By the way, tonight’s SDA LNR cheese selection is Hawes’ Wensleydale. There’s something about this cheese, like the Lancashire that we previously featured, that just says, never mind the bubbles or the blue veins: this is cheese.

He projects onto others his own shortcomings and negative emotions, thus becoming a totally good object. A narcissistic leader is likely to justify the butchering of his own people by claiming that they intended to kill him, undo the revolution, devastate the economy, or the country, etc.
    The “small people”, the “rank and file”, the “loyal soldiers” of the narcissist – his flock, his nation, his employees – they pay the price. The disillusionment and disenchantment are agonizing. The process of reconstruction, of rising from the ashes, of overcoming the trauma of having been deceived, exploited and manipulated – is drawn-out. It is difficult to trust again, to have faith, to love, to be led, to collaborate. Feelings of shame and guilt engulf the erstwhile followers of the narcissist. This is his sole legacy: a massive post-traumatic stress disorder.”

    The public’s grief was unfeigned and profound, for Jackson embodied the desire of a generation, that is, never to grow up. Oscar Wilde’s Dorian Gray had a portrait that revealed his inner decay, and Michael Jackson had a nose. If one image captures the spirit of the times, it is that nose, which narrowed, shrank and finally fell in, in emulation of the failing youth of his fans…

  15. terry tory – yes, I fully agree; that’s a good description of Obama, who in my view, is a pathological narcissist. The ‘pathological’ refers to its being severe and outside the realm of treatment.
    You can see the steps of his behaviour. He moves from his manipulation of crowds by his misinformation, his utopian rhetoric – to his hostility to criticism. In this stage, he’ll react to criticism by insults and denigration, as he did with Hannity, Limbaugh, FOX news and the Tea Parties. At a later stage, people who reject him cease to exist as people; he’ll either ignore them, or, he can go further and justify their harm.
    What we see now, is more complaints from Obama that the people must ‘be patient’ (i.e., they are complaining, they aren’t in his control); his telling them that THEY are the problem (impatient) and not him.
    Then, there’ll be diversions, as he attacks the Bush administration. This is both a diversion and an example of what he does to people who are not in his control.
    He’s setting up internal divisions, of political parties, of race, of administrative departments (CIA vs Congress). This weakens the ability of the people to criticize.
    And, he’s putting in a level of government, those ‘czars’ who are unelected and sycophantically dependent on Obama. This increases his power and weakens Congress – which he has already weakened by refusing to allow them time to even read his Motions before passing them.
    What’s next? Obama needs to live in a bubble, a fictional world where he controls everyone. Can he and his staff keep him in this bubble – in which case, he retreats more and more to its isolation, or will he feel threatened by the intrusions of the real world?

    Apparently the Royal inbred Charlie (inept, idle upper class twit extraordinaire) has sent out the word that he can save the world in the 96 months it has left before green armageddon. Of course earth saving measures includes the world population surrendering to a new global economic fascism and feudalistic society run by old wealth and technocrats. What better spokesman for the new world saving collectivist feudalism than someone who’s family is closely acquainted with feudal tyranny.

    My suspicions are Yes his most powerfull have lobbied for this.
    Or the Queen is losing it(sarc)and if thats the case may God Bless the Queen.
    ET i know you dont visit ctv.ca but you should make an acception for this, The accompanied caption photo is of Chretian & Ignatieff with Chretian on a Pedestal(stage) looking down at & shaking hands with Iggy. In the photo ET, it gives the impression that Iggy is Kneeling to the Oh So Powerfull one & he has just been blessed.

    IMO: one line left out of Other areas.

  30. bryanr – There is no way that the Queen thought of giving Chretien, or anyone, that award, on her own. She was advised – and that means that Chretien has been lobbying, probably for several years, for the award.
    Chretien is an egotistical, narcissistic individual (no, not similar to Obama’s pathological narcissism). He considers himself ‘superior, supreme’; he’s always talking about himself. That award was a result of hard, deliberate lobbying. Real hard lobbying.
    As we all know, however, Chretien is a crook, totally corrupt. As one political analyst said, “you do not use the word ‘principles’ and ‘Chretien’ in the same sentence.
    Chretien is wholly, totally, without principles. Totally unethical. And what is remarkable, is that he has such extensive connections in the Backroom Network, that he’s managed to get away with it.
    He and his ‘balancing the budget’. Hah – what a joke. That was achieved by offloading costs on to the provinces!
    Oh – and his GST? How about that?
    And his very own Sponsorship scandal, which saw taxpayer money used to fund Liberal campaigns in Quebec?
    And his taxpayer benefits to his buddies – such as special airports in two-bit towns?
    And..his connections to the Desmarais, PowerCorp and Maurice Strong corrupt cabal?
    Chretien is a basic crook. Hmm. That does indeed define the Liberal party, doesn’t it?

When asked what his greatest accomplishment was in his career his response was “Winning 3 majorities”! I defy anyone to name 3 major items he enacted in his 13 years beyond beggaring the provinces like Ontario by cutting the transfer payments and stealing the EI funds to allow him to crow about paying off the deficit. How was he able to retire a multi-millionaire unless he was bought by Strong and Power Corp?
    In my life I have never despised a politician as I do Chretien. Even Turdeau was a better person than this POS.

    What I can’t figure out really is where this came from. Lobbying for stroke happens all the time, but Jeancula doesn’t have anything to speak of.
    Aside from the Auberges Grand Mere, supporting Suharto (political influence of the RCMP), Adscam.
    I’ve only seen him as a lifer bureaucrat that has mostly earned his living on government cheques.
    That don’t define much to me. I wonder where this comes from….

  36. andudell – Chretien didn’t rely on government salaries for his income. He’s an investor, and he’s in with the BackRoom Gang in Quebec.
    He’s been involved in the massive corporation that is the Desmarais Gang, Power Corp etc for years. They are financiers and business funding agents all over the world – they are big in China, which is why Chretien is there a lot…and has close ties with Maurice Strong.
    Desmarais is the financial support behind Chretien, and Mulroney and Martin – they are all part of the same Montreal financier set.
    Putting these guys into political power enabled Desmarais, Power Corp etc to ‘get things done’ in other countries.
