Ridin’ the Ignatieff express;
“Every time I sit down with Canadians and talk to Canadians and I’m with Canadians, it seems to work. It’s the part of my job I like the best…”
It’s always the best way to learn about a new country.

It works all right.
Those Canadians realize he is an airhead, a complete, total airhead.
Slightly OT, but Iggy related.
I was scanning through the channels last night, and one of the news tickers at the bottom of the screen (on CBC I think, not sure, I’m away from home right now) was blathering on about how Iggy dropped everything to go meet the Queen because she asked to talk to him.
It distinctly reminded me of the situation a while back where Harper asked Iggy for his thoughts about the next GG and Iggy ran straight to the media to tell everyone all about it. This guy is a total media *hore, and would be an embarrassment as our PM.
By the way, the Stars headline is incorrect, it should say “Britain learning from British Liberals…”
Kate says “It’s always the best way to learn about a new country”. So, in Mr. Iffy’s case, when is the start date?
Sorta funny Iggy claiming credit for Canada’s fiscal prudence when he was instrumental in forcing Canada’s useless, costly, version of the “simulus”.
This would indicate that if he and his had the purse-strings….Canada’s debt would be similar to that of the US.
“I think Mr. Harper began his relationship with China by wagging his finger and giving them a lecture. I don’t think that was productive. It put the relationship in the deep freeze for nearly four years,” Ignatieff said”
You mean like this from only FIVE years ago;
“Summers said last night that he was “pleased” by the CCSR’s decision to cut Harvard’s ties with PetroChina—the first time he has publicly expressed his personal views on divestment.
“After news of Harvard’s holdings in PetroChina first sparked an uproar in October, Summers consulted with Michael Ignatieff, director of the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, and Samantha Power, a Kennedy School lecturer who has helped to expose the ongoing genocide in Sudan’s western region of Darfur.”

““We had a very good discussion about how Canada under Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin got the deficit down. He was very interested to see how we did it,” Ignatieff told reporters on Friday.”
Yup, it’s a big mystery alright. Raid an EI fund, raise taxes, sprinkle in some creative bookkeeping and presto bingo.
Bribes.
How many people died because of liberal health care funding cut’s? Why cant the leftys run the numbers, and present them to the Canadian people, since they like their statistics so much. death due to cut’s is now a feature, not a bug. I bet Briton copy’s it word for word.

Iggy: Golly, you majesty, you’re REALLY swell.
Meanwhile over @ National News Watch we have the Case of the Missing 1/2 $$Million
A pundits guide say’s A closer look at the party 2009 financial returns reveals that the Liberal Party over reported their contributions by 500k across their 4 quarterly reports in 2009…….
Actually, I think it was under pressure from Preston Manning and the Reform Party at that time that Paul Martin tried to take the wind out of their sails and got serious about reducing the deficit. Mr. Martin was gracious enough to admit as much recently. And, credit where credit is due, Paul Martin did it and Jean Cretien stood by him.
Icky I and Nicky Cleg are both children of Russian exiles, families who fled Russia during the Russian Revolution of 1917. Both boys came from families who owned thousands of serfs. Their families lost all their money and serfs when the Bolsheviks took over so they lost their aristocratic ‘entitlements’. The aims of both men seem to be to set up a situation, in the free world, that would enable them to claim their ‘entitlements’ (on the line of Obama plan in the USA).
Icky and Nicky (Clegg) are hell bent on bankrupting the middle class for the benefit of the ‘entitled’ class. They believe that their heritage would indicate that they would naturally be placed in the entitled or ruling class. Both would have been considered ‘enemies of the people’ in 1917. The kind, decent people of Canada and Britain took them in and gave them a place to live. Their pals in the ‘entitled’ class (people like the crowd that the Queen pals around with) did not offer the old Russian Aristocrats much help, they were pretty useless without wealth! The new way to climb on to the entitled registrar is to go Liberal(Progressive); Icky I and Nicky Cleg seem to be right up to date in that department.
You can take entitlements from the boy but you can’t take the boy from his demand for his ‘entitlements’.
If Icky I ever became Prime Minister he would treat the great unwashed (Canadians) like his private herd of serfs. Icky I should go home – to Harvard or Russia.
Hey – at least he didn’t say ‘the Canadians’
The Ivy League money monkeys live in the Keynsian world of credit and debt because they know they can control the serfs with it. The more debt, the more control.
The reason the libtards are so gleeful about their contribution to the economy is that they have brilliant accountants who know how to play the shell game with the numbers. They couldn’t play that game with Preston at the helm of the Reform Party because he was an accountant, and more than once he schooled them on how to play the game.
Iggy will feel totally at home in China, they are running their government pretty much the same as how he would run our government, sans human rights abuse, of course. ;^)
Is Iggy related to Allan Rock ?. Must be.
Surely we can be happy to bask in the Count’s
amiable condescension?
It’s always the best way to learn about a new country.
lol lol lol
Thats gotta hurt if he’s heard it . Brilliant!!!!
Ignatieff is in WAY over his head. If it wasn’t for the CBC and CTV’s pandering to the Liberal mantra of ‘Conservatives bad,Liberals, well they deserve another chance’ mantra, continually,we would have a beter knowledge of Canada.
Jema 54 – how interesting to find out that slimy Nick Clegg is a scion of the Russian nobility, just like Iggles. I had no idea.
Jema 54: You certainly have a bizarre view of the Russian Revolution. Are you a product of the American public schools?
Kroket you are on crack. PM and JC “balanced’ the budget by stealing 57 billion from the EI fund – for which the were convicted unanimously by the SCOC – and cutting transfers to the provinces. then the promptly ‘grew’ wht economy by devaluing the currency into the low 60s vs the US$. This reduced unemployment but also crippled productivity gains and retarded investment in capitla to make workers more efficiennt. then when the dollar surged due to demand for cdn petro and natural gas, these same cheap workers in central Canada are hopelessly uncompetitive.
So yes give PM and JC their due, they beggared the EI fund and crippled the industrial sector in central Canada.
Has Iggy tried putting an ad in the personals?
“If you like Pina Coladas and higher taxes…?”
Basically Jema 54 has it right. Quent you might want to read any book by Richard Pipes, Orlando Figes, William Chamberlin and a host of others regarding the Russian Revolution, rather than the revisionist glorification of the Bolshevik coup that is most likely taught in many Canadian and American universities these days.
The only thing Jema might want to check is the emancipation of the serfs in 1862 (I think) by Tsar Alexander. The peasants were still tired to the land however, but their own conventions. Peasants that wanted to farm on their own rather than a communal system, generally relocated to Siberia, Ukraine or other peripheries of the Empire. This was why the Siberians and Ukrainians resisted collectivization in the 1930s.
Oh, by the way, some of my family members were charged as “enemies of the people”. Their crime was that they owned their farm and no, they did not have hired workers.
By the way, we had a look at Mr. Iffy’s grandfather’s house in St. Pete in 2008. Quite the digs and wrought iron fence around it.
So Iggy finds that the part of his paid job which requires him to “sit” and “talk” and be “with Canadians” “seems to work” for him, and he likes it:
Meeting Canadians in their natural environment!
He talks like a professor doing research on a breed or species.
Or like Doctor Dolittle in the musical film of the same name, just substitute “Canadians” for “animals” in the lyrics below:
“If we could talk to the animals, learn their languages
Think of all the things we could discuss
If we could walk with the animals, talk with the animals,
Grunt and squeak and squawk with the animals,
And they could squeak and squawk and speak and talk to us.”
Thank-you for the clarification Ken (Kulak). As I understand it, the structure in USSR , after the Revolution, mirrored the Old Russia (serfs on the bottom, ‘elites’ on the top!) I think that the growing middle class, in Russia, just prior to WWWI terrified the ‘elites’ and the Bolsheviks – for the same reason. Neither wanted the people of Russia to be free and prosperous because they would no longer have cheap labor or power over the life and death of citizens. To give them credit, the Aristocrats were much less interested in torture and terrorism; regular people were faring much better just before Lenin and his pals ‘went home’. Like Icky I, the Bolshevik head honchos lived outside their homeland until they thought they could take over and RULE. Lenin was sent back to infect Russia by Germany, in a closed railway car. Germany defeated Russia from within, not in combat.
I think it was Don Mazenkowski who established the debt-reduction program exploited by Mr Martin.
Cheers
um, these Canadians Iggy is chatting up – they wouldn’t be like the homeless people old Crouton used to hang with back when he was the Sultan? i.e. imaginary?
