  1. Hopefully this will be allowed and I won’t get into trouble. I thought we could use some humor.

Breakfast at a Truck Stop…–GOOD LAUGH!

For those who travel, often the best food is a truck stop. I wonder what the waitress would have to say if someone actually ordered their breakfast as this guy did?

A trucker came into a Truck Stop Cafe’ and placed his order. He said, “I want three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards.”

The brand new blonde waitress, not wanting to appear stupid, went to the kitchen and said to the cook, “This guy out there just ordered three flat tires, a pair of headlights and a pair of running boards. What does he think this place is, an auto parts store?”

‘No,’ the cook said. ‘Three flat tires… mean three pancakes; a pair of headlights… is two eggs sunny side up; and a pair of running boards… are 2 slices of crisp bacon.

‘Oh… OK!’ said the blonde. She thought about it for a moment and then spooned up a bowl of beans and gave it to the customer.

The trucker asked, ‘What are the beans for, Blondie?’
    (I love this one…! )

She replied, ‘I thought while you were waiting for the flat tires,
headlights and running boards, you might as well gas up!

FOR ONCE THE BLONDE GETS EVEN!!!!!

    1. Ken,
Heh, heh. Where do you get these jokes?
      My turn, true story though…
ZANY me, trying to do one of the Corporal Works of Mercy, once dropped off some of my home cooking to the wrong house. No one was home so I just left it there. When I realized my mistake hours later, I went bacķ to get it back on the slim chance that it wasn’t yet consumed and that I could talk my way out of this with an explanation of my error. Lo and behold, no one was home, so I ‘stole’ my own food! I hoped I didn’t encounter someone coming home, on my way out the door and have them think I was a thief stealing from them!
Luckily I met no one, mission accomplished!

Those were the days when some people did not lock their doors. Lots of laughs afterwards!

  2. Sorry, I know probably hardly anyone here cares, but today was moving day in the National League West.
After starting the season 16-26, the Dodgers have turned it around, with a 31-13 streak. And today, on a day off, they backed into the NL-W lead by percentage points with Arizona losing. They have done this having lost their All Star shortstop for the season, and having only one starting pitcher pitching enough innings to qualify as a starter, due to injuries.

    1. I like baseball, OldBruin. Just a dummy here, don’t understand it all, I don’t know anything like the experts, but, it has that sound of Summertime, that people like, and that it is the perfect game of all time and so very American! Used to see the Expos play ball. Saw Hank Aaron beat out Babe Ruth’s R.B.I. record at an exhibition in Tampa in ’78 . The crowd went wild! Talk to me about it.

You must be a Boston Bruin hockey fan too! Just guessing.

      1. Baseball is the greatest spectator sport for social gatherings. The pace is just right to keep interest in the game, and yet allow for a lot of chatter. It is the ideal way to spend a summer evening with good friends, especially if the home team wins, which the Dodgers usually do.

Well, full disclosure. The Dodgers play in Los Angeles. There is a university there commonly known as UCLA. Its full name is University of California, Los Angeles. Its mascot is the same as the Boston hockey team. I graduated from there a long time ago. It was already left leaning then, but it hasn’t affected the STEM fields yet, by and large. I still support its football and basketball teams for no discernible reason, as what it is doing now is totally far left, as, sigh, almost all the “top” universities are.

I have a jacket in blue with the script “Bruins” in the back, and only a tiny almost indiscernible “UCLA” in the front. I wore that in Boston and most people accepted it. Of course way back when before the Kings, I rooted for Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito. But I won’t have called myself OldBruin just for that.

Oh Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Aaron famously broke Ruth’s career home run record. But I am one of the old timers who still think Ruth was the greatest HR hitter. (I am not THAT old, just think that way.) You must compare a player against his peers of the day and not across generations. Ruth was incomparable. He hit more HR than most TEAMS. Aaron hardly led the league in HR any year. But he played a long time when HR were much more frequent than in Ruth’s day.

        1. Huh? … you didn’t even mention Barroid Bonds … or Mark (5th Amendment) McGuire … or Jose Canseco … when speaking of …

          Home run records*

          1. Real home run records, not from a bottle. Anyway, Ms Ross only asked me about Aaron and Ruth.

        2. I remember how disappointed the people from Brooklyn were when the Dodgers moved to L.A. some never got over it. As far as Babe Ruth goes the crowd in Tampa went wild only because it was Aaron’s due. It was nice to be there and see it live. Later I heard that many would have liked to have had Babe Ruth keep his record. Well because it was Babe Ruth.

          1. See 3:42 Old Bruin we were both trying to answer Kenji at the same time …what a laugh!

        3. I only acknowledge the relocation of the New York GIANTS to San Francisco … on my second birthday … which afforded me the ability to see Willy Mays, Juan Marchal, Willie McCovey, the Alou Bro’s., Gaylord Perry, Orlando Cepeda … and … Jim Ray Hart *giggle*

Sitting in our usual spot, a few rows back from 3rd base, my grandfather and I took in many a game. Nothing but beautiful memories … and never a fight, or a curse word ever uttered by a fan. Yes, the late 50’s and early 60’s were a magical time to be alive, when courtesy and decorum were ingrained in every citizen. People had class, self respect and dignity.

          1. I love baseball. My mother used to listen to games on the radio. Dad liked boxing – on radio.
I have sat radio and get all the games. I’ve heard ’em all. Pee Wee, Dizzy, Gowdy ,
            Vin of coarse.
I used to make a west coast trip every summer to watch a series. Saw the Expos in their hayday play 4 at the ‘Stick’ – Randy Johnson go head to head with Rocket Roger at the Kingdom.
A gentile game played in the afternoon without a time clock. More strategy than a defense meeting in a war room.
            Baseball. Ya gotta love it.

          2. To abTrapper reply @11:30:
” ah, baseball ya gotta love it, a game played without a time clock”….it’s why people love it, how true.
“It ain’t over, till it’s over!”

    1. .That will be my answer tomorrow to a friend who has been beserk since Trump began to run for office. She’s been quiet recently because I won’t play her game, but today she used Pruitt leaving to again blame Trump and said Trump is Satan using an emoji to emphasize what she was saying. I didn’t know she knew how to look for an emoji so she is showing me that she is serious. Her husband is a retired Major and I expected a woman as intelligent as she is would not listen to CNN and CBC as her only source for news. To be honest, she is so deranged on the subject of Trump, I think she’d happy if he was killed. Why would a Canadian be so emotionally involved with Trump when she has not once mentioned Hillary or Obama? It’s a mystery.

      1. I also find this puzzling. Where does the venom come from? It is not rational. I think one of the core issues is that people on the left feel Trump threatens their world view — particularly as he is outspoken and is correct on so many issues. Pouring money into UN plans to mitigate climate change is siimply throwing money away. Trump has not been afraid to state this, but leftists and many Canadians continue to deny this truth. To survive, nation states must protect their borders. Trump’s policies reflect this. In welcoming all the Roxham Road cue-jumping refugee seekers, Canada is denying this reality, and it is costing a bundle. Leftists do not want to face the reality of the problems being caused by “welcoming” all these cue-jumpers from foreign nations (to say nothing of also welcoming ISIS terrorists!). They prefer to congratulate themselves for being “better” than the Americans. CBC reinforces their views by its one-sided coverage and attempts to cover-up problems being created, but the chickens will come home to roost sooner or later. Many previous free trade deals have allowed countries to take advantage of the US (including Canada with the practice of dumping Chinese steel.) Trump is putting a stop to this. Trump is not afraid to be politically incorrect, and he is bringing a modicum of sanity to bear on many issues. On most of these issues, the left is on the wrong side of history. I think the fear that their basic orientation to things political is wrong — and in fact destructive — is angering many leftists. They are lashing out with violence. Sadly, they do not respond to rational argument.

    2. Winning!!

Funny though … the article almost made it sound like … Losing? As in losing the FAKE environmental programs to “solve” the planet’s natural cycles … losing all the useless quasi-environmental regulations to bludgeon unsuspecting property owners with.

Sounds like a strategical upgrade in Administers. Now … let’s get RID of all the leftist, rabid faux-eco ideologues embedded in the EPA bureaucracy. The ones who leaked, lied, and hounded Pruitt out of office

  3. Suspect Tries to Steal Car with Toddlers in Back Seat, Gets Shot in Head by Mother

    5 Jul 2018 8,790
A suspect allegedly tried to steal a car with two toddlers in the back seat on July 4
and ended up hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.

WTSP reports that the mother was out of the car at a Shell station south of Dallas,
Texas, around 10 pm when the suspect allegedly jumped into the vehicle and begin
to take off. The mother jumped into the passenger seat and begged him not to take
the car but he refused her request. The mother then reached into the glove
compartment, pulled out a handgun, and shot the suspect in the head.

The mother said, “I’m not a killer but I do believe in defending what’s mine.” She
added, “I hope that woke him up.”

The suspect lost control of the car after being shot and crashed into a telephone
    pole and a wooden fence.

The suspect was taken to the hospital, where NBCDFW reports his injuries were listed
    as non-life threatening.

The two toddlers were not injured.

If this was to happen in Canada, that mother would be in so much trouble. The gov’t.
would seize her toddlers, claiming she endangered them. Then charge her with attempted
murder of the perp. who tried to kidnap her children. …. If acquitted by a jury, they’d
charge her by way of summary conviction of unsafe storage of a firearm, and send her to
jail as an example to all Canadian parents, as to who runs this country.

Next P.M. Justin Trudeau would give the serpent, err I mean perp. $10.5 million (of Cdn’s
money) as compensation for whatever S.J.W. reason he could come up with.

    1. Sweet! Next time, I hope she draws faster … and the perp isn’t able to duck at the last second. Mamma Bear!!

  4. Jordan Peterson: Why Do Elites Like Socialism?
    Rebel Staff

Dr. Jordan Peterson joined the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, Michael Knowles, Andrew Klavan, and Jeremy Boreing to discuss the alliance of collectivists and academia.

Dr. Peterson explained how the rapid growth of university faculties is resulting in lower pay for adjunct professors, who feel powerless and trapped in a rigged game. This leads to a feeling of resentment conducive to the jealousy inherent within socialistic ideologies.

  5. Ya, but they came later in the timeline that we’re speaking of, circa 1978. So you do have a point but then there is another matter. The guys you mentioned all took performance enhancement steroids right? There was some controversy, if I’m not mistaken. You guys duke it out, I’m out of my league, or out for lunch, or just plain wrong, like I said I’m no expert.

Still like the game though. I enjoyed the big win a few years ago for the Royals, all that overtime, like watching 2 games and sudden death. It was the best! For the World Series, it was!

    1. Heh heh “out TO lunch”, rather.
Big difference from “out FOR lunch”.

“UN’s ‘Green Climate Fund’ boondoggle falling apart thanks to President Trump

    By Thomas Lifson

Yesterday, a board meeting of the U.N. Green Climate Fund collapsed in bitterness, failing to approve any funding, and its executive director abruptly resigned. Like so many other global warmist gatherings of well paid officials in luxurious and exotic locales, this one was supposed to share the joy of distributing other people’s money and being praised for it. But President Trump turned off the spigot from the United States Treasury, and nobody else was willing to step up and replace the American cash with his own.

Megan Darby reports in Climate Change News:

Howard Bamsey resigned as executive director of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) with immediate effect on Wednesday, in a bombshell finish to a fraught board meeting.

The Australian cited “pressing personal reasons” in his resignation letter, adding that it was best he leave before the next round of fundraising started.

It came as the four-day meeting in Songdo, South Korea collapsed with no decisions on 11 funding bids worth nearly $1 billion, or on how to top up the flagship climate finance initiative’s dwindling resources.

The resources are dwindling because of President Trump’s pullout from the Paris Climate Accord and his suspension of 2 billion taxpayer dollars slated for the fund: …”

Following his meeting with Ontario Premier Doug Ford, Justin Trudeau displayed massive arrogance and disrespect.

Preening for the press, Trudeau claimed that Ford wasn’t “quite aware” of how the “asylum seeking” system works, and that he had to spend time “explaining it” to Ford.

Of course, Trudeau is the one who doesn’t understand how borders work, and his reckless invite of everybody to enter Canada was a huge cause of the crisis at the border which is having a seriously damaging impact on our social programs.”

  8. “Rap Sheet: ***133*** Acts of Media-Approved Violence and Harassment Against Trump Supporters”

“When not calling Trump supporters “Nazis” as a means to dehumanize us, the establishment media like to whine about the lack of civility in American politics, even as they cover up, ignore, downplay, or straight-up approve of the wave of violence and public harassment we are seeing against supporters of President Trump.

It is open season on Trump supporters, and the media is only fomenting, encouraging, excusing, and hoping for more… The media are now openly calling Trump supporters “Nazis” and are blaming Trump for a mass murder he had nothing to do with. This, of course, is a form of harassment because it incites and justifies mob violence.

Here is the list, so far, and remember that if any one of these things happened to a Democrat, the media would use the story to blot out the sun for weeks. But what we have when it comes to Trump supporters is a media eager to normalize harassment and violence.

This list will be updated as needed…”.

Hehr said after the investigation’s conclusion he apologized to those who had made the complaints about him, and has “taken the time to focus on the improvements I can make in both my personal and professional life.”

Asked Friday how he responded to criticisms that the allegations against him are similar to those levied against Hehr, which included a claim of inappropriate touching, Trudeau deflected.”

  16. Bit of insomnia on this end so…..
On the whole Justin Trudeau son of Castro thing:
Snopes, as usual is full of crap and simply operates first and foremost as a fog machine for the left.
Pierre and Margarete were in the Caribbean on a “2nd honeymoon” with an arrival in Barbados Thursday 8 April, 1971. Press documented travel to St. Vincent on Monday April 12, Tobago April 13th,14th, Pierre has lunch with Eric Williams socialist leader in Trinidad on the 15th leaving Margaret behind, returns on the 15th and is undocumented until anticipated return to Canada on Sunday the 18th. Days unaccounted for are 5,6,7 April, (technically the 15th of April), and the 16th, 17th, and 18th day of April. During this time the Trudeau movements and itinerary were not openly disclosed. Perhaps there was a visit to Cuba as well.
There is a resemblance (between Fidel and Justin). Given the character of Margaret Trudeau, it is not beyond the pale to wonder if she opportunistically banged (a term of matching elegance) “El Caballo”.
Verdict: possible, within character, within time frame, with offspring resemblance.
Justin CastroTrudeau born December 25, 1971.

You are off by a month.
9 months prior to December 25th would be March 25th.

We, after all, are footing the bills. We should be shouting and throwing rotten tomatoes at how ‘his highness’ forever screwed us. It is cringeworthy to know/ see that Trudeau went to all the way to Toronto to lecture the Premier of Ontario about our so called ‘obligations’ to an unelected body. It was a double insult because we had to pay for that photo op too, with Ford.

BTW…Oh how their matching outfits looked so pretty, they were color co-ordinated, both in blue suits and brown shoes…ah ha ha ha, betcha you won’t see Trudeau wearing brown shoes much anymore, it’s so last year. Can you just hear him screaming at La Sophie, ” get effing rid of those effing browns, if Ford is wearing browns now, it is out of date… phone Emmanuel in Paris and get me his opinion on a new look. There’s ☆ ‘eh’ election coming soon!

☆ Oh yes, our P.M. is now copying / channelling Democrats saying ‘EH’ instead of ‘AH’ or ‘AN’, I heard it 2 days ago, watch for it, especially before words beginning with vowels. It ‘ll now be eh apple, eh election… eh insult, eh orange etc… he now thinks he’s Obama.
