  1. Courtesy of Blazing Cat Fur, the Guardian turns on the Clown Prince Snowbama:
Stop swooning over Justin Trudeau. The man is a disaster for the planet
Donald Trump is a creep and unpleasant to look at, but at least he’s not a stunning hypocrite when it comes to climate change
    [by Bill McKibben]
“But when it comes to the defining issue of our day, climate change, he’s a brother to the fat old guy in DC.”

  2. I just read the comments in this Huffington Post story on Omar Khadr(who by the way is getting married). There are some people who think certain murder are less equal than others.

  3. Well Lance, sorry to be such a downer … but I excitedly bought primo tickets for the Police REUNION Tour in the summer of 2007 at the Oakland Coliseum. Seems as though the boys all agreed on performing one more time. Well … it was the single WORST concert I ever attended. Ever. Oakland was the 5th or 6th city on their REUNION Tour … but they were still sooooooo rusty that instruments were out of tune, the timing was all wrong, vocals were cringeworthy. It was just awful … every single song. Even Stewart Copeland admitted how HORRIBLE they were:

So … you shoulda heard them in the 80’s. Because THIS concert made it readily apparent that Rockers cannot just show up with no practice, years after their peak … and expect it to all just fall together.
On the other hand … they earned $ 4 million per show … so the REUNION Tour paid for a hefty amount of their paternity expenses.

  4. I saw them in 86, albeit for a short set, and IIRC, their final show. 1986. Giants Stadium. Amnesty Int’l concert.
I’m still miffed at Miles Davis for turning his back to the crowd (as was his custom) during his set. So rude.

  5. Improving health care by reducing immigration? Is that the plan? It”l take a while for that to work. Best not get sick.
Justin spends $650 million so that African women can have access to abortions, while our overcrowded hospitals are at 130 plus percent capacity.

  6. I saw them in Winnipeg in August, 1983 as well. Thompson Twins was their opener.

  7. Thought that was you…
Also saw them in 82 – Police Picnic
The Police, Talking Heads, English Beat, Joan Jett, Flock Of Seagulls, and The Spoons

  8. Spying on Trump:
“Quoting The Guardian: ‘“Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said. The European countries that passed on electronic intelligence – known as ‘sigint’ – included Germany, Estonia and Poland. Australia, a member of the ‘Five Eyes’ spying alliance that also includes the US, UK, Canada and New Zealand, also relayed material, one source said. Another source suggested the Dutch and the French spy agency, the General Directorate for External Security or DGSE, were contributors.”

  9. Today’s country is just pop music with cowboy hats. Notice it’s no longer called country and western. The western part was eliminated 60 years ago by music row in Nashville.
As for wimmins country music. I like to think back to an old buddy who played on the road forever. He’d describe some gal singer and say, “she took the tree outa country.”

  10. ‘Obama Spying’ by Andrew McCarthy:
“This is what systematic abuse of foreign-intelligence collection for domestic political purposes looks like: Intelligence collected on Americans, lawmakers, and figures in the pro-Israel community was fed back to the Obama White House as part of its political operations. The administration got the drop on its opponents by using classified information, which it then used to draw up its own game plan to block and freeze those on the other side. And — with the help of certain journalists whose stories (and thus careers) depend on high-level access — terrorize them.
