Chuck Guite Testimony Ban

With the white noise of Liberal Party money dumps across the nation, not as much attention is being paid to the Chuck Guite testimony at the Gomery inquiry. However, what little news is trickling out hints that Guite’s testimony is as explosive as that of Jean Brault.
So, watch for the Liberal mantra to “wait for Gomery” to intensify. This is crucial to their game plan.
If the Liberals can survive long enough for public rage to subside, and extend his government’s life the full length of Gomery’s mandate, he’ll be in the clear – for Paul Martin is fully aware of the fact that Judge Gomery is prohibited from assigning blame under his terms of reference.
paragraph K;

The Commissioner be directed to perform his duties without expressing any conclusion or recommendation regarding the civil or criminal liability of any person or organization and to ensure that the conduct of the inquiry does not jeopardize any ongoing criminal investigation or criminal proceedings;

So, with the report effectively pre-sterilized and a national media overwhelmingly in his corner, Paul Martin is virtually assured of a report he can “take to the bank” when it comes to denying civil or criminal wrongdoing on the part of the Liberal party.
Jean Brault, Paul Coffin, Chuck Guite – it won’t matter what they testify to, or if they implicate the highest elected officials in the land – Gomery cannot lay blame. Neat, eh?

  1. Sorry Canada, but in this American’s opinion, your government is a lost cause.
You need to wipe the whole thing out and start from scratch – with a Constitution – a REAL constitution.
And while you’re at it, have a little fun – set some one-time-use laws that apply to former politicians. They all go to jail for X amount of time, and ALL their assets are confiscated.
That should set you up with a budget surplus for decades.

  2. I put a LOT of the public passivity on this down to pure sloth – people don’t want to know too much, because then they’ll feel ashamed for doing nothing. But there are some Canadians who think they’re being fair by joining in with the Liberals and saying ‘wait for Gomery’. I think they’re just ignorant – they think that the Gomery Inquiry is a sort of TRIAL. Almost nowhere is it explained just what the Inquiry is limited to exploring, and what will be the end result when it finally concludes. I’m pretty well-informed, and I learned from blog-reading that the finale to the Inquiry will be a report delivered to the Privy Council, which will then decide IF they want to make it public. It’s been a long time since the Inquiry was set up – nobody remembers what the terms were, and the media have studiously avoided informing the public since. So many people are just thinking that some guys are on trial, and it’s only fair until the jury decides. It doesn’t require any special thought or exertion – that’s the standard “decent” attitude to any criminal trial, so people can feel noble about doing nothing.

  3. PUSH POLLING IN CANADA.
Didn’t think it could happen in this country? Think again! Our Liberal media and elites are trying their best to topple the Tories before they even form government. Consider this past weekend’s polls.
The Frank Graves-Ekos Poll appears to be doing more than asking people their opinion. Look for the push-polling question in the Star article. Ekos asks if Canadians trust the Conservative-Bloc Alliance. There is no alliance, but this Liberal puts in a question to thousands of Canadians and then publishes the results so that people start to think there is an Alliance. The Liberals and Bloc voted together more than 12 times over the last year to defeat Conservative motions or to give more money to the gun registry. Where are the questions about the Liberal-Bloc Alliance.

  5. Who is Fooling Whom?
It’s time to talk to Quebec and rectify the evolving role of the Provinces. If we need to break-up the country in order to re-constitute it then so be it.
Organized labor in Quebec supports the concept of separation. Organized labor in Quebec provides resources and volunteers to elect Parti-Qubecois and Bloc-Quebecois candidates. PSAC (Public Service Alliance of Canada – Federal Government Employee Union) provides resources and volunteers in Quebec to elect Bloc-Quebecois candidates. Many PSAC organizers are NDP, Bloc Quebecois, and Liberal supporters.
If the CAW has any presence in Quebec, their Quebec wing will be supporting Bloc-Quebecois candidates. If any big Caanadian union has any type of presence in Quebec, they will be supporting the Bloc-Quebecois. Buzz Hargrove knows this. He is not clueless.
Layton and Martin received their marching orders from Big Labor, who in turn support the Bloc-Quebecois. Keep this in mind the next time your hear the “separtist jingo” talk about getting into bed with the separatists.

  6. The Conservatives need to commission a poll of Quebeckers: “Would you be more likely to vote to separate if the Liberals win the majority of seats in Ontario again?”
This will elicit a big “yes” and it will wake the idiots in Ontario up to the fact that a vote for the Liberals is a vote for sending Quebec packing. God know why… but that’s a major concern to the idiots in this province.

  7. Great poll question…..oh I wish someone would ask it.
All you need is about $25,000 and that question can be asked.

    Is it a fact?

  9. Y’know, sometimes I wish someone would come up here, take over the country, topple our pathetic government, and give us something that.. uh.. doesn’t suck so much.

  10. Perhaps it would be a good idea to begin a letter writing blitz to the MSM, in order to educate people — particularly those who wish to wait for Gomery — about paragraph K. The average person, I’m sure, is not aware of the work of bloggers, and still gets his or her info from newspapers, etc., and don’t know about the limitations of the Gomery inquiry. And, Paul Martin knows this. If a large enough number write letters to the editor to show that Gomery (the inquiry, not the judge!) is in fact toothless, maybe people will think twice about “waiting for Gomery”…

  11. Halifax – pretty good write-up on the criminal element up there (at least the ones at the top). Interesting reading.

  12. Why Gomery doesn’t matter.

Paul Martin said this: When the Auditor General’s report was publicly tabled, I acted immediately by ordering a fully independent commission of inquiry, under Mr. Justice John Gomery. Its mandate is to get to the bottom of what happened and…

  13. gwgm – regarding your poll question: “Would you be more likely to vote to separate if the Liberals win the majority of seats in Ontario again?”
Why ask only in Quebec? It would be interesting to see the results for this question in other provinces, most notably Alberta.
I’d predict if Ontario puts in another Liberal govt. the flames of separation will be fanned into a gigantic prairie fire in Alberta as well.

  14. You know, a lot of you “regular readers” who surf in and comment can do a small part to get information out. The real influence in the blogosphere is numerical – it’s trust. Even small blogs can compensate for relatively low traffic, by establishing a readership that has high trust.
That means it’s important to send friends, family members, etc. links to blogs when you spot something interesting. Don’t spam them with a dozen a day!
Something the Republicans figured out to advantage in the last Presidential election. They didnt’ win it with huge campaigns and multi–million dollar ad spots – they won it in suburban living rooms, small groups of informed people who fanned out and talked to people the knew, who trusted them.

  15. Guite & Gomery Inquiry:
    “Application for funding”
Canadian taxpayers, you , are paying for Guite’s testimony & legal defence.
“The applicant has been generally recognized as a “central figure”…
In what office? Which Minister? Gagliano.
Who was the Prime Minister? Chretien.
Who was the Finance Minister? Martin.
    Who is accountable?
    Nobody?
    Martin/Chretien are accountable.
    Resign, Paul Martin. Resign. Now.
