  7. If that is their level of organization no wonder they have trouble fending off the Russians.
    The idea of Parliamentary style democracy and protocol takes years, decades, centuries, to fully adopt.
    Of course, we could send them our Parliament’s Sgt.-at-Arms for a week and that might straighten them out. 🙂

Matthew, the Fraser Institute rebuttal of the Broadbent Institute, which your link has included, is a must read and displays the intellectual dishonesty of the left that has persisted for decades, that we have a class based economic system where people are “stuck in their caste.” As the Fraser report points out 90% of low income people don’t stay at that level of income.
    Equating level of income with class is the left’s most fallacious activity. When they’re shown to be wrong they ignore rebuttal and continue the meme; for instance, when using Stats Canada Low Income Cut-off as a measure of the “poverty level,” which Stats Canada has repeatedly stated it is not. It’s a measure of relative income inequality and if used to measure the poverty line that means no matter how rich everyone in society becomes, if we were all given $1 million, there would still be a “lower class” because there will always be inequality of income, because people are different with different circumstances and effort, plain and simple. The left prefers the easy way out and tries to arbitrarily assign income to society. That is totalitarianism and would require huge coercive efforts, but never mind that, we’re told.
    How nice to be able to make a bogus poverty stat to ensure more and more funding to fight poverty. The truth is all income levels are relatively better off. Margaret Thatcher made that point to an opposition member in her parliament, going on to uncover the poverty agenda and the lengths it will go to in order to “redistribute income:”
    “He would rather the poor were poorer, provided the rich were less rich, that is Liberal policy.”

    Exactly. I’m sure that you also know why. This meme fits their method of operation to foment unrest among the lower income groups to gain support for their parties and for utopian Marxism and if possible a revolution.

  20. Over!! Why?? We still have 10 days left of the original 12 days of Christmas.
    For a lot of us, Christmas begins Christmas Eve and goes to 12th Night. Our trees go up just before Christmas and don’t come down until Jan 7. And there is gift-giving Jan 6.

    Agreed Ken, and as you know there are other examples of political thought emanating from utopian Marxism, the ultimate being, of course, global warming, I mean the battle against climate change. Tax and control something which costs zero to mine or store or transport, create a market for nothing, claiming you’re just trying to change behaviour, which you’re not, and using the money for viable energy research, which they’re not.
    They get your money and the power over you, to make you a good little comrade. I predict it will fail, as it already has in Germany and Australia, when Canadians, not just Torontonians, get to decide on our federal leadership next year.
