment is admired around the world. I could list a dozen like that.
On these threads we often wonder how something like Justine Trudeau is possible.
The Star in its genius has inadvertently shown us how and why.

  6. I believe that was me. It is a pretty sad state when when we are asked to celebrate communists, who were responsible for a hundred million deaths in the last century, and a 7th century ideology that would enslave us. Chief Louie from southern BC who wants to bring his people prosperity would be someone to celebrate.

  12. Thank a muslim for the stupid extension of so-called security at the Parliament Canada Day disaster. As Mark Steyn wrote, as happened in Manchester the jihadi just went to the bottleneck of people leaving the show where huge amounts of people stream through to set off his bomb. This is exactly what could have been the scenario in Ottawa. Each and every day muslims cost us billions in make work security.
Years ago I worked at the G20 and the rented security consisted of muslims in hijabs. Isn’t this what the security was supposedly watching for?

  13. Borderline communist is what describes the Star Phoenix. One of my best friends has had 100s of letters to the editor published in Sask and other newspapers, including his own columns. He claims that not one of his conservative columns or letters was ever accepted by the Star Phoenix.
