Canadian “progressives” ode to “Dear Leader”, perhaps they can invite the KPA State Merited Choir to join in on a sing-along. Loons.
BTW, there already is an Ebola Czar but she got caught in a work-related financial scandal à la Solyndra ironically enough:

This Obama administration reminds me of the old Soviet Union where “political reliability” trumped actual experience and competency for would be job applicants.
Good song, catchy beat, I can dance to that.

Bloody awful, in my opinion.
Christianity now comes under the heading of torture in California.
http://www.theprovince.com/news/Atheist+wins+from+Californian+government+after+forced+into/10295384/story.html
peterj:
I checked this story out on other news sites that claim that the guy was forced into the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. (12 step program.)
Normally AA doesn’t like to have their members disclose their AA membership at the level of press, radio, TV etc., although they have no legal right to prevent it. AA simply suggests that it’s members look for a “Higher Power” AKA a God of their choice. That however is not a requirement for membership. The only requirement for AA is a desire to stop drinking.
In the California case, the guy was ordered by the court to go into a treatment program that used the 12 step program as a guide.
Given the choice, would you attend a program that suggests that you trust in a Higher Power or would you rot in a musty jail cell?? I’m anxious to see what happens to our atheist addict when he gets a hold of 1.5 million US$ Every pusher in California has his name and number by now.
Rev. John Hagee gives a outstanding performance for the thisty soul!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiJ_MsLphYw
Don’t assume Christianity. Sounds like he was asked to join AA which asks participants to acknowledge a higher power but does not specify who or what that is. As an atheist he could have assumed the higher power was his own brain. Problem solved.
Some days California deserves what it gets.

Toronto Star, Wed., Oct. 15. More befuddled hand-wringing nonsense from Carol Goar.
http://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2014/10/14/how_to_fix_a_broken_labour_market_goar.html
CG: “We invest billions in post-secondary training. But employers won’t hire graduates, claiming they don’t have the right skills.”
Then maybe we should stop investing those obviously misdirected billions, and let employers and prospective employees sort it out between them, based on their own needs?
CG: “Businesses don’t train incoming employees. Policy-makers have systematically eliminated our bridge builders: local training boards, industry sector councils, unions, publicly-funded employment agencies.”
I wish it were true. Most government-subsidized bodies do very little for far too much money. Employers should be doing the training, but government programs get in the way, and are notorious for being years behind the times. Let employment agencies sink or swim on their own merits and stop the government funding.
CG: “Tom Zizys, a fellow at the Metcalf Foundation … has just released … a 76-page report [on the issue].”
“Predictably, he concludes there are no quick fixes or easy answers … ‘We can keep muddling through or we can use our public policy levers to encourage good practices.'”
Those so-called “public policy levers”, i. e. government coercion, are part of the problem, not the solution. There is a relatively easy answer: get government out of the way.
CG: “Turning back the clock to an era when people got jobs, kept them and climbed the career ladder is not an option, Zizys says. That model has been shattered by globalization, technological change, corporate downsizing and outsourcing.”
Those things are all normal in a (relatively) capitalist economy. The real wreckers of the economy are taxes, regulation, and political interference. We can go back to the “old days” where jobs were much steadier. But we need a free economy that is led by consumer desires, not government meddling.
CG: “The challenge, Zizys says, is to create labour market that fits the current landscape. That will require a new network of relationships that allow business, workers, governments, educators and community leaders to identify the gaps and broken connections in the labour market and negotiate solutions that work for everyone. It will also require a re-thinking of our profits-trump-all attitude and an overhaul of our employment programs and agencies.”
That reads like: the economy should get a full dose of the poison that’s killing it. Good grief.
Those “gaps and broken connections” are usually solved by supply and demand, i. e., higher wages. A free economy will sort it out without all the government hangers-on and the enormous waste they generate.
As the Ebola crisis surges to the top issue on the minds of Americans, a new poll finds that 82 percent of those following the issue closely want to quarantine anybody who has recently traveled to the virus-stricken nations.
The Economist/YouGov poll found that women are more concerned than men and would refuse entry to anybody from those nations.

Globe and Mail, Thurs., Oct. 16. Letter to the editor (the first on the page) from one Arie Eitan Grinspun. Out of the mouth of babes, as it were.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/letters/oct-16-child-care-as-an-agent-of-social-change-and-other-letters-to-the-editor/article21116707/?cmpid=rss1
“Every child should have a place in a diverse, inclusive child-care environment. A national child-care system should be more than just extended benefits, it should be the base for social change.”
Really? Will parents still have the option of raising their own kids? Or will the state grab the kids to make sure they’re well-versed with this unspecified “social change”?
Did this early childhood education student unwittingly let the cat out of the bag? It appears the purpose of universal chlid care is not to help parents, it’s to indoctrinate children.
The UN says the ebola outbreak must be controlled within 60 days or else the world faces an “unprecedented” situation for which there is no plan.

Hollande in France now as Mitterand a couple of decades ago. Bob Rae in Ontario. Rene Levesque’s 25% wage cut on public workers in the ’80s. Jean Chretien’s 1995 budget.
And: “It will be interesting to see when and how Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne breaks her commitment to more government spending; history suggests two years, after a downgrade of Ontario’s debt.”
Cross concludes with the line, “Fiscal reality trumps utopian ideology every time.” Perhaps more correctly: Reality trumps false ideology every time. Or, as Ayn Rand was fond of saying, “Reality always avenges itself.”
To me this is odd. Your results may vary.
“though she skips a beat when she hears that Trudeau’s been tossing the baby. She’s fine with the standing-kid stunt, she says, but she hadn’t heard about what he did for an encore: Lowering Hadrien to waist height, he’d flipped the infant on his side and spun him in the air, fast. The baby, gobsmacked, rolled like a crazily time-lapsed rotisserie chicken, executing a flawless 360 in mid-air.”

OK, does Chatelaine have this on film ?
Where are the photos ?
It is strange.
I have never done it, nor even thought of doing it. Or know anyone who has tried.
And next question, did JT do this on the first take?
Is he that good? We know that he beat up Brazeau, but flipping babies!
How many mishaps happen before you feel confident enough to do it in front of a camera?
JT may be f’ed in the head worse than any of us could imagine, or he is really, really good, like Michael Jackson good.

OCEAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) – Authorities say a Monmouth County man illegally trapped and ate raccoons and squirrels.

Justin Trudeau’s autobiography…what crass. Who the hell cares when he went from poopy pants to short pants to long pants to empty suit in politics?
What’s to tell of any interest that’s beyond fluff and stuff of no substance for the job the LPC and Media Party Consortium are forcing on the people of this country? He has never HAD to work, he never had to balance a household budget, thinks federal budgets balance themselves. Most people know all they need to know about this forty something child of privilege who has the gall to assume he has what it takes to lead this country as PM. It’s obvious he isn’t fit or ready, he’s running on his name which works for some foolish, blocked off Liberals who would put party power over their country.
Leading the country is not about balancing babies on the palm of one hand, it’s not a circus act, it’s not play acting, it’s serious business and it’s very serious business domestically and in foreign affairs. With this silly boy we would be putting our country in great jeopardy, he is not capable of governing, we would be governed by a faceless cabal making decisions he’s not capable of. Some of his advisers, one being Andrew Leslie, should scare the hell out of anyone who has a clue, is clued in to what’s happening in the ME.
Waiting for reality to set in among Ontario voters, as the Wynnemills turn we are going deeper in debt. Folks are paying higher and higher rates for energy and everything we need to survive in this cold North is getting beyond what many can afford.
We have choices, pay the utility bills or buy food or head to the food bank lines…this is the legacy left by McGuinty and taken up by Wynne who was given free rein with a majority government by the dumbest electorate in Canadian history.
Let the spending, the scandals continue, who cares, they’re Liberals, it’s expected and accepted.
Does “MARS” ring a bell with anyone….no,it’s not a chocolate bar?
When all the punditry never misses an opportunity to remind conservatives that attack ads are bad.
When the media colludes to stop those ads from airing.
When the content of said ads are claimed to be stolen intellectual property.

Push down until the beast cries surrender.

But … but … he hasn’t done anything!
Exactly!
My post on Trudeau fils;
The reality is a situation where the present Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada/Ontario is sitting in front of a Putin; “please oh! please do not fly anymore aeroplanes within Canada’s air space or I will have to say fuddle-duddle, what ever that means but my father said it so it has to be good;” OR will be sitting in front of the ISIL Caliphate; Please oh! please do not decapitate any Canadians, especially those in Quebec even if they are not really Canadians”.
Both of these conversations to be taken with ankles tightly crossed and hands clenched in front of his vulnerability. Cheers;
But … He hasn’t done anything!

I was critical of JT in an above comment because of his parenting skills.
Apparently flipping your baby around like a rag doll benefits the child. Others, like medical doctors, say it is reckless endangerment and could lead to serious injury and death.
” And while many of the babies were reportedly left screaming in tears or vomited during or after their session of ‘baby dynamics’, Fokina insists it is for their benefit. ”
” Baby dynamics is quite well known Russia but up to now all the literature about it has only been in Russian.”
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/watch-footage-of-baby-yoga-teacher-744941
The video is disturbing.
The woman ‘Lena Fokina’ also does the trick with holding the standing baby in one hand.
This is likely what the Trudeaus do with their children.
Sophie was a new age yoga instructor, he was raised by a man who idolized Russia.
Then again, I could be wrong. Maybe a media type person will ask them about it.
global wealth report:
• The average person is worth $56,000.
• If you have $3,650, including the value of your home, you’re among the wealthiest half of people in the world. (This is net wealth – so, once debts have been subtracted.) The other half own less than 1pc of global wealth, while 77pc of adults – that’s 3.3bn people – have less than $10,000.
• The top 10pc of people – membership requirement is $77,000 – hold 87pc of the world’s wealth.
• You need $798,000 to make it into the top percentile of the world’s wealthiest. This select group accounts for almost half – 48.2pc – of global assets.

That’s pretty shocking that they would call it a “legacy” at this stage. I think the media is oblivious to its own penchant for creating artificial narratives. It reminds me of Peter Mansbridge when Martin was being sworn in referring to “the Martin era” beginning. I thought how the heck does he figure we will have a Martin “era” — guess that did not work out as planned. The media is so wedded to the notion of the Liberal Party as a dynasty. They will be sorely disappointed if the Liberals miss the mark yet again. Fortunately, most of us do not live in that same fantasy world.
