1. I guess that staged coup was worth it. Now there is no one to stop him. Democracy is such an impediment to an Islamist, who needs it. The irony is they appear to be voting their way into abandoning it. It sounds positively Hitleresque.

2. You nailed it and well said. Rolling back Ataturk secularism after a century. I think we kind of suspected that this Islamic dictatorship was going to come in and come in by increments after the army was neutralized.

3. If you can’t win an election after purging your opponents and arresting journalists, you suck.

6. A German expert on intelligence services, Erich Schmidt-Eenboom, recently said on German TV that German secret services do agree with Anakara’s claims that the Gülen movement was responsible for the July 2016 coup.
   In fact, Eenboom says German secret services believe it was Erdogan himself who orchestrated it.
   No surprises there for any layperson who has been watching events in Turkey with Erdogan for the last few years.
