  3. The Cuban hospitals for non-tourists are no better and possible worse than what we saw in the Ukraine.
    At least in the Ukraine they are trying now and have improved considerably since 1990, although people here would be aghast if they would walk into one of the more rural ones and most of the big city ones. Other than occasional coats of paint and minimum maintenance, they have not physically changed since the early 1920s. Most of the medical equipment is the equivalent of our 1960s equipment. Our rural veterinary clinics here look much better.
    Doctors make about $300 U.S. and have after hours clinics to supplement their salaries.

  4. That last picture made me sick. Yeah right great hospitals that you wouldn’t put your pet in.
    I still here from people who went there that never left a compound or when they did. Where shepherded about unknowingly by Cuban rats.
    Speak with nothing but praise as their get the Tour. No bums in the visitors path please.

    and as a preemptive strike against any lurking Castro apologists, the USA has never embargoed food or medical sales to Cuba, like anyone with any sense, while dealing with communists they have not extended any credit terms to them… (it’s cash only for you Fidel).

As I asked at the Red Star’s site re. the Afghan detainee torture stories, but for some stange reason it didn’t clear “moderation”, so how much time and money has Bob Rae spent in Cuba as a Dipper and as a Grit? Does that make him responsible for this and for the conditions of Castro’s prisons?

    BTW, funny some mentioning animal hospitals here as I recall reading several years ago that veterinarians treated ordinary Cubans. (In an exposé by two Cuban doctor refugees.)

  14. Our very own Dr. David Suzuki described Cuba as a sustainable agricultura; paradise. he implored the whole world to follow suit and our very own CBCpravda broadcast it as absolute gospel.

  21. Cuba gets a lot of Canadian tourists. The people are fairly happy but have you on this blog been there or are you sucking wind?
