  1. Eureka is a small research base on Fosheim Peninsula, Ellesmere Island, Qikiqtaaluk Region, in the Canadian territory of Nunavut. One of the coldest places in Canada. January being the longest, darkest and the coldest month. This is a summary of the average minimum January readings since 1950 in 10 yr. increments. The station was established in 1947. Is global warming a new phenomena?? I don’t think so!

  2. I mean what could possibly go wrong?
    ——————————————-
Why has Sweden got more boys than girls?- BBC
“There is something odd going on with the ratio between boys and girls in Sweden. The latest estimates suggest there are 123 boys for every 100 girls among 16 and 17-year-olds. That’s an even greater imbalance than in the same age group in China.
The natural “sex ratio at birth” is 105 boys for every 100 girls, according to the World Health Organization – and official statistics show that in 2014, there were 108 boys for every 100 girls among Sweden’s 16 and 17-year-olds.
But the country now has 123 boys for every 100 girls in this age group, according to Valerie Hudson of Texas A&M University.
If this is correct, it will be quite something. China’s one child policy and a preference for sons led some couples to opt for sexually selective abortions, contributing to a sex ratio there of 117 boys for every 100 girls aged 16 and 17.
Hudson’s estimate for Sweden was calculated by adding asylum applicants in 2015 to the current population figures – and she is provisionally assuming that all applicants will be granted residency permits. The number of those who actually receive asylum will not appear in official population statistic. …

  3. Submerging an AK 47 gun and firing it underwater appears to make it work better, according to high speed footage. … The gun appears to fire better under water, because, … the chamber reloads faster because H2O can not be compressed.
… although the gun’s mechanisms operate more efficiently underwater, the speed at which the bullets are released is slower. … the gun still works perfectly after the experiment.
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2348158/How-firing-AK47-underwater-actually-make-work-BETTER.html
This is likely the case with most gas-operated semi-auto battle rifles.

  4. Question:
Does this mean, since the enviroMENTALists thought that the Northern Gateway Pipe Line was stopped, that the enviroMENTALists won with First Nations over to their thinking?
According to article below, now the First Nations see the need for it to go through … including shipping the oil out of Canada.
    http://energeticcity.ca/article/cat-lng/2016/01/28/aboriginal-equity-partners-express-support-for-northern-gateway
Now we will see the pure hatred of the LIEberal Party, under Just-in, against the Western Provinces … Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC’s oil. EnviroMENTALists leave the region and suddenly the First Nations see the value … and safety … of the pipeline. This was a major stumbling block against the Northern Gateway Pipe Line. Now the enviroMENTALists will be out in full force against this project .. they can never admit defeat.
(Sarcasm on) I suggest that when Northern Gateway Pipe Line gets approved, that priority be given to unemployed Western Canadians first, then the rest of Canada except for Quebec … they are truly showing their hatred towards Western oil presently. Make sure Quebec does get not one dime of money from project … let them pollute their own rivers, just like Vancouver pumping all its raw sewage directly into the ocean untreated … where were/are the enviroMENTALists against such practices? (Sarcasm off)

  8. Should read the following, too early this morning for spelling… coffee… Gah.

I always thought that Coderre’s public stance was odd as he always struck me as someone who paid only the minimum level of respect for environmental affairs but he’s always been in my opinion a political animal. This article rings true for me and helped fill in some missing pieces for someone who isn’t feeding off old school media.

  9. Maurice Strong.
CPAC this morning, every do-gooder and professional parasite in Canada and beyond.
Gathering to praise the work of Maurice the “Environmentalist”.
For sure they will be agitating for a Peace Prize or Order of Canada for his corpse.
Strikes me that between the Media Guild of Canada and the people present to praise Maurice and his dishonesty, we have the majority of Canada’s enemies self identified.
If the Ends Justify the Means, should we taxpayers not use the “Precautionary Principle” to deal with these types?

  10. The judge in the case of the incapable engineer who couldn’t pass rudimentary exams being credentialed by the human rights commission applied simple basic evidence. 55 % of new Alberta engineers are foreign trained engineers who were able to pass the exams – hardly discrimination against foreigners. Apparently domestically trained engineers are as rare as domestically trained doctors.

“The truth must be told! All European life died in Auschwitz
    By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez*
I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz.
We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, and talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.”

  12. regulations and the enforcement of them.
watching the flic Southpaw (Jake Gyllenhall), the scene where a boxing official watches his hands getting wrapped so no cheating. and the ‘sign off’ right on the wrap. ok, ya after 100+ years of the sport they got that right. so howcum maybe a boxer gets caught with brass knuckles under the wrap?
    – east German women’s swim team hopped up on steroids
    – Lance Armstrong
    – baseball records falling from steroid users
    – Olympic weight lifting steroid scandal
Juan Antonio Samaranch and the millions in bribes
    – Olympic ice skating judging scandal
    – etc etc, at the behest of the rule enforcers and for themselves the rule makers
so it appears those assigned to enforcing regulations see themselves as exempt. what of politicians who MAKE the rules? Hellary Clinton. the emails. the bullshyt called she decides which rules she complies with and her entourage makes it so. she wants to be president, and goes about exempting herself from the rules that she makes to do it.
kinda like the nazis. kinda like communists. kinda like every coookie cutter despot demagogue. where are our stalwarts above all this, issuing the subpeonas, the writs, the warrants whatever? cowering in fear if Hellary comes out on top she will turn her vindictiveness against them. and so she will. ALL politicians do that. they get in power and immediate ‘clean house’. despots don’t obey the ‘rules of conduct’. they always exempt and exclude themselves. why is clinton allowed to continue with the emails dogging her? because in the USA celebrity exempts you. power exempts you. the mode of thinking is to join the bandwagon of the most ruthless in order to share the windfall and benefits. because that’s how the world works.
if Clinton takes the role of POTUS the future of the world is a stake. there will be a 10-fold increase in illegal surveillance and the rest will be made legal. J Edgar Hoover showed how it’s done. he was untouchable because he had no scruples and opened a dossier on the dog catcher and every new member of the PTA, to maintain tabs on everyone thus including the ones who got up to his level. everything that’s wrong with American ‘justice’, foreign policy, domestic policy, is embodied in Clinton.

  13. Good thing the Red Star doesn’t allow comments anymore, there’s no reason to give them a page hit, for any reason, any more, at any time.
The Red Star is the centre of leftwing nuttiness in Canada, its been hilarious to watch that pathetic propaganda arm spend money on commercials, to “download their app”
    Its a virus

  14. Officer and suspect draw on each other.
If you had any doubts about police wearing body cameras, watch this.
    Applebee’s in, Palestine, Texas
It takes place in a restaurant where the male officer wearing the
camera approaches a theft suspect in the restroom of the restaurant
and asks him to step outside. The male officer leads the suspect
outside while a female officer escorts the suspect from behind. Once
outside, the suspect pulls a gun and the male officer does what he is
    trained to do.
