[T]hree British government institutions are embroiled in a new global warming scandal with the BBC mounting a legal challenge to force ministers to admit the truth. Sceptics ask: Is the UK government’s climate propaganda machine finally falling apart?
Last week the weather service caused a sensation by making the startling claim that it was gagged by government ministers from issuing a cold winter forecast. Instead, a milder than average prediction was made that has been resoundingly ridiculed in one of the worst winters in a century.
With the BBC appearing to take the side of the Met Office by seeking to force the government to give honest answers, untold harm will likely befall Prime Minister Cameron’s global warming policies on energy, taxation and the environment.

  1. The British government needs taxes,desperately,and will somehow figure out a way to keep the sheeple babboozled.
    Maybe the government should mention that if every British citizen would wear a full burkha/hijab/niquab made of good Scottish wool, they wouldn’t feel the results of the temporary cold weather phenomenon so much.
    There’ll be hot days later this year,and they can restart the rhetoric as the cold fades from the public mind like last year’s football scores.

    They violate the 1st Amendment by placing protesters in cages, banning books like “America Deceived II” and censoring the internet.
    They violate the 2nd Amendment by confiscating guns.
    They violate the 4th and 5th Amendment by molesting airline passengers.
    They violate the entire Constitution by starting undeclared wars for foreign countries.
    Impeach Obama and sweep out the Congress, except Ron Paul.

  13. Dead on Fred; remember those 15 mouse mousetraps? What we have here is a multi rat, rat-trap, in those old traps you were supposed to fill a little trough with food, and when you had a bunch you would poison them. Most of us set the thing and forgot about it, it would fill up and the rats and mice would eat all the feed,(taxpayers money) then turn on each other like so many theives, eating each other until the last mouse/rat (Gore/Suzuki) starved to death. Starve these theives of our money, for our childrens sake. Think of the children David, is that not your line. Well we do, and we want you and your band of theives out of our pockets now, tell your MP, MLA now!

    So nobody ever thought that by pumping CO2 deep down into the ground that it would never find it’s way back out again?? Really??

The carbon dioxide project at Weyburn Sask was to enhance oil recovery from the oil field south of Weyburn and NOT about carbon sequestering.They are using CO2 from a coal fired electrical generating plant that was mandated to lower their CO2 emmissions.Its working also as they will get many more years of production by this method.

  21. Spike1, very good point sir. It turns out that liquid CO2 at high temperature and pressure (“high” being warmer than cryogenic) is a really amazing solvent. It can suck the oil out of a rock formation -far- more efficiently than water or steam.
    Actually, it would be very interesting indeed to see what hot liquid CO2 could get out of tar sand in a pressure vessel. I bet you it would work a lot better than what they do now.

This story sounds far-fetched to me, the Cameron government had just come into power and I would imagine if there was any pressure on the Met Office not to release said forecast, it would have come from the AGW lobby within the top levels of bureaucracy both in the Met Office itself and in the government, but blaming the newly elected MPs seems dubious to me.
    Also, as I’m active in UK weather forums and make forecasts on them regularly, I can tell you that the UK media had massive coverage of non-government forecasts of a cold winter all of which have tended to verify by concentrating on December. The weather is currently turning much milder and while February could be significantly cold as well, January is likely to end up near normal now.
    I think what’s more likely to be true about the Met Office is that they just weren’t sure of the trend until maybe mid-November when it was becoming obvious from the more reliable global models that a cold spell was brewing. In any case, I would not believe anything I heard from either side in this dispute, neither the Met office nor the UK government have a very credible position on matters of climate change at this point in time.
