Reader Tips

Inside of each of the planes you’re about to see, you just know there are passengers thinking “I realized just now: This has to be the last flight I ever take. I’m committing right now to stop flying. It’s just not worth the…juh-juh-juh..
Jeepers, I almost forgot: The comments are open for your Reader Tips.

  1. That does it! Never again – it’s Greyhound from here on in. Who the hell wants to go overseas anyway?

  2. A juxtaposition?
The mayor of Boston and governor of Massachusetts shill for donations for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing:

Is it because that state and city are too broke to donate the medical care and rehab?
Yet neither the mayor or governor seems to have made and effort to cut off the welfare to speedbump and flashbang – or their whole out-of-country family:

  3. Actually one of these can be deleted as I was getting a held for moderation screen. Not sure why though.

  4. Most of those ‘landings’ are to demonstrate cross-wind (i.e. wind not straight down the runway) capability for certification purposes. Dangerous looking, but quite well handled.

  5. Ken, We’ve been getting hammered with Chinese spam bots. Most of them aren’t making it through the spam filter, but many had. I tightened up the spam rules a bit. A result is that more ham is getting caught.
I’ve instituted a blocking policy as well and that is helping. Things should calm down a bit in the next week or so as posters get +’s on their posts if they have previous comments outside of 7 days.

  6. If you’re a passenger on a full aircraft your ‘MPG’ can be about the same as one person in a car. However, the person in the car is much more likely to be injured or killed. Air fatalities are infrequent, but what makes them so newsworthy is the number killed at one time.

Glaciers In Swiss Alps Gaining In Mass!”
“The German national weather service (Deutsche Wetterdienst – DWD) writes in its latest press release on how 2013 is shaping up climate-wise in Germany. No warming anywhere!
In fact, the recent trend looks like a strong cooling.”

““Dangerous manmade global warming” has become the most systematic, massive, costly fraud ever perpetrated. This is a harsh judgment, but the mounting evidence is undeniable.”

“Then she got it, like a light coming on in her head.”
Which beggs the question: Who is that tall broke?

“Then she got it, like a light coming on in her head. The pension trustees were draining the pension because they were so sure, so absolutely certain that the taxpayers would have to refill the pot they felt safe helping themselves to whatever they wanted. She wrote:
they were thinking the pensions would have to be paid, one way or another. After all, it’s in the Michigan State Constitution. So they could pay out bonuses, please various constituencies, and then force the city or the state to make them whole when it all came tumbling down.
What could go wrong? To everyone’s amazement something completely unprecedented happened: City Hall went broke.”
