Please ensure that there are no hard or sharp objects underneath your chin. This is absolutely necessary prior to watching this video segment from a recent Jon Stewart show. Have you ever seen thicker hypocrisy than that exhibited by these protesters? h/t ES
These “protesters” really represent the scrapings from the bottom of the gene pool. They are morons looking for someone else to continue to pay for their existence now that their parents no longer do. Time for them to either grow up and accept personal responsibility or do us all a favour and do a Jim Jones.
Michael Moore should be spending some of his evil capitalist money on some renta-poties for his people.
Now he wants them to march on their local banks in whatever small town USA they happen to be squatting in. Talk about not understanding the issues or what?
How come Michael Moore isn’t demanding all of these poor disaffected white youth march on Obamba’s Whitehouse? After all he is the one who actually has authority to launch investigations into Wall Street corruption, and give them “change they can believe in”.
Where were these angst filled individuals when Dubya was in power? I thought these types considered that era as the zenith of corruption and all other kinds of horrible stuff, now they got their guy in the White House. And he just isn’t singing them to sleep.
wtf? Gave up trying to watch it. Got nothing but ads over and over.
The Daily Show thinks these people are jerks.
So to whom is this a surprise? It’s odd that The Daily Show turned on the unwashed masses this fast, but for over 50 years the “counter-culture” has favoured alternative hygiene standards. And since everything they want should be “free”, there’s no problem with using/abusing the property of others or expecting others to clean up after them.
As Jonathan Swift said, “It is futile to attempt to reason someone out of a position they were never reasoned into in the first place.” I think that provides a good indication of the amount of energy one could reasonably invest in attempting to get that collection of morons to realize just how ridiculous they are.
ChrisinMB, I agree. I got sick of the SGEU ads against Premier Wall. Not all bad though as it reminded me that the sooner a lot of privatization does actually take place, the better.
These ruffians “occupying” parts of US cities are of the same mental disposition as those who took over the reigns of government at all levels in Russia in 1917 and are nothing but the dregs of society. There are some who are directing and leading this from behind the scenes and most of us have some idea of who they are.
seen on the web:
Thirty years ago, we had Steve Jobs, Johnny Cash and Bob Hope. Now we have no jobs, no cash and no hope.

An important addition to the lexicon: Durantyism
‘I begin with a definition of “Durantyism,” a neologism which embodies a concept. It refers to reportage about the Soviet Union (and about other socialist dictatorships right up to and including the Sandinista Nicaragua) in which the journalist lied deliberately or was taken in by Soviet disinformation, or else became a victim of a built-in censorship.[5]
‘This lying was made legitimate because it was done on behalf of a supposedly higher truth.’
Arnold Beichman
On the other hand … New York City deserves those people.
Rizwan, exactly and to think Duranty won a Pulitzer for the lies.
1870’s Germany is a good place to start to understand how the modern entitlement culture came into being. Welfare, socialized medicine resulting in assembly line medicine. Worker’s compensation schemes, resulting in more malingering, especially around holidays.
The answer to all the problems has always been the same, more money, and more bureaucracy, more regulation. More one size fits all. A reduction of people from individuals to an expense item. Workers for the state, rather than for themselves.
The result being, the socialization, and regimentation, became one of the cogs in the wheel of National Socialism. People were accustomed to the state running their lives and easily fell into the Nazi schemes. History is repeating itself…
People on the left have consistently denied or downplayed Communist barbarism.
OTOH, those on the right have consistently underestimated Soviet savagery.
Joe McCarthy underestimated Communist infiltration of the US Government. Even ronowned Sovietologist Robert Conquest underestimated the extent of Soviet mass murders.
fiddle:
If you had read The Road to Serfdom by Hayek, this is exactly the point he was making.
The National Socialists were tired of the socialists who were in power at the time, so they replaced members of one aggrieved class who had power with another aggrieved class, who had been victims of the original aggrieved class.
See how it never ends?
Michael Moore,Susan Sarandon,Roseanne Barr, all lightweights.I will not take these protesters seriously until Charlie Sheen makes an appearance.
See how it never ends?
Nothing new under the sun, there are many variations on the same theme. Socialism is a very old system which has as it’s purpose, control over people. The Code of Hammurabi includes socialist systems. The Code, when compared to the Laws of Moses, falls very short http://www.angelfire.com/nv/TheOliveBranch/append15.html
Can the clip be found on youtube? I am stuck with internet access via a mobile for the next two months, and it’s the only way I can view video. I wouldn’t be a bother about it, except that this one seems worth seeing.
Rosiland, the Comedy Channel doesn’t allow any of its programs onto YouTube.
Thanks Robert W. I’ll bookmark the link for when I can get to a real computer.
Before there was Nazism, socialism, or totaliaran governemnts, they used to call it the feudal system.
If they ever get the chance, they’ll want a total rewrite of Magna Carta exactly the way Prince John wanted it, with movable goal posts.
Monarchies have always been the least damaging to the people, republics, the most. Is this what Jon Stewart and company consider good news gathering?
excrement entitlement , what next?
I pass this along not as advocacy, but for those who are poking around to understand the themes and memes embedded in this.

Warning, it is sympathetic to the movement so be careful how you read it.
But it is a left wing movement, and subject to left wing manipulation because it ultimatley plays on “feelings”. You cant ignore the human condition but playing to it leads to bad consequences.
There was another piece over the weekend that perhaps you can help me find. apparently there was a book published in 99 or 2000 that was the philosophical root of this movement. I cant find it. Same wooly headed themes, same disasterous prescriptions, where they are suggested. Most if it is an unthinking call for change, promising a better redistribution or lack of “exploitation”. The fundamental fallacy is that people in America are born into bondage, a total abandonment of what they were founded on. That of course is different from being unable to change your circumstances, the ability to change, re start, re-invent etc is another American concept that I have great sympathy for…to the extent that past decisions are locking people up, or into cicumstances is a bad thing.
Anyway, understanding the other side is one of the important elements to defending yourself.
Read at your own risk 😉
” BUT I HAVE NO MONEY”. wtf!
A real man would have been embarassed to be filmed saying that.
Young and strong he should have had AT LEAST $50 bucks on him. What a loser.
So you guys deny the fact that the wealthy 1% have seen their fortunes swell while the middle class has stagnated and the ranks of the poor have grown?
How convenient to simply paint these protesters as entitled rich kids.
I gots a secret for you… you guys are in the same boat as everyone else, and the very wealthy won’t so much as condescend to kick you in your sorry mouths for being such good dogs. They’ll just see you stuck in the same crazy form of neo-feudalism as the rest of us, while they cement the privilege forever. Or at least until people get sick of it, and some stupid, pointlessly destructive revolution, that could have been avoided takes place to reclaim our fair share.
But there is hope. You don’t have to be ignorant all your lives. Through the magic of the internet, you can actually read things called “statistics” that show you how wealth is divided in our society, and worse, how it’s not what you think it is:

The issue isn’t about who has and who doesn’t have money. I doubt anyone disagrees with the fact that there is corruption on Wall Street and within the US & global monetary systems.
The point is – they are going after the wrong people. They should be going after the White House where with the signing of a document a whole series of investigations into corruption can begin within the government and the banking system including Wall Street.
These people are pretending to do what the Tea Party has already begun, save for the fact that they will not go after the head culprit sitting in the Whitehouse because they put him in charge there. Change the government to one that is for the people and you control your countries assets especially where fair taxes are allocated.
These people are delusional in thinking they can bang bongos and cymbals on Wall Street or even local town bank branches, as Michael Moore called for, and think they will put some undeserving rich guy’s money directly into their pockets. They should be after Michael Moore if that were the case.
They are too stupid to know that Obamba is the source of their frustration, yet still refuse to believe their lying eyes.
John,
Is this just about campaign finanace reform. If so then keep it south of the border, not requried here.
If its about the 1%, which 1% is it? The top 1% of people controlling assets (wealth) or is it the top 1% of income. uess wha they are really different things.
Or is it really the .1% or .01% you want to go after. (once again wealth or income)
are there specific things people are looking for? Any specific proposals?
Care to name them?
Campaign finance reform would find many people agreeing. But what are you trying to fix? And how are you trying to fix it? Or is this just about defining some group as “the others” so they can be demonized
