Is the world boiling? No. It was nice and warm yesterday a pleasant 24c with cloud and sun. A pleasant early round of golf, a couple of beer with the boys, a swim in the pool in the torrid heat of mid afternoon, the torrid 24C. If this is the end of the world, bring it on.

I watched/read with interest about the cost of living posting. Yes, it is bad in the big cities of Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Hamilton and Montreal. In Regina, I think the cost of living is quite reasonable except for the gas prices. Heck, even housing is reasonable with decent entry level condo’s starting at $ 90,000.
I sound like a broken record, but do not spend your money on stupid stuff like cigarettes, take-out food, fake nails or other unnecessary items.
Prices always go up, never down. Since moving to Regina 9+ years ago, my property taxes have increased from $ 168/month to $ 221/month. All my utilities have increased. Prepare and plan for this.

Or at the very least, understand and accept the difference between necessary and discretionary personal expenditures.
Housing is an example of the former; a ticket to a Taylor Swift concert is an example of the latter. If the economy is making it impossible to find housing, that’s a real problem and cause for some concern.
If you can’t afford a $2,000 ticket to see Taylor Swift, that’s not.
