Gun Control Plan to Control Costs and Management
Skyrocketing costs of the gun control registry in Canada and scathing criticism of the program by the Auditor General of Canada in December 2002 led the Canadian federal Justice Department to hire management consultants to examine the efficiency and the financial systems and controls of the Canadian gun control program.
With the information from the consultants’ reports, in February 2003 the Canadian federal government announced an action plan to address the problems with the gun control program.
Goal of Gun Control Action Plan
The goal of the gun control action plan is to reduce the gross costs of the gun control program in Canada to approximately $67 million annually by 2008-09. The Canadian federal government expects some of these costs to be offset by revenues. The government also expects gross expenditures to increase slightly in 2003-04 and 2004-05 as the gun control program changes its infrastructure and business processes.

Aims To assess whether deceitful individuals show structural abnormalities in prefrontal grey and white matter volume.
Method Prefrontal grey and white matter volumes were assessed using structural magnetic resonance imaging in 12 individuals who pathologically lie, cheat and deceive (�liars�),16 antisocial controls and 21 normal controls.
Results Liars showed a 22�26% increase in prefrontal white matter and a 36�42% reduction in prefrontal grey/white ratios compared with both antisocial controls and normal controls.

Moscow, 3 October 2005 (RFE/RL) — Eighty-five years after fleeing into exile, General Anton Denikin was reburied with full honors at Moscow’s Donskoy Monastery in a grand ceremony attended by some 2,500 people.
A number of high-ranking officials attended the ceremony, which featured both religious and military traditions.
The lavish reburials are the latest sign of rapprochement between the Kremlin and descendents of the White Russians living abroad.
Russia has also reburied the bodies of the tsarist family in St. Petersburg and, earlier this year, Putin cancelled a holiday marking the anniversary of the Bolshevik revolution, replacing it with the date of a 17th century victory over Poland.
Denikin’s 86-year-old daughter, who lives in France and accompanied her father’s remains to Moscow, was the one who initiated the decision to move her father’s ashes to Russia.
